well, here's the thing. I've been pretty aware of the state of things since 9/11 and up until age 35 (am 39 now) It was ALWAYS my running assumption that people just kept maturing as they got older...

Here I am all of about to be 40 just now fully coming to terms with the fact that some people never make it mentally past grade school and THAT is what is depressing for me.

I have come to the same conclusion. I’m 45 and I have continued to learn and grow as I get older. It seems that the majority of our peers have not.

That is the only reason I can find for how a large amount of people still continue to scream their praise and admiration for the Republican candidates.

37, I feel the same. Literally went over this same subject this evening with a group. People spanning from late 20s to late 50s with one woman there that is pressing 80. The fact that so much of what is happening is so full of cruelty just for money and power has had me in some of the most existential depression I've experienced. I can't wrap my head around going to school and being taught history and being told explicitly we need to learn this so we can move forward and not repeat the mistakes of the past. But here we are.
