I'M REQUESTING Horror fanatics, what’s the most gut-wrenching, psychologically disturbing, and underrated horror film that shocked you to your core?

Hi! I’m looking for movie recommendations for a good horror marathon this Halloween szn. I want to discover films that genuinely mess with your head, leave you feeling emotionally wrecked, or have twists and disturbing scenes that stay with you long after the credits roll.

I’m especially interested in underrated or lesser-known horror films that deserve way more recognition than they get.

So, what’s that one horror movie that left you staring at the screen in disbelief, questioning everything, or just sitting in silence after it ended?

Drop your recommendations below! No spoilers, please. I want to go in blind.

I'M REQUESTING What is the most boring movie you have ever seen?

I've seen quite a few movies so far, and while I've come across some that weren't great but still watchable, I rarely encounter truly boring ones. I'd like to try watching a boring movie just to see what it's like, so please tell me what you feel is the most boring movie you've ever seen.

I'M REQUESTING Looking for movies with an object you can't separate from the film

• Upvotes

I'm looking for movies where a particular object becomes almost as memorable as the story itself. Think of Ghostface's mask in Scream or the tiny hidden door in Being John Malkovich.

It could be something ordinary, strange, or completely unique to that movie. The important thing is that the object has a real presence in the story, not just something sitting in the background. I'd especially like to discover less obvious examples from movies that don't get mentioned all the time.

I'M REQUESTING Fun movies to watch with unique concepts

When I was a kid I watched all these movies with wacky and unique concepts that were fun to watch, as I have gotten older I watch them less. Do you guys have any movies,(they don't need to be the best) but just enjoyable weird movies that are comforting?

I'M REQUESTING What's Federico Fellini’s best film? Any recommendations?

I'm Italian, yet, to my great shame, La Dolce Vita is the only Fellini film I have ever seen, and that was back when I was a child. It never really interested me much. I recently discovered that Ennio Flaiano wrote the screenplays for many of his films. Ennio Flaiano was arguably the greatest journalist Italy has ever had, a true giant. So, I’ve decided to give Fellini another look. Any recommendations?

I'M REQUESTING Best Halloween Movies

I'm trying to find a few movies to make a tradition of watching every year at Halloween. I don't want slashers or demonic movies. I enjoy Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow as a point of reference. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

I'M REQUESTING Folk horror(?)

I've watched two British 70's folk horror classics recently (The Wicker Man and Penda's Fen) and they have blown me away, especially Penda's Fen. I'm looking for suggestions for more movies like this.

I'M REQUESTING Need a good scifi movie but please read my description before giving random scifi suggestions

I'm looking specifically for movies that have this kind of feel.. movies like: predator, the fly, reel steel, the guyver, septic man, masters of the universe.. I know these movies aren't all related but I'm looking for this kind of scifi movie.. body horror, or action, robots maybe, or some kind of creature.. maybe a bit cheesy, b movie esque.. idk what this type of film is called really or how to categorize it but I want movies similar to this.

I really hope someone here understands what kind of movies I'm talking about. Sorry for the poor description but any suggestions with this kind of feel would be massively appreciated.

Also for some extra context (if this adds any extra context at all.. not really) but I plan on getting stoned tonight and just chilling out late night watching a movie like this, so thats the kinda cheesy, b movie, whatever vibe im going for.

Thanks.

I'M REQUESTING What movie does you or your family link to a holiday even though it’s not a holiday movie?

Die Hard to me is a holiday movie and I watch it every year. But what movie for you isn’t a holiday movie but for some reason you personally consider it your holiday movie? Avatar came out Christmas week so maybe that is someone’s Christmas movie. Catch me if you Can came out on Christmas and I saw it that day. But do you have any you link to any holiday even though it really isn’t?

I'M REQUESTING Action movies that almost feel like any normal person could do

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Nice Guys, Fall Guy, Bullet Train, Maybe even Hangover. (Doesn't necessarily need to be action, maybe crime, thriller or adventure, I didn't know how to narrow the genre)

Just an adventure where the hero isn't a cop, ex military, a complete and total badass. The set pieces and locations are normal places anyone could go to like hotels, parties or trains. I want the kind of movies, it feels like an adventure I myself could stumble into.

Bonus points if it's comedic. I know some of these aren't normie protagonists like Bullet Train, but he feels like a normal guy, not a badass John Wick type.

I just like movies where the main hero doesn't have a lot of resources, they don't travel all around the world or have a lot of gadgets and weapons (unless they earn it) like Mission Impossible or Hobbs and Shaw. Movies where they have very limited money or bullets.

I'M REQUESTING movies like 'american beauty' or with psychological themes.

Heya, I am looking for movies which do not have supernatural or other-worldly elements. It has to be uncanny through a real-world setting. Like the color grading and atmosphere of american beauty where so many things were simultaneously happening at once. Very immersive, keeps you guessing and with thriller or slice-of-life themes. 'I am thinking of ending things' or mysterious skin or jeune et jolie Thanks.

I'M REQUESTING Do you guys know of any movies similar to Precious (2009).

So I recently watched the movie Precious directed by Lee Daniels and it was honestly the best/most heartbreaking movie I’ve seen in a while. I don’t normally love dramas but this one had my attention the whole time. The character development of Precious is incredible and I love that she was her own hero. If anyone has movie recs similar to this movie let me know!

I'M REQUESTING Movie Recs for a Body Horror and David Lynch lover

Hello!! I'm looking for some movie recommendations perhaps... My favorite director OAT is David Cronenberg, and I LOVE anything up that sort of alley. Psychosexual/Erotic horror type. I also love David Lynch, and mindfuck films that makes you think.

But I will truly watch anything, since I'm moreso a horror centric cinephile I have missed out on a lot of the classics and am trying to catch up on them. So I will take any recs I can get. Any and all are appreciated.

I'M REQUESTING What are some Fantasy Mafia flims?

Pretty much The Godfather, but with magic. I'm looking for fantasy films that revolve around organized crime, particularly Mafia families, criminal empires, and underground syndicates operating in worlds where magic and supernatural abilities exist. I want the politics, power struggles, betrayals, territorial disputes, and criminal hierarchies of traditional gangster films, but with fantasy elements.

I'M REQUESTING 60s B-movies about hippies

I love 60s B-movies that exploit counterculture. The Trip (1967) was particularly good, really groovy atmosphere, great music, clothing, decorations etc. Very cheesy of course, but still really fun to watch. I'd like some more of that (Already have seen Psych Out, didn't like it).

I'M REQUESTING Movies that have low to average ratings, but you still love?

As I'm typing this, I'm currently watching a movie off to the side of me that is completely flawed yet for some reason, every time it's on, I end up watching it. "Downsizing". It loses its way halfway through, but the entire concept intrigues me because I love unique and quirky movies.

What are some movies that fly under the radar for whatever reason, don't have great reviews yet you still find enjoyable, and I'm not talking about the super obvious like Roadhouse or Police Academy?

I'm looking for some recommendations, and please keep in mind that I've seen a lot of movies over the years so your hidden gem suggestions would be appreciated. Something different and unique yet not overly cheesy to the point where it's just ridiculous, like "Hell comes to Frogtown"...lol

Just off the top of my head, here are a few:

Downsizing

Battlefield Earth

The Village

The Lobster (Doesn't have poor reviews, but most average people haven't seen it and it's quirky)

I'M REQUESTING Looking for movies with fairytale/ethereal vast worlds

Im not sure if this request is ridiculous and hyperspecific or not, im looking for movies that take place in fantastical lands throughout at least most of the runtime, and feel extremely big and immersive and lived in.

I'M REQUESTING Need to kill time today. Primetime or Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother?

These movies are playing in a perfect block where I can kill time as I wait in the big city.

Has anyone watched either or both? I like that they're both highly reviewed. I guess street fighter is another option, but I already caught mortal kombat 2 which satisfied and I don't want to eat too many hot dogs at once you know?

I'M REQUESTING mystery / thriller / suspense etc. movies that DON’T have ambiguous endings

i feel like every mystery & psychological thriller i’ve watched lately has an open ending / things left up to interpretation.

i get that sometimes that’s the whole point and i feel like i have good media literacy but sometimes i really just want things explained to me like i’m 5.

pls suggest some good movies that have suspense / mystery / plot twists / will keep me guessing and on the edge of my seat BUT wrap up neatly at the end

not every single question needs to be answered but some sort of proper resolution pleaseeee

it’s fine if they’re more on the horror side. it’s fine if they’re a bit stupid. any language. i’ll basically watch anything!!

I'M REQUESTING Movies like Intouchables, Green book, Bronx tale, Catch me if you can, Shawshank and etc.

Hey guys want to watch movies that are basically guaranteed hit, like you just know movie is going to be good from the first minute. Basically movies that are very good and liked by almost everyone. Just pure cinema vibes. But there are also some that fall into category of trying to be one of these movies but failing like “hidden figures” or “shape of water” and also not too dialogue heavy where nothing is happening except talking the whole movie. Appreciate it.
