Asus Tandem WOLED PG32UCWM r/Monitors Giveaway Event

Hello r/Monitors!

We’re giving away one ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCWM. It boasts the latest Tandem WOLED featuring RGB Stripe pixel technology, bringing OLED’s deep blacks together with improved text and image clarity. We’ll have one winner for the monitor, plus three additional winners who will each receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Whether you’re into competitive gaming, display technology, or just interested in trying out something new, feel free to enter!

Key Features

Primary RGB Tandem 2.0

Primary RGB Tandem is a device technology that replaces the three-layer structure of the existing OLED device — Blue, Yellow, Blue — by splitting the Yellow layer into Green and Blue, thereby stacking pure Red, Green, and Blue into four independent layers. This enhances brightness and color gamut while improving power efficiency. After the launch of Primary RGB Tandem 1.0 in 2025, Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 was introduced in 2026, featuring a refined device structure and driving algorithms for even greater performance.

RGB Stripe Subpixel Layout & 140PPI — Sharper Text, Truer Color

A true RGB Stripe subpixel layout means sharper text and more accurate color. Paired with a 140 PPI UHD resolution, every icon, line of text, and fine detail renders with exceptional clarity. It goes beyond conventional gaming monitor boundaries, making it equally viable for office and professional applications.

Unparalleled HDR & Enriched Color Depth

True Black 400 certification, up to 1000nits of peak brightness, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and 10-bit color combine to create HDR that's both punchy and accurate.

Perfect Visual Experience in Any Environment

Powered by ultra-low reflection technology, Tandem WOLED achieves an industry-leading reflectance of just 1.1%, maintaining exceptional picture quality — with no black blooming and no color fading — even in bright environments.

Dual Mode & Fastest Response Time

Dual Mode lets you switch between 4K at 240Hz for detail-heavy work or FHD at 480Hz when you need max frame rate. 0.03ms G2G response time — 100 times faster than LCD panels — makes every frame razor-sharp in fast-paced FPS gaming.

Discussion INNOCN GA32V1M MAX, 32 4K mini LED monitor with 2304 dimming zones "glossy", first impressions

• Upvotes

Hi

I just bought this from Aliexpress. Tbh, it was expensive. I will share my impressions as an average users. I don't have the expertise to review this product.

This monitor is supposed to be glossy, but tbh. It sometimes looks glossy, but sometimes looks kind of matte. I think they probably slapped a glossy coating on it, just a theory. Regardless, still looks better than matte for me, I just like glossy panels personally. I would call it semi glossy.

The monitor response times are not as good as oled, there is a bit of ghosting, please note this with local dimming enabled. It is good enough for me though. I mostly just play single player games.

Regarding the local dimming, I am someone that doesn't notice blooming compared to a lot of people. So I did not expect this but local dimming is usable while on desktop. I did not expect this.

There are three modes: low, middle and strong local dimming. The strong does indeed have OLED like blacks but it is way too dim when the scene is on the darker side, did not like that personally. I don't notice any blooming on this mode.

Middle is where it is at, you get much better brightness when it comes to dark scenes, but there is slight blooming and blacks are not oled deep blacks but they are still more than black enough and way better than regular LCDs. Also, this mode seems to have less artifacting while using local dimming for desktop use. When the lights are on, I don't notice the blooming at all. When the lights are off and the display at 100 percent brightness, there is mild blooming but you forget about it, unlike the whole screen being gray like regular IPS with dark scenes.

I would say the local dimming is almost on par with the macbook pro 16, slightly worse.

I am really happy with this monitor tbh. It has some drawbacks, but it is great. I still think OLED is way better. I would not recommend someone to get this over an OLED tbh. I already have an OLED but wanted a second monitor and wanted to try something different. It is better than OLED at watching bright content or bright HDR scenes in a well lit room. I will mostly use this for lots of static type content/work.

Text Review KTC M27P6S Glossy 4K MiniLED First days Impressions

TL;DR: Good, but with some quirks, worth it if you can get it at a good price.

My KTC M27P6S finally arrived. After using it for 2 days I'm going to write my impressions and thoughts.

Manufacturing date: July 2026

Firmware version: EUR-1.0.1

I will compare it to other high end displays like the PG32UQX MiniLED, an LG CX77 OLED, and my old but trusty PG279Q.

I genuinely think that it is a decent product, but with some quirks that I will explain in each section.

IPS Panel

A regular run-of-the-mill modern fast IPS panel.

Like modern IPS monitors, this has some vignetting on the sides, with the edges of the screen appearing slightly darker. This is visible only at an angle or if you sit close to the screen like me.

My PG279Q from 2015 had zero vignetting, my PG32UQX did have it, and the CX OLED has none. My speculation is that this is due to changes in panel manufacturing in recent years.

Not a dealbreaker, but something you will notice if you are used to an old IPS panel like me and sit close.

Glossy Coating

The most interesting thing of this monitor. This model and a few of other INNOCN monitors that are not widely available are the only ones to offer a glossy coating, so this is something that will attract the attention of many people.

The coating is like the coating on LG OLED TVs, so if you've seen one, this is about the same.

It has some sort of anti-reflection layer because reflections are not fully mirror-like (in a good way). The reflections are mostly noticeable on black areas, but they are subdued in intensity, rather than being fully reflected as they would be in a mirror.

Dust is more visible than on a matte coating, and I already left some fingerprints on the corners while I was handling it. I did not test the hardness of the coating, nor do I want to (lol).

Thanks to this, the image quality is excellent, with zero haze from a matte coating and better perceived black levels when there is ambient light.

Compared to the PG32UQX, this is night and day. The PG32UQX had a terrible, very grainy coating; it introduced a lot of graininess to the image, while this one has none.

The PG279Q had a decent light matte coating, almost no graininess, so these are both equally good in their respective ways.

Overall, I liked it. This is the standout feature of this monitor, so for glossy lovers, this is the only option available right now.

While a glossy coating has better image quality than a matte one, I still would not recommend a glossy monitor for someone who does not like reflection or has a bright room.

STW polarizer

This is the second standout feature of this monitor. I was skeptical about this since reading a review, but I can confirm that it has one.

This feature is also very rare in monitors, only very old IPS panels had it, and then manufacturers stopped implementing it.

Compared to the PG32UQX, this is also night and day. The PG32UQX had a lot of blooming at an angle; this has none, it has the same amount of blooming as when looking at the center, or even less. So, very good.

PG32UQX vs PA32UCG Image is not mine, but this is roughly how my PG32UQX looked at an angle. These polarizers make a big difference in reducing blooming and IPS glow.

On a full black screen with local dimming disabled, there is no IPS glow. Everything looks almost uniform, and there isn't any of the usual yellow glow on the corners. Image from Chimolog Review on a black screen, zero ips glow.

I stress-tested the M27P6S at unrealistic angles, and I could only see a very faint magenta tint at the corners in a fully dark room, so this is excellent.

Local dimming

The local dimming algorithm is dark-biased, something that I personally like. Upon enabling it, especially on SDR, you will notice a decrease in overall brightness.

I tested it in both a bright room during the day and a fully dark room.

During the day, it will be very hard to notice the blooming. In a fully dark room, it is noticeable in complex scenes, but somewhat decent, much better than the blooming that my PG32UQX had.

I hated the local dimming on my PG32UQX, it blasted small elements at full brightness, and the blooming was unbearable (video is not mine, but i swear it was like this).

Thankfully, I can confirm that this does not happen with the KTC M27P6S. It reduces the brightness of small elements so they produce much less blooming (and the STW polarizer also helps a lot!).

I know some people won't like that it is dark-biased, but for me this is good.

You can still customize the degree of blooming you want from the OSD with the "Halo control" option, but I did not fiddle with this that much since it was good for me out of the box. For those who like to prioritize brightness over blooming, it's good that you have the option.

For those who want to keep local dimming enabled at all times on SDR, this is actually somewhat usable. My PG32UQX had a lot of inverse blooming, especially on grey backgrounds. This monitor does not seem to have as much, with just some brightness changes when moving windows and opening context menus.

Local dimming does not increase input lag that much on SDR, but it does on HDR. I'm not able to test the exact amount since I do not have the required equipment, but my PG32UQX also had noticeable input lag when using local dimming.

Due to my GPU's performance, I hover around 60 fps with adaptive sync. This means about 60 Hz or even lower, and I can definitely feel it, but the input lag is similar to that of the PG32UQX. You will definitely feel it in first-person shooters. For competitive play, always disable local dimming on any Mini-LED monitor.

Not a dealbreaker for me. Maybe this can be solved with further firmware upgrades, but it is something to take into account.

Local dimming has an "Auto" setting that is Off for an SDR signal and High for an HDR signal. Sadly, I was not able to save different local dimming settings for SDR and HDR signals.

Anyway, I still usually disable local dimming on SDR (unless I'm playing or watching a dark game/video), since, with the coating and the polarizer, the black levels are actually decent, and local dimming introduces some gamma and color changes on Mini-LED monitors.

HDR

I have to confess that the PG32UQX was better. Since its algorithm always wanted to prioritize brightness, it was much more spectacular.

This is still good, but the PG32UQX was a night-and-day difference between SDR and HDR.

Overall, I still prefer this one since, as I said, I can't stand blooming.

Those who come from edge-lit displays or other non-high-end Mini-LED monitors will still be happy.

You can somewhat customize HDR to your preferences if you do not like the overall presentation, since these OSD settings are still available on an HDR signal: Color temperature, six-axis color saturation, Brightness, and Black Equalizer.

One thing that I noticed is that the algorithm of the monitor does not like to turn the zones fully black if there are elements with medium-to-high APL on the screen.

This was noticeable in a fully dark room when watching an HDR movie. The top and bottom black bars were not fully black at 0.00/0.02 nits unless the screen was almost completely black.

Not noticeable for most people, but I always test in the harshest environment, such as a fully dark room.

Build Quality

The only thing that concerns me about this monitor and that I did not like is the power supply. It is internal. So if it goes bad you are out of luck.

I'm also concerned that if I put my ear right up to the upper vent of the monitor, I can hear some noise. I think it is coil whine from the power supply. I can't hear it when using the monitor at my usual distance (I use the monitor close to my face), but I'm still worried about it since I'm not too sure whether it will increase or whether it is even a fan and I will hear it in a fully silent room.

Quality Control

Bad but I'm still somewhat lucky.

5 dead pixels at the bottom-right corner of the monitor. It would be much worse if those were stuck pixels and closer to the center of the monitor.

Since they are near the corner of the screen and the monitor has a high pixel density, they do not bother me.

(To European Redditors) Buying it from aliexpress

As far as I know, the monitor is only available in the United States and Japan through the official KTC Store.

In Europe, I could only find it from AliExpress. I purchased it from a seller called Ansett Store. The seller always replied to my questions, such as when I asked when it was going to ship or whether the monitor was the European version. It came from Poland.

The monitor I received was indeed a European version. It came with the EUR-1.0.1 firmware, a European Schuko (Type F) plug, and the European energy label on the box, plus the usual accessories like cables, stand, etc.

I do not know if it will be available from other sources. This is speculation, but it seems like this seller is either KTC in disguise or someone in charge of selling to the European market.

I managed to get it for €345 (~$388) thanks to AliExpress coupons, so make sure to take advantage of those.

Conclusion

I like it overall, specially at this price point, seems like my old PG279Q can finally retire (11 years old!), The only concern I have right now is the power supply.

I consider this worth it, especially if you are after the specific, somewhat niche feature set that this monitor has, such as the glossy coating combined with a MiniLED backlight.

A few months ago, I was eyeing an equivalent 4K 27-inch OLED, and the prices were almost double that of this one. Combined with the fact that my usage is 60% static and 40% gaming, this was a no-brainer at this price point. Fingers crossed it lasts me as long as my PG279Q!

So personally:

Pros:

  • Glossy coating
  • STW polarizer
  • Shadow-biased algorithm

Cons:

  • Internal power supply
  • High chance of dead pixels
  • Higher input lag when using HDR with Local Dimming

For a more technical review with measurements, please refer to either the DisplayNinja or the Chimolog review.

Feel free to ask any questions or suggest things that you want tested.

Discussion PS5 Pro - HDMI 2.1 naar DisplayPort 1.4 adapter voor 1440p 120Hz?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to buy a PS5 Pro soon, and I'm looking for a reliable HDMI to DisplayPort adapter.

**My monitor:** Samsung Odyssey G5 34" Ultrawide (LC34G55TWWPXEN)

**Specifications:**

- Resolution: 3440 × 1440

- Maximum refresh rate: 165Hz

- HDMI 2.0

- DisplayPort 1.4

**Important note about the ultrawide aspect ratio:**

I'm fully aware that the PS5/PS5 Pro does NOT support 21:9 ultrawide output.

The black bars on the left and right sides of the screen are NOT a problem for me. I expect them and I'm perfectly happy playing in 16:9 on this monitor.

I'm NOT trying to get 3440 × 1440 or stretch the PS5 image to fill the entire ultrawide screen.

**My problem:**

I can't get 120Hz from a PlayStation through my monitor's HDMI connection. To achieve 120Hz, I want to use the monitor's DisplayPort 1.4 input with an active HDMI-to-DisplayPort adapter.

My goal is very specific:

**PS5 Pro → 2560 × 1440 → 120Hz → 16:9 with black bars on both sides**

The black side bars are completely fine. The only thing I'm trying to achieve is a reliable 1440p/120Hz signal with the lowest possible input lag.

I was considering the UPTab UP-HDMI2DPG2 active HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4 adapter, but it's currently difficult to find.

**My questions:**

- Which active HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4 adapter would you recommend?

- Has anyone successfully tested one with a PS5 or PS5 Pro at 2560 × 1440 / 120Hz?

- Are there any reliable adapters that work without signal loss, random black screens, handshake problems or excessive input lag?

- Most importantly: has anyone actually tested this with the Samsung Odyssey G5 34" (LC34G55TWWPXEN)?

I'm looking for a proven solution that actually works at 1440p/120Hz, rather than an adapter that only claims to support it on paper.

Again, I know the PS5 doesn't support 21:9 and I have absolutely no problem with black bars on the sides. My question is purely about achieving **2560 × 1440 at 120Hz through the DisplayPort input**.

Any recommendations or first-hand experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Discussion OLED Monitor to Macbook Air Screen. The LCD eye fatigue within minutes

I have been using an OLED high refresh monitor that is similar in brightness to the LCD screen of the macbook. I have much more eye strain when using the LCD. this is especially true for white word documents and white pages in general. I had a LCD screen in the past and did not have this issue.

Any alternatives are welcome, however must be 4K 120 fps and good with the ps5 pro.

Also are AOC monitors cheaply made? They’re all so much cheaper than competitor prices.

And is OLED worth it? I’m fine with spending more if I can have top quality gaming for the next few years.

Discussion LG 27G610A dim in HDR unless SDR is at 100%

Recently picked up the LG UltraGear 27G610A (1440p 200Hz) paired with an NVIDIA GPU, and I ran into a really weird brightness issue when toggling HDR in Windows.

Normally in SDR, I keep my monitor brightness at 20%. When I toggle HDR on via Win + Alt + B, the monitor OSD says brightness is at 100%, but the physical screen stays very dim. It turns out the monitor physically locks the backlight to whatever brightness was set in SDR (20%).

If I open the monitor OSD while in HDR and manually nudge the slider from 100 down to 99, the backlight immediately snaps to full brightness. But as soon as I toggle back to SDR and return to HDR, it reverts to being dim again.

I also confirmed that if I raise SDR brightness to 100% first and then enable HDR, HDR turns on at full brightness right away. So the monitor seems to be failing to push the HDR backlight command during the handshake.

A few things I already checked:

  • Smart Energy Saving is disabled (and grayed out in HDR anyway).
  • Tested across Gamer 1 and Gamer 2 profiles.
  • Factory reset the monitor settings.
  • This model has no USB upstream port, so firmware updates through PC software are not an option.

Has anyone else with the 27G610A noticed this? Is this just burned-in firmware behavior on all units, or did I get a defective scaler that warrants a replacement?

Discussion Alienware AW2725DF randomly goes black and keeps turning on and off

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I've been experiencing a weird issue with my Alienware AW2725DF (1440p, 360Hz) and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or knows what might be causing it.

Occasionally, while gaming, my monitor suddenly goes black and starts turning on and off repeatedly in a continuous loop. It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. Sometimes everything works perfectly fine for hours, and then the issue suddenly appears.

I've attached a video showing exactly what happens.

I initially thought it might be related to my NVIDIA GPU or drivers, especially since NVIDIA released the GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 617.70, which supposedly addresses the following issue:

"QHD monitor running at 360 Hz may have occasional black flash during gameplay [4846825]"

Unfortunately, even after installing this hotfix driver, the problem still persists.

My setup:

  • Monitor: Alienware AW2725DF (1440p, 360Hz)
  • RTX 5070 Ti, 9800X3D, 850W PSU
  • Connected directly to my GPU via DisplayPort 2.1 cable
  • A second DisplayPort 1.4 cable is connected from the AW2725DF to my docking station, which I only use with my work laptop
  • G-SYNC and HDR are normally enabled
  • I also have a second monitor connected to my PC

What I've already tried:

  • Installed NVIDIA GeForce Hotfix Driver 617.70
  • Disabled G-SYNC
  • Disabled HDR
  • Disabled both G-SYNC and HDR simultaneously
  • Turned off my second monitor to rule out any potential multi-monitor issues

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the problem. Even with G-SYNC and HDR disabled, the issue eventually came back.

The strange thing is that the problem is completely random and difficult to reproduce. Sometimes I can game for hours without any issues, while other times the monitor starts cycling between a black screen and displaying an image.

Has anyone experienced this exact behavior with the AW2725DF or another 1440p 360Hz OLED monitor?

Discussion Possible handshake glitch?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Disclaimer: Not a damaged monitor as I said before it only does this when waking from sleep so, not breaking rule 4 as the monitor is working perfectly fine other than these last two incidents. Just not sure if this is what is happening or not.

Second time this has happened on my new monitor and it always seems to be if something graphical is running while the monitor is waking from sleep. I'm new to monitor gaming I've settled with my old led tv for a very long time but recently updated my gpu to a AMD XFX Quicksilver 9070 OC so I wanted to get a monitor that could make better use of the card. Monitor is the KTC 32 Inch Curved Gaming Monitor 2K 180Hz (OC 185Hz) 1500R. Turning the monitor off and on again seems to rectify it so that is what leads me to believe its a handshake glitch.

Not sure what else to include, again I am new to all this high definition gaming stuff please be kind.

Text Review TCL C2A Pro 4K MiniLED Monitor - Short Warning for Potential Buyers

Let me start off by saying this is an amazing monitor and I'm incredibly satisfied with my purchase. But there is an inherent flaw to this model and since TCL doesn't issue firmware updates to their monitors, we're stuck with this flaw.

I've already returned this monitor once over this flaw and thought it was a defect. I've bought it again since because there aren't any other MiniLEDs where I live. This is my second time buying this monitor, and random HDMI dropout issues were present on both units.

My conclusion is: Unless I've been unlucky enough to get the same exact flaw two times in a row, this flaw is an inherent characteristic of this monitor and TCL panels and not a defect.

If you intend to use your PS5, you won't be able to use it with all the bells and whistles, you'll have to set the Video Transfer Rate to -1.

From what I can gather, its primary intended use is for PC. DisplayPort works smoothly and without interruptions. HDMI dropout issues persist even on PC. I'm sure this can be circumvented with CRU on PC. However I would strongly recommend DisplayPort usage on PC.

TLDR: A tremendous option to avoid OLED burn-in anxieties while getting near OLED blacks. Incredible PPI and clarity. Perfect choice for DisplayPort usage. HDMI 2.1 mileage may vary.

Buy for PC usage, avoid for PS5.

Discussion Looking for advice on an affordable, decent resolution monitor.

I don’t really know much about what’s good or bad pricing, etc… so I am just looking for some advice on where to look and what to look for.

I use my desktop for games mostly, and while the current one is fine, it’s also got some pretty awful resolution quality (it‘s already set to its max resolution of 1920 x 1080) and it’s graphics card is 4 GB. I believe my current model is a HP 2711x, and it’s at least six years old by now.

Games I play:

Planet Zoo

Planet Zoo 2

Icarus

Minecraft - (Java Edition)

Hey everyone, I’ve been looking for OLEDs in Argentina for a while and the variety of panels and prices here is awful. For the lowest price I could find, this cost me around $750 USD (rounding it up), and it's one of the cheapest options available.

Now, what details, settings, or warnings should I keep in mind with this monitor? What I cared about the most was peace of mind regarding annoying scanlines, bad colors, flickering, and any other common monitor issues. I wanted to know if, given what I'm paying, I can rest easy regarding short-term issues and finally make the jump from a basic Samsung C24F390 VA monitor that I've had for about 7 years. My room is completely dark.

Anyway, is it worth it, or should I request a refund?

Why is it that these are so much more expensive than 27” and is it possible to find dual 24” for less than $200 each? - Coming from dual 25” 1080p, should i just go for 1440p?

Discussion Monitor too thin for light bar - what to do?

I recently picked up the ROG Swift PG32UCDP along with a BenQ ScreenBar Halo for my desk setup.

The issue: the top edge of this OLED panel is far too thin, and the rear housing does not provide enough purchase for the BenQ counterweight clamp to sit securely without slipping or putting uneven pressure directly against the glass.

Has anyone with this monitor (or similar ultra-thin
ASUS WOLED displays) found a reliable workaround?
