New Canadiens Fan from Trinidad 🇹🇹🏒 — Looking to Connect and Learn About the Team!
Hey everyone!
I’m from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 and I’ve recently become a fan of the Montreal Canadiens! I’m still pretty new to hockey and learning about the team, its history, the players, and the sport in general.
I’d love to connect with some fellow Habs fans who wouldn’t mind sharing their knowledge, recommending players to follow, explaining the team’s biggest rivalries, or just talking hockey with me.
I know I’m a long way from Montreal, but I’d love to become more involved in the fanbase and learn what makes this team so special.
If anyone is interested in chatting or helping a new fan get into the Habs, feel free to comment or send me a message. I’d really appreciate it!
Go Habs Go! 🔵⚪🔴🇨🇦

The Habs have signed a 51 year-old hockey player to a PTO: he’s from Laval, he once had a promising college career at University of Vermont but ultimately went undrafted by the NHL in the 90s

Canadiens practice dates and time
Would anyone know if the Habs are practicing in Brossard between the Buffalo and San Jose game?

David Reinbacher today on his confidence level: “It’s stayed the same. I’m pretty confident in myself and what I’m capable of doing. Now I just gotta play the way I did in the last couple of weeks and that’s it. Don’t change anything. Just be yourself out there and have fun.”

4 losses this year:

Friendly reminder to everyone proposing trades in this sub
When healthy, the Habs don't even quite have $2.5million in cap space. As of right now, with guys injured and others being called up, the team only has $757,649 in cap space. Any trade the Habs make would need to be in line with the salary cap, so it's not an option to trade just prospects and draft picks for roster players (unless you're also proposing to put roster players for the Habs on waivers).
Hage for Larkin? Not gonna work unless you can clear another $7,942,351 in cap space. That means either Hutson or Dobson is gonna need to go the other way in that trade, too. Or two or more other roster players.
You want Konecny? He comes at about the same cost as Larkin. The Habs are gonna need to clear another $7,992,351. Even trading any one guy on the first line (Caufield, Suzuki, Slafkovsky) won't be enough to get the trade done. You'd need to throw someone else in the mix on top of any one of them to make the trade happen. Or, again, trade either Hutson or Dobson one-for-one for Konecny.
You want the Habs to trade for Elias Petterson? You're also gonna need to clear another $10,842,351 in cap space to do that. No one Habs player has that large a cap hit, so you're gonna need to pick at least two roster players to go the other way in any trade you propose, not just draft picks and prospects.

Discussion No Trade Clause -Four Big Leagues- Very Interesting
NHL:320
MLB: 35
NFL: 8
NBA: 2
Why? Do the NBA and NFL have it right?
Was listening to the 690 this afternoon and they were talking about this. When a Hellybuck or a Larkin situation arrises the teams loses leverage. It’s a self inflicted thing that the owners do to themselves. They were talking about changing a clause in the collective agreement and if suddenly a person wants to be traded they would give a lost of 10 teams. The no trade clause in a contract just ties teams hands! You than are in a compromising sitution!
I thought it was an interesting
take. Even Bettman said that No Trade clauses were not meant to work the way they are. Do you like the idea of the player providing a list of 10 teams? What do you astute people think?

Discussion Jakub Dobes was said to have had a good practice today
The person recording described that he kept things simple in front of the net and stayed inside of his zone. Do you think the Dobes rebound is coming?
