Considering there are millions of illegal immigrants in the USA and that's what people are complaining about. It is the same thing? What are you talking about?
I love when poor people bring up boot licking because that's how you know they lost the argument. Here let me make you feel better. It's everyone else's fault you're poor, it's the boomers, it's your parents, it's the governments, it's the corporations.
It has nothing to do with your low intelligence, laziness, lack of discipline, lack of drive, or any personal decision you make. All the people that make 100k are lying, lucky, or bootlickers!
Hope that makes you feel better, enjoy your mom's basement!
Iâm not poor lol. I made a $173k as a Union Electrician last year. Then $55k into my pension and $22k into my 401k. I also get a $33k VA pension for life from being wounded in Afghanistan. Then I have one rental property.
However if you compare what my dad to me basically same job a Union Millwright and Veteran. He made less yet he had more buying power than me.
I donât lose an argument. Iâm just telling you that youâre a bootlicker.
Ok letâs add up a salary of $70k for a family of four in an average city in America.
Whatâs $70k per year after taxes? $54k
Groceries - $12k - $20k/a year. Letâs say $15k ($39k)
Gas - $3k times 2(Husband and Wife) ($33k)
Rent - $22k ($17k)
Electric - $2k ($15k)
Car - $12k ($3k)
Car insurance - $2k ($1k)
Phone $2k (-$1k)
You know I didnât even get to the kids yet right? So tell me how do you make it off $70k($54k). Please elaborate bootlicker.
He didn't have more buying power he just didn't buy as much. How many TVs did your dad have? How often did he buy a new car? How many flights did he go on? When something broke who fixed it? How much smaller was his house? How many cell phones did he have? How many times did he go out to eat? How often does your wife repair clothes, instead of paying someone to deliver? How often do you throw spoiled groceries out instead of freezing it? How many streaming services did he have? How many vacations did he have? How elaborate was his car? Did it have back up cameras, 12 airbags, loud sound systems, large touch screens?
If you lived hyper Minimalist like they did then you'd have a mucher higher quality of life.
It's much easier to live frugally than it is to earn more money. This is why people come to America barely speaking English and do great here. This is why people risk their lives to come here. They're not delusioned that they can buy a new cell phone, car, and TV every year and still think they deserve more.
I didnât say I grew up poor. My Dad was a Union Millwright and my mom was a Registered Nurse.
However I worked for everything I had. My dad grew up in conditions that would make people cry if they heard the stories. He instilled in me to work hard and not to judge others because you never know someoneâs situation. Then my mom worked as an RN in the ER in one of the roughest areas of Detroit. She told me and my sister stories. You canât judge someone unless you walk in their shoes.
So what did I have handed to me? I've given my mom thousands of dollars since I've turned 18. I've had negative handed to me. Once again America is very cheap compared to most of the world. Once again this is why people risk their lives to come here. Once you realize that your mindset gets much better. Be sure to let your kids know often đđ»!
I donât have kids yet. America is better than their countries, yes. However thereâs a reason why we rank lowest in a lot of categories amongst first world countries.
Hereâs a quote from a German traveler. He said man America is the nicest 3rd world country you will ever see.
I fought for this country, 2 combat deployments Iraq 2009 and Afghanistan 2011. I love this country as well. However we have a lot to work on and not everything is as it seems.
The American dream isnât available to everyone anymore. When my dad was growing up people could work at a grocery store. From that salary they could buy a house, vacation, raise a family, save, and have a decent life.
It was available to everyone, the American dream.
Now itâs if you donât make $100k and your wife doesnât work as well. You probably arenât going to buy a home, save, vacation, have a family.
Also yeah are some people cry babies who are lazy? Yeah. I know a bunch of them. Complaining about why canât they have a truck like mine but donât do anything to get it.
However thereâs a lot of people with a lot who arenât and they just struggle.
Once again the quality of life of those people were vastly worse in basically every aspect. A person working in a grocery store now has far more than someone back then.
Not to mention you haven't mention how you'd fix it. What magical switch do you want to flip?
Also I couldn't care what Germany says, Europe is dying. They're living off the past and that won't last much longer. It's because they're implementing the policies you probably advocate for.
Less than .5% of people don't dictate if it's cheap or expensive. Our truck drivers make more than doctors in every country in the world besides 10ish. You can make 70k here pretty easy even if you're uneducated..
70k is barely getting by in most cities my friend. Youâve obviously never seen people struggling to get by. Tell me how you can support a wife and 2 kids off $70k.
My bad I didn't know your city was the entire country of America? Oops haha my mistake.
Everyone in my family is making around that. Even less actually.
My brother has 2 kids a house, two cars, a motorcycle, goes to Florida or vegas every few years. So clearly it's possible.
You don't understand how privileged you are, most of the world lives with their parents until they get married. Car ownership rates are extremely low. A gaming PC is a luxury, leaving the country is extremely rare. If America lived like most of the world most of the world would have tens of thousands of dollars saved. If you can't survive on 70k a year in 90% of America and you don't have medical issues, it's a you problem.
Okay the average American is stupid? There's endless plumbing, manufacturing, truck driving jobs available. I have friends in every single trade there is and they all make 80k+, with the data centers paying absurd amounts they're making 100k easily no college. Maybe put in a little effort if you're working a dead end job.
Iâm a Union Electrician and Combat veteran. You know how long my apprenticeship was? It was 5 years/9000 hours on the job and 900 classroom hours. You think everyone can get into a trade? Itâs hard, itâs a commitment, itâs time consuming, you have to have reliable transportation, you have to work and then go to school.
Iâm IBEW local 58 Journeyman Electrician. I make $60/hour and $120+/hour total package. Itâs not as easy as go get a job working construction clown. I spent almost a decade Mastering my trade. Itâs why I make more than my girlfriend whoâs a Nurse Practitioner.
Go ask your buddies how easy it is to become a Journeyman or Master in a trade.
Most manufacturing jobs pay $15/hour unless youâre lucky enough to get into a Union shop. Even still unless you get a job at Boeing, The Big 3, or maybe a larger company you wonât make enough to do well. Tier 1 suppliers pay like $20-$25/hour, healthcare, and a 401k.
Literally everyone in my family works in manufacturing đ€Ł. Yeah starting off you might make 15$ an hour. After several years in solar manufacturing my cousin is at 30-35 an hour not counting over time. My brother has been in bottle manufacturing and he's had 70k a year not counting overtime. My other brother is a handy man at the city and makes 60k a year with great benefits.
None of them are even skilled, the only skilled worker in my family is my sister that does hair. She has 3 kids and her husband works at Bass pro shop. Both have nice car, new phones, a 3 bedroom house, and just went to Tennessee in the summer for vacation.
Trust me dude you don't win this argument you and the losers who don't think critically about how privileged we are all comment the same thing. BOOT LICKER, NepOBaBy. You all repeat the same stupid arguments.
Go look up the average manufacturing salary. I said some places you might get it. Dana, Flex-n-gate, Magna, American axle all pay $20-$25/hour. Those are large tier 1 oem manufacturers. They beg us to get them in the apprenticeship.
Oh youâre one of those pick yourself up by the boot straps. What if a single mother has 3 kids, no car, and no family to rely on. Her kids have to be watched right? That can be $8k - $44k. Letâs say $8k and times that by 3. We are at $24k/a year. Now she has to take a bus to a factory making $15/hour. What about food, clothes, water, rent, electricity, and so on?
Cool this is why I said 90% of people. My mom was exactly this by the way worked at Wendy's until she got a job on the railroad and raised 5 kids we lived extremely frugally. Crazy what 55 hours on the railroad can do for you along with home cooked meals, hand me down clothes, and just understanding that we still have it better than 90% of the world. Crazy how I knew that at 13 when I'm eating left overs for the 2nd day in a row.
So what if your mom doesnât get lucky and get a job on the railroad? You telling her to pick herself up by the boot straps?
Brother itâs a lot more than 10% of people living like that.
Are there lazy people? Of course.
Is there people who scam the system? Of course.
Are people bad with money? 100% Yes.
However most people want to provide for their families. In todayâs America itâs not as easy as you think. 50% of people are living paycheck to paycheck.
So what is your solution, we just flip a switch have the government mandate everything be cheaper? You can acknowledge things are perfect and still acknowledge were more privileged than 90% of the world.. I've been to 65 countries this is very obvious
