๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Keratin Treatment Gone Wrong than 24 hours

Hello yesterday I got a keratin treatment. It hadnโ€™t been 5 hours and my hair was puffy when I took my daughter to the zoo about 3 hours later. Now I do admit I went out that night I did sweat a little. This was my hair this morning and this the turtle neck is now. I called the salon, they were nice and said come Saturday and they will do the whole treatment again. My question is that good for my hair to get treatment so soon? Is the keratin ruined? Why on earth did it puff up so much? Itโ€™s not like I went exercising. I was wearing braids for years and I got tired of it. I have never been able t keep a silk press at all, I thought keratin would work. I paid $400. Iโ€™m not blaming the stylist, she was great. Just asking if itโ€™s safe to get again so soon? And maybe answers if this happened to anyone before. My hair is 4C VERY THICK AND LOTS OF SHRINKAGE. 1st pic is while blowout. 2nd is done still at shop, o got my ends clipped, and the last pics in turtle neck were taken a sec ago. Any advice on what I should do? TIA

This is how it turned out today but the thing is it turned too frizzy after sometime and it was overwhelming so I had to tie it up. Please gimme some suggestions and advice to avoid frizz and make smoother. My hair is not exactly curly naturally but kind of wavy between straight and curly

โ„๏ธ Dandruff/Scalp Advice โ„๏ธ Does getting enough sleep actually help keep your hair healthy and prevent dandruff?

I've been wondering if getting enough sleep has anything to do with keeping your hair and scalp healthy, especially when it comes to dandruff. Most of the hair care advice I see is about using the right shampoo, conditioner, or scalp treatments. But I rarely see people talk about whether having a good sleep schedule makes any difference. My sleep schedule isn't always consistent, and it got me thinking if that could affect my scalp or make dandruff worse. I know stress can sometimes affect your skin, so I'm curious if poor sleep could have a similar effect. I'm not expecting that sleeping 7 to 9 hours every night will magically get rid of dandruff, but I'm wondering if it can at least help prevent flare-ups or improve your hair health over time.

Has anyone noticed less dandruff or healthier hair after improving their sleep schedule? Or does sleep not really have much to do with it?

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฒ Receeding Hairline ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฒ last shot at saving my hairline!!

Iโ€™ve a receding hairline and very bad hairfall problems, damaged also Iโ€™ve tried a lot of shampoos and home remedies but still Every time I wash my hair, the clump in the drain gets bigger. Itโ€™s starting to really mess with my head. I know stress and water quality play a part, but I desperately need to switch my routine. For those of you who actually managed to reduce hair fall and breakage in the shower, what products did you switch to? Need real answers, not just Instagram ad hype.

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Best Route for Hair Grow Out

โ€ข Upvotes

Okay so I am currently trying to grow my hair out after having a baby almost 5 months ago. I currently have cool brown hair (naturally) with bright blonde highlights. I have been getting my hair done for years but I just need a more low maintenance situation right now. Would it be best to just let it grow and suffer the blonde grow out OR is there a gloss/semi permanent product that I could use every once in a while? Probably something like a warm brown since that is typically what I would dye my hair when I go a little darker. Thanks in advance!

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Need some advice after my first perm

โ€ข Upvotes

Hi!

I posted about my perm a few days ago. I was freaking out. I did my first wash and put in a gel and let it air dry. I am low maintenance, so this is what I can do.

This is my hair.

The lower part is almost straight. I have one piece of completely straight hair in the back. I know it'll be a little frizzy, but how do I fix this? She already cut 4 inches off and I am not willing to cut more than an inch and a half off. Absolutely not more than that. I was thinking about long layers. I NEED to be able to braid my hair back without tucking in a million short pieces. It is essential. What will help? Did she mess this up? Should I ask for a refund? They were sooooo nice :(.

How do I fix this?

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ My hair confuses me! Is this a hormonal issue or a damage issue?

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I have naturally tight curly hair. The first photo is what the front (crown) of my hair looks like after washing and conditioning, and with a bit of curl cream. The roots are extremely frizzy for some reason. The ends are damaged, but not as dry or frizzy. The second photo is hair from the back of my head. Itโ€™s not nearly as frizzy, and it curls!

Im not sure if this is damage since the new growth is frizzy, limp, and wonโ€™t curl. Iโ€™m not sure if this means itโ€™s hormonal since the back of my hair is fine.

If anyone has any advice on how I should approach trying to fix this!

I have tried protein treatments, they donโ€™t do too much. I was thinking maybe olaplex 3?

Thank you for your help!

๐Ÿ”Ž Product Question ๐Ÿ”Ž Has anyone here used Sun In?

I was shocked to find that Sun In is still around! I saw it in Target! My mom was surprised too - she used it in the 80s.
What is your experience with it?

โšก๏ธ Frizzy Hair โšก๏ธ Can Olaplex no.6 dry out 2A hair?

my hair very recently changed from straight with minimal waves to a hair that has these coarse wirey kinky pubic hair like strands. I did all the tests needed and everything looked normal so iโ€™m just assuming my hair is now becoming wavier. However, iโ€™ve been experimenting with products lately, and was wondering if using Olaplex no6 on virgin hair that hasnt been colored or chemically treated, would add further damage to my hair.

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Shampoo recommendation

I have type 2A wavy hair, and my scalp is slightly oily, but not excessively so. Whenever I wash my hair, it becomes flat, and for some reason, it feels a little greasy. Iโ€™m currently using Dove Intense Repair shampoo, but it really doesnโ€™t suit my hair.

Could you guys recommend the best shampoo for my hair type? Iโ€™m a student, so my budget is around โ‚น500โ€“600.

๐Ÿ”Ž Product Question ๐Ÿ”Ž Messy baby hair.. hairline :(

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I used this product in the past, twice. So once in 2024 and then another time in early 2025. Each time i took the 3 months program.

The thing is.. now i have a bunch of tiny baby hairs coming out from my hairline and they don't seem to grow more than 3cm or 6cm. It's just been like this for almost one year.

I started taking it because i was losing lots of hair, my hair was getting thinner than usual so i got scared. But now my issue is those baby hair constantly dancing in my forehead, i can't control them at all. If i use my hands too much to move them to both sides they start getting oily (my hair is oily after a few hours of washing).

When i go out it looks like i didn't take care of my hair, i look like whatever.. just because of those hairs. Anyone in the same situation or do you have a good tip to help? I really don't know what to do anymore..

Ty so much in advance!

โ„๏ธ Dandruff/Scalp Advice โ„๏ธ very itchy hair for days

Title says everything. even if I oil my hair before showering, it won't itch for only one day and it starts itching again

Could anyone recommend a CHEAP advise for these? I can't afford branded shampoos, always get cheap ones

(Note: cause of my skin disease, I can't shower in hot water as flares my face up really easily, and I don't have medicine for this)

โšก๏ธ Frizzy Hair โšก๏ธ Advice regarding changing the shampoo for F23

i have oily hairs like i need to wash my hairs every third day and they get super frizzy. and i also moved my place and here water is more harsher felt the need to change my products so first i added dove peptide hair mask and along with that 72H hyaluronic moisture conditioner. For like one two times i used these i felt the need to change my shampoo as well like my hairs were a little less frizzy at the ends and but at the roots it didn't feel right. So, i changed my shampoo from clinic plus to loreal 72H hyaluronic pure. But as i changed the shampoo, my hair got oily in just two days i need to wash them the third day. I mean is it fine?? or i need to change the shampoo i just washed my hair with the new shampoo only twice and i am afraid and don't know what to do as this is my first time like changing hair products. So yeah, do advice on what i can do or if i am going wrong somewhere . Thanks in advance.

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Why does my hair look like this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

My 2C very thick wavy hair is dry, frizzy, and dull. It gets super poofy when I brush it. I'm completely heat-free, but it still feels damaged. I have blonde highlights. I'm looking for product recommendations. I have low porosity roots and high porosity lengths. My routine is literally just shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner/wave cream. If Iโ€™m being honest idk what Iโ€™m doing and Iโ€™ve only really started caring about my hair until very recently. What should I change? Should I start using heat on my hair?

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ Best hair straightener for curly/wavy hair: Philips vs Remington?

Hi everyone! I have naturally curly/wavy hair and Iโ€™m planning to buy a hair straightener. Iโ€™ve shortlisted these three options:

  1. Philips BHS530/03
  2. Remington Shine Therapy Pro
  3. Remington Curl & Straight Confidence

My main goal is to get sleek, straight, frizz-free hair that stays straight for a good amount of time, without making my hair feel dry or damaged.

If youโ€™ve used any of these straighteners, especially on curly or wavy hair, please share your experience! Which one gives the best results, leaves hair shiny, and works well in humid weather?

Iโ€™d really appreciate your recommendations and honest reviews. Thank you! ๐Ÿ’—

๐Ÿšฉ Advice Needed ๐Ÿšฉ My hair used to be pretty thick, not its not. Is there hope?

Looking back at my pictures from when I was like 10 or 11, I had pretty thick hair (no visible scalp). Now recently, about when I was 13-14 Iโ€™ve noticed more visible scalp. Iโ€™m now 15 and I want to fix my hair. I have probably 1b hair.

I think my hair has gotten thinner due to my habits like using shampoo every day and idk, putting body wash in my hair? (Science purposes)

I stopped using shampoo every day around when I was 14.

Last week, my mom also started putting a mixture of coconut oil and rosemary, stating it would help, and she puts that 2 times a week.

Is there hope?

Off topic, but Iโ€™m tryna get a mod cut, how do i convince my mom that texture powder isnโ€™t that bad, pr if there are other good alternatives for my hair that for now, can hide my scalp.
