Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Need suggestion for my pc build

So basically I am going to build a pc in this era of ram-apocalypse, I know this isnt the greatest time but I need it and i am searching for components all around reddit and Facebook marketplace. I am just a 15 y/o and i have done a plenty of research but still I want to see what do you guys think for my pc specs config.

My budget is ₹1.65L($1.7k) I want a pc(including peripherals) with specs:

Cpu- ryzen 7 7800x3d

Gpu- rtx 4070/5070 (used can work)

Psu- 850W

Mobo- B650M

Ram- ddr5 32gb(2×16gb) 6000MHz Cl32/Cl34 (used can work)

Storage- 1tb NVMe gen 3/4

Cooler- 360mm aio

Case- lian li o11 vision(its only a choice, I can accept other too)

Monitor- 27 inch, 280hz, 2k resolution

Mouse- i prefer a solid Logitech one but it depends

Keyboard- want a aula f75 but still can differ.

If possible in white.

I am gonna accept Used only if they show that it works(testing), model number sticker, stability test, gst invoice, replacement terms and confirmation of Warrenty applicable in india.

My use for pc is not all focused on gaming, i would do some light gaming usually on Sundays but i want it for blender, animations, ui ux designing, Figma and a little bit of game development. Although I am a young Artist and i am seeking to freelance so that I can earn and pay my future college semester fee myself and build a agency if possible. Going to give UCEED(undergraduate common entrance examination for design) in future and go to IIT.

Hope i am not being that much delusional lol.

I need recommendations to change my cpu. Iva had my pc for 4 years and the gpu is fine, but it’s bottlenecked by this old cpu. It’s a prebuilt, but I’d like to change the cpu and the motherboard with it of course. I don’t know if it’s an easy change. I use this pc for gaming a lot and also work. Any help on parts to buy or other suggestions? I live in Canada.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Looking to buy a PC, thoughts on spec.

I’m looking at getting a PC to upgrade from my current one. (Can’t upgrade the parts due to it being a pre-build)

I’ve found three potential options. Each with the same or similar spec.

9800X3D CPU
2TB SSD
32GB RAM
The difference is choosing one of these:
5080 GPU (makes the cost significantly higher)
9070 XT (slightly over budget but manageable)
5070 GPU (exactly on budget)

The only thing I don’t like about any of these options is the case but not in the sense I dislike them, I just don’t like them. I am considering buying a case I do like and moving the parts over myself, or asking somewhere to do it for me. Is it easy to do?

I have an 11th Gen i5, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, and an 8GB 3060 in my PC atm.

Which would be the best option for 1080p gaming targeting the best visuals?

Troubleshooting Advice - Other Help on new laptop motherboard

Hi,

I hope this is the correct thread and flair. I have looked online but am unfamiliar with what is on my new motherboard. I've replaced this motherboard once already and the old one didn't have this foam or mesh tape.

What is the foam and mesh tape? If it's heat isolation, is it better or worse than any thermal paste I can buy?

Any help and advice is appreciated

Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Upgrading from a 8700k + 2070 for 1440p

I recently got a good deal on a 1440p oled and my pc is struggling to run the games I like the play, additionally I’m an engineer and often have to use CFD software for my projects, I would put the split at 70/30 gaming to work.

My budget is flexible at around $1200 Canadian

Current specs:
-i7-8700K
-RTX 2070
-32GB DDR4

Upgrade options (CAD):
-3080 Ti (used): $650
-4070 Ti 12GB (used): $750
-i5-14600KF: $300
Compatible motherboard: ~$100

I’d hope to run games like god of war, black myth wukong, helldivers and f1 above 60fps at 1440p high.

I’m also considering whether I should prioritize upgrading my gpu and holding off on the cpu, since I’m currently gpu limited in most games.

I considered am5 but I can’t justify spending that much more on ddr5.

Troubleshooting Advice - Other Load line calibration

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m currently experimenting with overclocking my 12600KF. My motherboard is a MSI Z690 Pro.
I have tried playing around with some bios settings to keep a stable 5.3-5.6 GHz P-core and 4.5 GHz E-core overclock. Everytime I tried to get it to be stable using Load-Line Calibration, I kept messing it up.
Does anyone recommend a solution or a good Mode for this?

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Regarding Ram

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing okay, and well.

I just wanted to ask question regarding my pc towards an upgrade

So my specs are Ryzen 7 5700x Msi b550m pro p wifi6e Ram corsair vengence 8gb 3200mhz, OCPC 8gb 3200mhz, They both operate fine on 3200mhz with xmp, I was thinking to add 2 more corsair sticks and make it 32gb ram but I was wondering if 4 slots of ram stick will be fine and if so if its possible

Hi, I am sorta new to PC builds since I have had the same basic computer for over 4 years and it can only run a handful of games at high graphics. I have found these 2 builds on Newegg (I will link). Please let me know what you think and if its worth it for the price!

If not, please give recommendations for builds similar to this price if possible! Thank you!

Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Installing 16x Ram with 2 8x Ram causes boot loop.

I have a 16x HyperX fury ram card from an old desktop. went to install it in my Alienware Aurora R11 next to the 2 HyperX Fury 8x cards.

The 8x sit in holders with white clips and 2 holders with black clips are empty. After installing the 16x in an empty holder I turned on the Desktop. It starts up, after a couple seconds blinks yellow 5 times, shutdown to restart boot after 5 seconds, repeats. upon removal of 16x card pc boots as normal.

what is the issue? bad install and wasn't reading correctly? not compatible ram card? Power issue?

thanks for fast support.

Edit: Turns out you cant just mash Ram sticks together hoping it equals 32gb. Case closed I guess.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts I need help to build a PC

Hello, I am an international student looking to build a pc in russia,so the currency is rubble (100USDT = ~9700rub)
I live in Saint-Petersburg

The case I am willing to use is the Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L

I want to be able to at 1080p/1440p ( i don’t really play new AAA games )

So the PC I want to build will be built around a 2060 super as that’s the best price to perf card I found (~13000rub used)
For the CPU i was looking for a I5 14400F as it’s kind of futur proof (~12500rub used)

Now for the case, power and ram, i found a guy on the russian FB marketplace selling these three :

Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L
Corsair CV550
Kingston Fury DDR4 3600Mhz 16Gb (2x8Gb)
Total : 13000rub

Now as you can see i miss a motherboard, chatGPT told me that my best option if I want to exploit my full RAM capacity and fit a +12th gen CPU was the MSI B760M DDR4, but while searching i found cheaper versions like the MSI B760M-E or P. Now from what I understood its the same but with less ports, normally I would go for the cheaper one (B760M-E) but i am worried about if it’ll be a good futurproof option ( in case i want to change a part )

Now my questions are :
Do you recommend this build budget wise ?
Is the RTX 2060 super a good match to the I5 14400F ?
Did I Forget anything ?
What would you change ?
What B760M version should I buy ?

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts DDR4 platform or DDR5 platform for a budget gaming pc build? (In the U.S)

Currently, I'm using a much older, low-tier pc, but I can use the case, GPU (GTX 1080 TI) and power supply for my future build. So I only really need a CPU, Motherboard, and RAM for an upgrade (Since I'm still using DDR3 so I have to switch platforms)

I'm a beginner trying to find good parts for a pc build and I would like to know what you guys think about this:

DDR5 for a higher performance ceiling and a longer upgrade path?

OR

DDR4 for better price efficiency and cheaper upgrades?

Also: Any budget part recommendations?

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts How did I do? Bought an open box computer, added a card.

My Legion 5 Pro 3070 finally died after 5 years and many hardware issues. I decided to avoid laptops and go with a desktop. I purchased PowerSpec B737 open box at Microcenter that had been upgraded from the standard AMD Ryzen 7 7700X to a Ryzen 7 9700x. Cost for this system was $850. Since it came with no video card, I added an ASRock Challenger 9060xt 16gb card for another $500.

Specs:

Ryzen 7 9700x

AMD Gigabyte B650M C V3 Motherboard

32GB DDR5-6000 RAM

AMD Radeon Graphics

1TB NVMe SSD

Gigabit LAN, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 4.2

Windows 11 Pro

$850

Added:

ASRock Challenger 9060xt 16gb

$500

Total: $1350

Is this a decent system for the price? The only thing I'm feeling slightly negative about right now is that it's a miniATX tower, so it can only fit dual-fan cards.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Lian Li O11 Vision Compact vs. O11 Dynamic EVO RGB – Which Is Quieter?

I’m planning to build a new PC, but I can’t decide between the Lian Li O11 Vision Compact and the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO RGB. I absolutely love the aesthetics of both cases, but noise levels are just as important to me.

The O11 Vision Compact would run either 8 fans with the glass side panel or 11 fans with the mesh side panel, using 120mm Lian Li UNI FAN TL fans.

The O11 Dynamic EVO RGB would run 10 140mm fans.

Which build would be quieter or would there be barely any noticeable difference in noise levels between the two?

  • Budget & Currency: 150€ case, 30€ each fan
  • Country: Germany
  • Use-case: Surfing, gaming, productivity
  • Intended monitor resolution: 4k

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Is this ₹90.5K PC build worth it for gaming and video editing?

Build:

- i5-14400F – ₹14K

- Gigabyte B760 DDR4 – ₹7K

- 16GB DDR4 3200MHz – ₹8K

- Crucial 480GB SSD – ₹8K

- RTX 3050 6GB – ₹26K

- Cabinet + 600W PSU – ₹6.35K

- LG 24” monitor + keyboard/mouse

Total: ₹90,506 including GST (Indian Rupees)

My budget is strictly ₹90K, and I can't go higher. The RTX 3050 6GB is available for ₹26K locally, while other shops are quoting around ₹30K.

Is this build worth buying, or should I change some components? My main uses are gaming, video editing, YouTube and freelancing.

Please suggest the best improvements within my budget.

1 cable PSUX8 --> pcie 6+2
1 cable 12 pines(600w dice) -->pcie 2 x 8

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts I been looking at pre-built gaming PC's - but realistically - how hard is it to build my own?

I have a gaming laptop - Lenovo Legion 5i 15.1 inch OLED WQXGA Laptop, Core i9 14900HX, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB

For whatever reason and for the life of me - I can not figure out how to use it for streaming - to YouTube or Twitch or anything. The game wants to play in a tiny window and I can't control the streaming settings on the laptop screen. I can't get it to play the game full screen on an external monitor and also control the OBS Studio (or any streaming software) on the laptop screen. The mouse pointer absolutely will not move from screen to screen. Anyway - it's fine for playing without streaming.

Moving on - I'd like a desktop I can hook up 2 (or 3) monitors to. I think this will be a better streaming option. I been looking at Best Buy and Micro Center - roughly spending bout $2500 on a desktop, and another $1000-$1500 on 2 monitors.

I'm thinking.....I can build a pretty badass gaming desktop for $2500, a lot better than I can buy one pre-built and I've always wanted to build my own anyway.

So realistically - for someone that's never built a PC before but does have a general understanding of what I need - case, power supply, graphics card, processor, OS, RAM, GPU, audio/video, etc.

How easy would it be? OR should I not risk spending a couple thousand on a first time PC build? Thanks for your time!

*edit, forgot to mention games I like to play - Farming Simulator, RDR2, GTA5 & 6 (although these I'll play on PS5), American Truck Simulator. Not really heavy resource usage games.
