Personal Care 🚿 Today I’m going to stay in bed all day!
Why?
Because I live alone and do whatever I want.

I’ve lived with no one else for over 2 years, when my ex finally moved out and my youngest went off to college. However, I had my dog, Baxter. He was a momma’s boy all his 15 years. Yesterday I had to put him to sleep. It was so, so hard. Today I had to get out of the house because I kept looking at spot where he was lying when the home visit vet gave him his final shot. When I came home I didn’t want to come into the empty house. I wanted the house in the divorce because of Baxter. Even with the tv on today the house is just so quiet and I don’t want to be here by myself.

This is Warrior Rock Lighthouse. It’s the smallest lighthouse in Oregon. About a 6.5 mile out and back hike. It’s flat and easy, if a bit boring most of the way. Still a nice quiet walk as only a few people came out into the rain this morning.

Now I'm walking around the apartment naked and drinking wine. Life is 😌👌

Sorry but I gotta brag about dinner tonight. Roasted chicken breast with sautéd portobello mushrooms and tomatoes in a white garlic sauce over fettuccine pasta. Omg it was awesome. Made too much so I get to eat it again.

Have any of you gone to a concert alone before? My friends who were going to come can’t make it last minute due to one being in the hospital and their partner needs to stay with them. I’ve asked all of my other friends, but everyone is either busy or sick themselves.

What's everyone up to? It's 2 AM here gaming up all night. What about you? What's the rest of your night/day look like? What time is it there?

I went to Ikea yesterday and bought 3 Billy bookshelves and one Billy drawer. Put them all together today, partially emptied my existing shelves, moved them to their rightful places and it looks beautiful!
It's 4pm here, I'm going to wash them, add in the shelves and that's me done for today. Putting all the books back in tomorrow. It's gonna be amazing.
And I didn't need any man's help. My mum helped me load them in the car but everything else was all me.
Top picture is before, bottom is after.
YAY ME!!! 🥳

That feels embarrassing because I am 25 and I’ve done a lot of things by myself. Most people consider me to be a high achiever and someone who is independent. However, I’m too afraid to move out and live on my own. My main fear is feeling lonely and developing depression or something like that. On the other hand though, living with my parents suck and I suspect that is making me sick mental health wise

I’m a first generation American with immigrant parents and in my home country, people just cannot conceive the idea of a person living alone. Fuck that, they can’t even imagine being alone for one day! They think it’s such a horrible thing for a person to be alone and cannot understand why someone might want that. They think there’s something wrong with you if you don’t go an hour without social interaction. It’s so exhausting having to deal with such a culture.
I feel so lucky and blessed to have been raised in America where the idea of living alone is not only welcomed, but prized as a luxury you should strive to have. I don’t think people realize how healing and therapeutic it can be to feel completely free in your own house, never be bothered by what others are doing, never have to tell anyone anything or negotiate things, and be the boss of your own life.
Sadly I cannot afford to live alone in America because I’m Gen Z and we got priced out of that, and my only affordable option is to go live alone in my parents’ country, where people are never going to shut up about how weird it is that I live alone.
Sigh.

4 years ago I rescued this plant from the yard of a house that was demolished in my neighbourhood. It was in really bad shape as it had been neglected for a very long time and I didn't think it would live. At the time I was living with my ex and it never bloomed. I've been living alone for 10 months now and today I woke up to this unbelievably gorgeous flower
These days I don't find much joy in things, I'm very depressed and lonely but this flower made my heart so full. I can't express how much joy I feel seeing it finally bloom. I hope you all like it 😊

Preface this by saying you can have it without living alone.
I am a sapiosexual 63 female living in a red state in small town midwest USA. That's one hurdle. For a variety of reasons I have lost most of my friend group and my 2 besties (one 81 and one 54) are not the people to quench this, God love them. My parents (not close to my mom) are the 2 people I have the most in common with.
Anyway. I have niche interests, insatiable curiosity and the capability for awe. I will also watch body cam videos on YouTube so I am not all high brow. I read a lot and different kinds of books. TV, film, art, science, botany, tech, blah blah blah.
When I get moved I have no one to share it with. Used to be my dad but he's not well. I used to blog but that's dead.
Does anyone else suffer from this? I'm on a lot of niche subs but I get tired of typing.
I love living alone. It's the not having friends or a partner (who doesn't live with me!) to day LOOK! to.
There's no real solution I guess. Can anyone commiserate?

I’ve lived alone for past six years but never felt the sting as much as this year! Half of my friend group is married and they were still pretty social but now one is pregnant, one is doing fertility treatment, others have their various excuses. But I’ve realized: oh shit, I really am alone.
This weekend I’m off and only thing they wanted to do was go for a walk on Sunday. Halloween plans just got cancelled cause nobodies interested. I’m also single and never prioritized dating/marriage (aromantic, I am semi dating someone lol).
So ya…I think it’s starting to look like I’ll have to find other ways to be alone cause clearly I can’t prioritize my social circle anymore. Tips and tricks for those living alone who also have no friends (or friends who want to go out haha).

I realized today that i've started narrating what i'm doing out loud and talking to my apartment plants and honestly it's kind of concerning lol. is this a normal thing that happens to everyone or am i losing my mind?

I can deal with solitude pretty easily, but this touch starvation is brutal.
Im choosing to not date for now (and yes, it is a choice) and will not be getting pets as it is not a good time for that at present.
My friends are scattered all over multiple states and life, work, etc has resulted in relocation.
What do yall do?
Edit to clarify- this is not a sex thing.

I like living alone. But….. my work Christmas party, I would like a friend / date to go with me . I am not dating, and don’t want to. I have friends and family. Many activities I do . I could ask a friend to join , but never feels right. I don’t want to miss it either. I sometimes wish a could rent a date . Just for one night . No funny business. Just conversation. No I don’t want an escort. OLD is terrible. I don’t meet men in the wild , even though I go out a lot . I keep thinking I will meet someone when I meet someone. I am ok even if I don’t. How do you handle a party ?

Now as I am closing this chapter
I feel I am not longer attached to anyone
I served my duty
I got molested by some
But now I can only think of me
Because now
I will be waving good bye to them

Like seriously, I fear that places now sort of, try to VERIFY if you're doing it for an attended event of some sort rather than just you -- because maybe/probably someone on tiktok figured this idea out before me.... hmmmm...
They say you're a new person each day so technically I meet the 6 people minimum...
I'm getting big into freezing but unfortunately freezer space is damn expensive. But wouldn't this be lovely from say , chipotle. have a couple days straight of it til you tire of it, freeze the rice+beans+tortillas+salsas+guac....basically everything except the sour cream could reasonably be frozen? Or hell could all of it be frozen? Even lettuce may kind of survive...
