Got Use Your Illusion I and II for $5 each, assumingly first-pressing from light research. Was quite excited to stick them into my player, until, on my way back, I realized some dick cheesed imp had inscribed his initials on both. Fuck you KW.

Put both of them into my player, and they both started to play the album, but I'm afraid this might just be a fluke/them only playing the first couple songs before the scratches eventually cause the CD to break down. Thus, my question is, are these CDs good enough to still listen through?

Recently I bought a CD online (WTIALY) that I'd been searching for for months. Can't find it anywhere unless it was 200 bucks. Someone reached out to me and let me know that a shop was selling it and wished me luck if I could get it. Good news was that I was able to get it, but bad news is ive never bought from them before.

ive already tried windows media player legacy and cdburnerxp. the problem is, when i play them on my pc's cd player they play fine but when i play them on my JVC cd player they just stop spinning and dont play, i dont know why that happens

Does this annoy anyone else? Older titles that originally were sold in jewel cases are now being sold new in digipaks. I refuse to buy them.

It makes me irrationally angry. In my mind, I think there's more people like me and publishers are shooting themselves in the foot and limiting new sales of older artists. But maybe it's just me?

Anyone else? Or am I alone on this island?

A couple years ago I inherited a huge CD collection along with some of my own stuff I'd been hoarding since high school. We're talking thousands of discs, all genres, some pretty rare pressings mixed in with the usual suspects.

I started grading them properly (actual Mint/VG+/Good grading, not the vague "acceptable" stuff you see on some marketplaces), sorting everything by genre, and slowly listing them. What started as clearing out space turned into something I actually care about now — I do weekly drops, keep prices low ($3.99 and up), and I try to treat it less like a warehouse dump and more like a shop I'd want to buy from myself.

Right now I've got 800+ titles up and continuallly adding more— rock, pop, hip-hop, country, some reissues and first pressings mixed in. Genuinely just here to share it with people who still care about owning physical music instead of renting it through a subscription. This disk has a weird blob marking in it out of sudden. Our family is trying to get some videos from this CD that are important to us.

Is it sacrilege to take a digipack/digisleeve and cut it up to fit inside of a jewel case? I don’t like how digipack and digisleeves look and hold the cd so I’ve been taking empty jewel cases and transitioning the packaging methods. Thoughts on doing this? Am I wrongfully mangling cd cases or is this a fair idea?
