DISCUSSION Can we all just agree that child abuse is wrong and period?
All of what John's parents did to their children is disgusting

It was stated that because he’s the only human, and all the rest are aliens, that no one liked him and he didn’t get along with any of them. Just kinda unfortunate because in the comics he was definitely friends with a lot of them, I supposed they just changed that up for some reason

I’ve seen people online saying Lanterns didn't use the full oath in the trailer, but after testing it myself, I realized there's actually only one version of the oath they used the whole time. The one in the trailer is the exact same recording as the one in Episode 2. I slowed Ep 2 version down for comparison (the first one saying is from the trailer, the second one follow is from Ep 2). All they did was slow down the audio and make some slight edits. The most obvious proof is how Kyle Chandler says "Beware my power"as it sounds exactly the same. You just can't say the same phrase at two different speeds and have every inflection match like that naturally. My guess is they wanted to build hype for the trailer, so the editor just recycled the only version they had on hand. I was kinda bummed out by because I was really hoping Hal would say the oath in an Injustice 2-style moment to power up, or that we’d see him saying it for the very first time. Sadly, that didn't happen,Hal just speed run through it all(which is still cool). Anyway, that’s just my little rant. What do you guys think?

This was at the very end of the first teaser. Obviously it was deleted, but I’m simply curious as to why it’s gone, and where it would’ve taken place in the narrative.
Obviously this is just fun speculation, but still.

In the superhero verse RDJ as Tony, Hugh as Wolverine , Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as cap were some slick decisions.
But this show was fcking rad. Kyle chandler is literally perfect casting. Watched every episode weekly when it came out and throughly enjoyed it.
Please for the love of god do not take 3 years to make season 2.

Loved the show, every minute. I'm glad the show was grounded as the DCU just started, it made the Corps feel mysterious, seeing yellow represent fear on John's lantern was exciting, it was exciting hearing them tease Atrocitus and the red lanterns, it was exciting hearing them tease either Parallax or Blackest Night. I don't want everything right away and if they don't have the time or money to make a fantastical Green Lantern show then so be it! The show was good and I loved how they did both characters (though I agree Hal's death could habe been better.) I'm excited for season two.

When Hal said “Don't be afraid to be afraid,” it's been stuck in my head ever since.
At first it almost sounds like a contradiction. If you're afraid, aren't you supposed to overcome the fear?
But I think there's something deeper going on.
Fear itself isn't necessarily the problem. The problem is what we do when we interpret fear as a command.
I'm afraid, therefore I shouldn't.
I'm afraid to fail, so I don't try.
I'm afraid of being judged, so I hide parts of myself.
I'm afraid of discovering I'm not good enough, so I never really commit to anything.
And eventually fear doesn't just control individual decisions. It starts determining the boundaries of your entire life.
That's what makes the Green Lantern concept so interesting to me.
Willpower isn't about never experiencing fear. It's about having fear present and still choosing what you're going to do.
And that got me thinking.
How much of your life is being determined by the things you're scared of?
Especially now, when we're constantly surrounded by information designed to trigger fear and keep us playing small.
Fear can shrink your world without you even noticing.
You stop taking risks.
You stop experimenting.
You stop expressing yourself.
You stop pursuing things you actually care about.
You start confusing “I don't want to” with “I'm afraid to.”
But then Sinestro offers another perspective on fear that I found interesting:
“The Lantern Corps thinks that fear makes you weak. They couldn't be more wrong. If harnessed correctly, fear can be the most powerful force in the universe.”
Fear isn't necessarily something that needs to be destroyed. The problem is when you give it the steering wheel.
That's what makes John's new oath so hard:
“I'll embrace my fear. I'll do what's right. I choose this ring. I choose this fight.”
You don't have to become fearless.
Maybe you just have to become willing to feel fear without automatically obeying it.
Because fear can be incredibly powerful.
The question is whether you are going to decide where that power goes.

Just watched emerald knights and John complaining about Hal’s training is so ironic.
Given that when Hal got his ring and went to Oa he was either trained by Kilowog or hell Deegan and thus went through just as much and likely more life threatening training scenarios without even access to his ring then the initial car off a cliff he hit John with lol.
I hope in the coming season 2 we meet more green lantern corps members so John can learn a bit more about Hal and just how great he was.
I have no doubt that Hal was totally unaware of just how much he mattered to other members of the corps.

Hi all! As a long time superhero/Green Lantern fan and working goldsmith, I thought with the release of Lanterns that it would be a great opportunity to finally make myself the a GL ring! This ring is inspired by but not identical to Hal’s ring from Lanterns, taking inspiration from the Gold top piece and general shaping. The body of the ring is a single rolled out piece of oxidised sterling silver, and the logo is 9kt yellow gold with an emerald set in the centre and filled with green resin. Thanks for having a look :)

Anyone know where I can get a knockoff of Hal’s RL jacket in the US? I saw the other post that looks awesome but shipping arrival is Nov 3-12. My son really wants to be Hal. Thanks!

Ignoring the battery % lets say he was capable of doing something before popping back to John.
Of course going back to Sinestro was an idea but with the portal gone probably not. Another he projected to his contact in Guadalajara, so it can be anybody they want, someone who watches or at least aware of the John and Noah situation.
Do you guys have any?
