It finally happened to me.

30 minute drive from a tobacco store. I’ve been burned before by kids ordering from this place, so before picking up orders, I always send a message to the customer to tell them to have their ID ready and do not pick up until they reach out. This customer said okay.

I pick up the order, make the long trek out there. She’s refusing to show me her ID. Okay, so I turn to walk off. She grabbed me by my hair, flung me against the wall and smacked the back of my head and then began to choke me with her arm before snatching the package and going inside while I ran to the car. I saw her come back out with something and sped off.

Spent the last hour with police right outside the apartment complex in a VERY nice neighborhood. Response time was literally 30 seconds into the call.

Anyway. I did not report the item as delivered, so she’s now headed to jail for assault and robbery over $10 of cigars she planned on using for blunts. I didn’t get paid for completing the delivery even though DoorDash said I would be, and now I don’t even want to dash for the rest of the night because my head hurts and I made the police give me the product back to return to the store 30 minutes away.

Ugh.

It's not a tip, it's a bid.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if the "tip" comes before service, it's not a tip, it's a bid for service.

Although, you're free to not make a bid and wait while all the Dashers decline the order until some poor sucker gets tricked into delivering cold food. That's your prerogative.

Ordered Arby’s. They didn’t give me curly fries and the translation cracked me up.

To whoever you were last night that delivered my stuff to the Tennesseen Truckstop( Dollys truckstop) you helped me immensely. I know it was hella late and I apologize for that. I had a severe allergic reaction earlier in the day after falling out my trailer onto my back( had to jab my epi pen into my leg and take a shit ton of benedryl and my antihistamine meds and lost my balance on a slick spot on the floor) I’m a long haul trucker so the like 8 items I had ordered helped me so so much! Thank you for delivering that stuff to me and for asking if I was okay after you seen how swollen my face was. I promise im okay. I actually made it to my delivery this morning. Thank you again and I really hope that the 20$ tip was enough. You drove 5 miles (to and from the store) to get to me and I really do appreciate it. I apologize if I seemed a bit snippy or out of it. You mentioned you had a Reddit after I seen the little Reddit guy on your car so I hope you see this. Thank you again and I hope whoever you were have an amazing day.

It won’t stop saying this. I even verified it just to get back on the road and it’s still saying this DoorDash is saying I have to update my state but nothing has changed?

(California) DoorDash forced me to take a profile pic. Thought it was just for verification, but I can't see or change it.

I recently moved to California, and when I opened the Dasher app, it made me take a profile picture. I thought it was just for identity verification, so naturally the picture is HORRIBLE lol.
The problem is, when I go to my profile, all I see is the initial of my name instead of the actual photo, and there’s no option to change it. Apparently, customers can see this awful picture, but I can’t even see it myself.
I reached out to support, and they kept telling me that I’m the only one who can change it. I explained about 20 times that THERE IS NO OPTION TO CHANGE IT 😭 Even when I go to edit my profile, it still just shows my initial.
Has anyone in California dealt with this? How did you manage to change your picture? This is literally preventing me from dashing LOL.

Quick Question

It's been awhile since I had ordered Doordash because I just can't afford the fees anymore. However, I was given a DD Giftcard for my birthday yesterday and ordered KFC last night. KFC is 1.2 miles away and its a straight shot on a 45 mile an hour road, with only 1 light. There is also a decent bicycle path on that road. So when it showed up that "Andrea" was delivering on a bicycle, I wasnt completely shocked.

However, instead of cyclist Andrea, it was a somewhat creepy dude in his 50s, driving a 1990 black Chevy Lumina. When I say somewhat creepy, Im referring to his blatant desire to try to see around me and into the room behind me when I opened the door to accept the bag. He also said "having dinner alone tonight?".

Obviously, this does not automatically make him a criminal stalker. Ive met people, heck, Im friends with people who don't always think how something they say may sound completely wrong. They are genuinely confused when you try to point it out because its their misguided attempt and being friendly and making small talk.

If it had just been the case of his roaming eyes and weird small talk, I wouldn't think much of it. However, its that behavior combined with the fact that I didn't get the feeling he was "Andrea" and he certainly wasn't on a bike, that has me asking for another opinion.

Also, there were no other people in the car - so its not like "Andrea" was in the car and he was just doing the legwork.

I dont know if this is worth reporting. The whole encounter just felt off but I don't want to potentially take away someone's livelihood if its just an innocent situation - for example, if that was "Andrea's" boyfriend and she is sick but they needed the money. I know you arent supposed to share accounts but its not something I would report unless there was additional issues.

Then again, if the guy IS up to no good and later hurts someone because no one reported early on suspicious behavior, I would feel immensely guilty.

Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated.

Oh, I doubt it matters in this situation but it seems like someone always mentions it - My order came to $21.46 and I tipped $8.54 for the 1.2 mile trip. I did NOT rescind the tip and I have no intentions of doing so. Regardless of my unease surrounding encounter, I received my meal efficiently and correctly - which is the job. So the tip stays.

It was a $17/2 mile order 😕🤷🏽‍♀️

Her food was only $7 so even if DoorDash doesn’t reimburse me, I still made $10 on a 2 mile order (4 miles if you include the mileage for me to get back home)… I’ll take it

Not being asked about substitutions

This is the second time someone has told me that my substitution was out of stock and then checked out 2 second later. (I heard the buzz of the substitution out of stock as the phone was in my hand, and before I could answer, dasher checked out). Dasher said he had messaged and called me but I have no calls or messages in or out of app. My order had only three items. Is this a doordash glitch or dasher laziness? I have had dashers send me photos of what is in stock and replied right away, so I know it can be done. Yes I tip well ($6 or 20-25% of the order value, whatever is higher, and the place is 5 minutes from me). Yes I am “lazy”. But I have had a bunch of back surgeries that make each trip a painful chore, especially on the weekend after working 50 hours during the week. Luckily doordash was able to block this dasher from shopping for me and gave me credits. Because I do tip well and use DoorDash a lot. This has only been a problem in the last month. So dasher fault or app fault? Does the dasher maybe have no idea how to use the app? Is this an app glitch that needs to be reported (it has only happened in the last month).

edit: I have also had times I have chosen multiple substitutions, and the dasher said they never saw them. This time, I think they saw them, but said they were also out of stock. But in every case, the dasher never contacted me about problems until they were actively checking out.

edit: Also if the doordasher has to contact me about a substitution I tip extra at the end of the order. If we have a nice short conversation when they drop off the order, extra tip. But basically I want to know if this is a doordash issue or dasher issue

DOORDASH should require an aptitude test or at least an interview. If you're deemed an idiot you're banned from the platform.

There are drinks in there. IT'S SO FUNNY HOW MAD THE DOORDASH DRIVERS ARE IN THE COMMENTS. LMAO. WHY Y'ALL MAD AT ME? IT WAS ONE OF YOUR PEOPLE! ALL THE GO GET THE FOOD YOURSELF, LAZY, OR JUST GO OUT THE BACK DOOR AND GO AROUND, OR OPEN THE DOOR SLOWLY (LIKE ANYONE KNEW THE ORDER WAS PINNED UP AGAINST THE DOOR) THIS FURTHER PROVES MY POINT. 🤣😂🤣😂

PUBLIC CERVIX ANNOUNCEMENT: The Doordash Community will come after you if they mess up.

Refund refused and food delivered to wrong address

• Upvotes

How do I talk to a human in support on door dash. We rarely order. My teen ordered last night. Food delivered to wrong address. Was found 12 hours later and spoiled. The app refuses a refund. No option to talk to a human.

Used a reward for some money off but wanted to still tip. Nope, not allowed to exceed 20% apparently. Will throw the driver a few bucks if I catch them.

Ever find a bike lock in your pizza?

Ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut via DoorDash and when I opened the box the pizza was heaped up. I looked at the bottom of the box to see if it had been crushed, but it was still fine. Then I noticed black coils and thought it might be a snake underneath the pizza. But upon further inspection it was a dull bike lock under my pizza.

If you order DoorDash, tell us why

I see a lot of threads judging people for paying outrageous prices for getting food delivered.

We all know there’s lots of reasons. Maybe you’re working. Maybe you don’t have a car. Maybe you are disabled. Maybe you’re wealthy and don’t mind the financial consequences. Maybe you’re just lazy.

Tell us why you order DoorDash!

Sending me these orders from ppl who dont tip, then asking a mf to weigh out the bag and all this extra stuff is the reason i quit doordash in the fist place

I tried tro keep doordash going full time, i used to take home mad money, but then it got slow, cheap, and depressing. They want you to accept every order, but its looking like every order is now the same, 3-4 dollar orders, having you travel 6 miles out, then having to travel 6 miles back in all just to wait another 20 to 30 min for another order even tho the map says 3 min for an order. Mind you its summer time and where i live its 98 degrees outside, 2 weeks ago it was 102, cant really sit there with the car off. Then they wonder why my acceptance rate is so low. Doordash has possibly been one of the worst companies i have ever worked for in my entire life. Its honestly been hell. They have a bad record of stealing our tips which is diabolical. They got sued for it but i have a strong feeling that didnt stop them from doing it again. They only payed so much in that lawsuit, this is a multi million dollar company stealing tips from the people that are trying to grow that company, its actually crazy man. They are 1: either stealing our tips again or 2: the customers aren't tipping correctly. I think i already know the answer to this and i think they are stealing our tips. I had a dude order kfc and he was working legit 10 miles away from this kfc. (He works at an amazon facility in the middle of no where) so i get this order for 7 bucks and im thinkin, you know maybe he tipped more and its hiding the full ammount, ima go for it, or he has cash for me. Nahhhh, turns out, bro only tipped 1 dollar..., and im sayin to myself, no way this dude just really only tipped me a dollar for driving this far this aint right bruh and he knows it if he really did only tip me that much,. But i met up with him and he seemed confident like you know not feeling like a jack@$$ that only tipped 1 dollar... but yeah only a dollar. I think they are stealing our tips again man and its sad

I was scammed

I decided to take one more order before heading home. It was a KFC order directly on the way. Right after I accepted the offer I got a call from DoorDash saying the order was fraud and to unassign myself. I hung up on him because I kneww it was a scam. He called back and my husband told me to answer. He repeated the same thing so I did it just cause I was over it and ready to go home. He said I will send you a verification code now, tell me the code so I can adjust your ratings back and make sure you get proportional pay for the order. I told him the code like a complete moron and immediately I was logged out of my account. He said to get my account back, I needed to accept his FaceTime call so he can “verify my identity” and then screen share me logging into cashapp. I did neither and hung up again and immediately called DoorDash support with my husbands phone. While on the phone with support the scammy guy called my phone back and I recorded the call of him basically threatening saying things like “i hear you’re talking to DoorDash support on another phone. They cannot help you I have all the control. You will have to do as I say or you won’t get your account and earnings back.” The DoorDash support lady heard everything he said as well and put me on hold so she could “escalate to a specialized team”
My husband started yelling at the guy scammer and they went back and forth arguing while call was still being recorded. Eventually the guy was like “well good luck talking to support I will just keep all your money and your account, who’s the big dog now” and hung up
I had $1000 on there, I tried to withdraw it through my PayPal account and it was declined. I called crimson support and they couldn’t help me because they couldn’t even find my account since the guy changed my login and account credentials to his own.
I am well aware of how idiotic we were. I just want to know who else had this scam happen to them and actually got their account and money back. And could I go to the police with this recorded call or would they not be able to do anything about it

Weird drop off

Hi all. I just had a weird door dasher experience. My dasher dropped the food off, took a picture, and then picked the food up afterwards. However, I found my order on the front porch. I have video proof of this but I don’t have video of her putting it back down. Is there a reason behind this?

Heavy Items?

I order groceries through door dash because I’m disabled. I am always grateful for the people willing to do this work so I always want to treat the dasher with respect. I always worry about my order being too heavy for the dasher. Is there a way to order heavy items so that the dasher is prepared to handle it (for example maybe they have a cart)?

r/doordash • • 5h ago

Would yall have taken this order?

I definitely did not, didn't even say what the item was for Dick's. It could have been a huge decoration that wouldn't fit in my car. 2 hours to shop and drive 27 miles? Hell no

Location issue for PDX area Dashers

Just a heads up. Raleigh Hills/ Beaverton, OR has a Taco Bell on SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway and the app says Beaverton Avenue. It's caused my husband to lose orders in the past, fortunately he figured it out and manually reroutes the GPS.

Both Google and Apple maps will route you to the wrong location where there is no Taco Bell.

Are there any other phantom location glitches in the area that he should know about?
