Another 6 month since the last Megathread.
Make sure to include the game(DOS, DOS EE, DOS2, DOS2 DE) in your question and mark your spoilers
The FAQ for DOS2 will be built as we go along:
My game has a problem/doesn't work properly, what do I do?
Check this out. If you can't find a solution there contact Larian support as detailed.
Do I need to play the previous game to understand the story?
No, there is a timegap of 1000 years between DOS and DOS2. The overall timeline of the Divinity games in perspective to DOS2 looks like this: DOS2 is set 1222 years after DOS1, 24 years after Divine Divinity, 4 years after Beyond Divinity, and 58 years before Divinity 2.
How many people can play at once?
Do I need to buy the game to play with my friends.
Can I mix and match inputs for PC couch coop?
What's the deal with origin stories?
I don't like my build! Can I change it?
What are the new crafting recipes from the gift bag?

Am I doing it right?

Something Ive always wondered. Does the “22-24” damage of the serrated sword trump the 1 strength and 1 two handed of the Final Word sword?? I can never make up my mind on this.

Bg3 was my first crpg, and after seeing the divinity trailer I bought dos2. Just defeated Alexander on fort joy island & I've come to prefer most of the divinity rules to the dnd ones in bg3 but mannnn i want to be able to shove!

Hey everyone, playing DOS2 for the first time after DOS1, and going over all the changes from one game to another
i just beat the Voidworm and that other minor worm, so before i venture forward, i still want to go over some things:
Lohse MC - 1h/shield + necro + geo (with some magic dmg)
Ifan - bow/xbow + Geo + summon (really not making use of it, will likely respec over, or do i remove geo?) also some magic dmg from Ifan cause fane needs magic help
Fane - fire/poison wand + Pyro + geo + Aero + some necro for heals and phys dmg
Sebille - 2h + necro + pyro swings
So, from here, what can i do to improve my team comp, and on what should i focus more?

Playing for not quite the first time(gotten to act 2 before quitting once before) and my main character is doing Summoner and I want to get all the summoning spells. Do I need the Red Prince in my party in order to get to the place where you can unlock the Summon Dragonling spell?

Been playing through DOS1. First time through, want to play it and DOS2 before Divinity comes out. Despite Bairdotr having highr skill with Bows than she does Crossbows, every time I compare them the Crossbows are just stronger. 1 more AP but notably higher damage ranges.
Am I missing something about bows?

Good Evening,
Is there an image gallery of all the Divinity Original Sins 2 Paintings that can be found throughout the game? Like not just a picture of the painting in game but just the actual art.
No idea why but I want to get the full image of Lulabelle Paintings from later in the game, but all I find is in game screenshots.

Can't seem to figure out the fine details of pickpocketing and can't find a good explanation elsewhere. I'm wondering what determines whether you get caught, if there are dice rolls involved, etc. Also I see people talking about npcs discovering they were robbed and investigating but with every successful pickpocket I tried, the npcs didn't react in any way. Also, is there a way to avoid combat if you get caught? Classic difficulty if that matters

I feel like I'm going crazy but I'm just not having any fun with combat in this game. I'm playing it in co-op with a friend, neither of us power gaming or anything, just kind of building into things that sound fun, but I can't play the game. Every combat basically goes
Turn 1. They summon an incarnate, gigabuff the incarnate with everything under the sun
Turn 2. The incarnate mortally wounds everything and knocks them all over
Turn 3. I just finish off any survivors.
I was trying to do something revolving around that sparking strike pyromancy spell and warfare skills to do a bunch of aoe fire damage but it just never ends up mattering. I thought I was enjoying myself but at one point they started combat while I was doing something at the magic mirror and I was like oops sorry and starting heading over there, and they finished combat before I even got there. I am providing no purpose combat, there's literally no reason for me to be there. And now I can't unsee this and it's really kind of killing my enjoyment of the game.
Is this a build issue? We're playing on classic as the difficulty, as I hadn't played this game since it came out and tactician seemed like the kind of thing we'd want to actually be creating real character builds for, but combat hasn't even come close to challenging us at all yet, it's gotten to the point where we've even just abandoned our companions and are just playing with the two of us and I still can't seem to contribute anything.
We're only like halfway though act 2, is this just a matter of needing to wait for the games difficulty to start ramping up or do I need to go back to the drawing board and actually try to make a build?

Me and my buddy were playing honor mode duo with lone wolfs. He was dedicated killer with backstabs as custom elf and i was full support mage fane. We went through whole first act extremely easily, went to alexander and killed him and 2 more enemies in first turn (my friend did while i was playing dead from the start). I fully buffed my teammate during dialogue and he still had most of the buffs but not speed and additional magic and physical armor, so i get up and get closer to him while reapplying all of his armor and adding regenerative armor as well as reapplying speed. Then voidworm relocates closer to us and kills us both with one attack. That was more then brutal. What exactly went wrong? Is it some cruel script or its okay for ambush enemy to oneshot whole party?

I've played this game like 8 times already and to make the game more fun I usually try new and unorthodox builds.
For example, one of the builds I've had is retribution maxing, with all the items that give + retribution and having additional damage returned to enemies. I'd just jump in the middle of the fight, use necromancer invulnerability on myself, use shackles of pain on the strongest enemy and use decay on myself. And just drank giant health potions to kill them in one turn XD.
Or the most recent one was when I completed the game with 1 character in Honour mode: I made an mage-assasin build where I'd combine my daggers with poison barrels and use abilities that gave me magic damage on-hit. That was very interesting I had a very hybrid damage output and could kill anyone easily.
What about you? Did you think of any interesting builds?

I'm stuck in Act 4 and can't progress at all, so I thought, what if I start a new game and make a party of only necromancers? It's physical damage, it drains life, it should work, right? ;;;-;;;
If this actually works, I'd like some tips on how to put this to work ;;;-;;;

Hello so I started playing divinity 1 just a week ago with my friend, we have been doing co-op and he usually leads and does the heavy lifting while I stay back as a mage and craft stuff for the party, I really like the crafting in this game, like turning scraps into armor and making a profit out of it is one of the most fun activities I had for this game, however I am new relatively new to dnd and I am planning to start a single player playthrough, but I am also a bit overwhelmed by how the combat might be if I am to control all 4 party members,
But besides that are there any tips for me as a mage? Like what attributes are good, traits, some crafting exploits, combat help, and how to become filthy rich?

There is a head that I can never seem to reach. Is it possible or just a thing that I should let go?
