Still hard to gauge Indiana. How much should teams like NW and Nebraska be able to lean on "we played undefeated and ranked Indiana close"? Or is everyone just good? I guess we'll see it all unfold soon enough.

This IU team is an enigma. I’m glad next week is in Bloomington.

Seems closer to the 2024 team (quite good but not elite) than last year’s team.

They have more talent on paper. They just aren’t as cohesive. And Hoover isn’t Mendoza.

We do not have more talent on paper. Sarrat, Ponds, Fischer, cooper Jr. , Ej Williams. Huge losses. We are still good though!

I meant talent based on the star recruiting system, whether you buy into that.

Stars mean nothing. IU went 16-0 with a national title and big ten championship. Beat 6 ranked teams with a point differential of 24pts. ELITE

I agree… Hense my “on paper “ qualifier.

Mendoza wasn't Mendoza either. Until he became Mendoza.

...sorry just coping hard here. Please be good Josh. More 50/50 balls to Becker and Marsh. Work the back shoulder throws to death.

Mendoza had that dog in him more than Hoover, IMO

We'll see Saturday

There’s something to it. It was unclear if Mendoza was that guy until later in the season. Hopefully Hoover can take similar steps and become anything close to Mendoza last year. Obviously not a guarantee, but a man can hope

Honestly, every team feels like an enigma at this point. We'll find out a lot more about Georgia and Bama today, Indiana and Ohio State next week, and Miami and Notre Dame next month. Plus those teams have to keep surviving upset bids.

Please beat ND so Domers STFU. They still think they would’ve won it all if they had made the playoff last season.

Hoping it happens. I'll gladly take a Miami-Indiana rematch for the title right now if that's on the table. Although hopefully with a different result this time.

Gladly as well. GL moving forward 🤝

I’ll be elated to make the CFP for the third year in a row as the worst P4 program going into 2024.

I'm just glad Miami is relevant again. The darkness wasn't as long as for Indiana, but 20+ years is still a long time of Miami not being good.

I wouldn’t say every team… my team got manhandled at home on homecoming by a then 1-3 Purdue team. I know where we stand and it’s behind the doghouse.

Florida and some of these other teams like northwestern and ucla though… no freaking clue what is going on there.

Lol. True. We know some teams are bad at this point. Although even those teams can surprise you sometimes as the season goes on.
