I mean, the American people do outnumber those who are corrupt. Just saying.

4

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 6h ago

Do we outnumber the conservatives who support their cult to the bitter end and own guns though?

3

u/butchie666 3h ago

What do you think us liberals don’t own guns ?

2

u/Erroneous_Bonk 2h ago

No point at all owning guns if you're going to ignore the letter of the 2nd amendment: "A well-regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state".

Liberals like you who pretend they're willing to use their means to resist didn't unite in a counter-corruption movement when the J6 insurrection trial run was carried out with impunity. You didn't do shit when the Epstein cover up was completed by googly-eyed Patel's collaborator agency. When ICE started executing people. When US taxpayers voted to fund Netanyahu's zionist forever war. When botched public executions were included in the bread & circuses distractions, after the white house has been turned into a theocratic faith office and fucking wrestling ring. Nobody did anything when the COVID pandemic was left to run rampant by an illiterate troglodyte who squints into an eclipse and injects bleach as antiviral therapy. You're definitely not going to do anything when the midterm results kickstart another attempted coup.

The founders intended the constitution to prevent taxation without fair representation from ever happening again. Y'all just shrug it off now that MAGA has been using the constitution as a diaper for a decade. Be more like Luigi Mangione and less like Pete "manlet of war" Hegseth.

u/Helporsomethinglike 6h ago

By a wide margin. And the ones you see all over the internet crumpling easily when physically confronted. All bark and no bite

2

u/FormCharacter7917 6h ago

Yes

0

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 5h ago

Then why do conservatives control the executive, judicial and legislative branches of the federal government? Why would we let the far right wing 100% represent us if we outnumber them? Something doesn't add up.

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 4h ago

It's likely because the cons cheated nearly each and every time, while accusing everyone else of doing so

0

u/Helporsomethinglike 4h ago

And laziness. Something like 2/3rds of Americans didn't vote. Don't let them off the hook

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 4h ago

Laziness... as well as anger, hopelessness, misinformation, disinformation, and all-round bad education. Just blaming laziness ignores a much larger underlying problem that has been a longstanding factor in this country that has reached critical mass relatively recent

2

u/Helporsomethinglike 4h ago

I see your point, and respect it. My own was lacking as you pointed out.

1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 4h ago

It's typically 50-60% of the eligible voting population that votes in U.S. elections. To hold not voting against the millions of people under 18 in that 2/3 guesstimate is sort of disingenuous. We have a turnout problem, no need to add another 1/3 (who aren't eligible to vote).

Also, if Jill Stein voters in 2016 and 2024 had voted for Democrats, we wouldn't be in this position. They were only voting for themselves to brag about being above the two party system at cocktail parties while the country burns. I don't hate these people, but I strongly dislike the ones who've refused to learn from their mistake (as I did with throwing a vote away on Nader in 2004 out of my own hubris).

1

u/Slumunistmanifisto 5h ago

Yeah, we do.

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 5h ago

From what I've noticed, the problem lays in the fact that over years the powers that be have stripped away much of the agency we had over our own lives, under the guise of convenience, efficiency, connectivity, and progress, to divide and conquer for increased wealth and power.

Us common folk need that agency again if there's any hope to fight back and take down the cult and their masters. To do that however, the people need to feel that something worth fighting for exists; something tangible at the community level that personal investment of one's time and resources can be seen and experienced beneficially; something that people can fall back on; something that can provide relative protection against the whims of bosses and landlords demanding fealty; something people know they can rely on, instead of the impersonal promises of for-profit entities and their lapdog governments.

Collecting a bunch of valuable information on organizing and action from different redditors over time, I created a post of suggestions HERE that could possibly prove to be of some help in getting it started ASAP.

1

u/Biggearshifter 5h ago

It will be us versus them after people finally wake up and see that the government will not make things any better. If we are united and not divided, the government knows we won’t need them anymore.

1

u/ThePatrickSays 5h ago

as the people have not "woken up" already after all of the atrocity committed in the name of trump thus far, it seems more likely they simply never will.

0

u/EveryonesANurse 2h ago

You're corrupt but just for smaller dollars

1

u/Helporsomethinglike 2h ago

Why are you attacking me?

1

u/EveryonesANurse 1h ago

Because i wanted to

Why did you attack all them

1

u/Helporsomethinglike 49m ago

Why am I attacking the corrupt?

1

u/EveryonesANurse 43m ago

No

Why you single out the wealthy as corrupt and exclude everyone else who is seemingly innocent of corruption

1

u/Helporsomethinglike 37m ago

Interesting. I never singled out anyone. I just said corrupt.

1

u/EveryonesANurse 14m ago

Yes but the implication is that the wealthy are

And you referred to American People as a whole entity

7

u/retiredfromfire 7h ago

Muirikkka is corrupt to its right wing core.

8

u/FastActinTenactin 6h ago

We need to repeal citizens united. We need to bring back the fairness doctrine.

5

u/Mysterious-Prompt212 6h ago

We need actual journalism

2

u/FastActinTenactin 6h ago

100%. Fairness doctrine returning would go a long way towards that.

1

u/Biggearshifter 5h ago

I wish it was that easy. Unfortunately you have to go down as many rabbit holes to make the most sense of what’s best for you.

1

u/c4r0n1x 3h ago

The fairness doctrine only applied to public broadcasts, so we would need something different for the modern age of media

1

u/Biggearshifter 6h ago

Individual journalism is unfortunately dead. It’s prescriptive let the other person pick the questions. Just like msm news. They have to do and say what they are told.

1

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 5h ago

To get anything meaningful, we should be helping each other wean ourselves off these profit-focused, corpo-owned governments and companies, (including places like Reddit,) and instead collaborating with one another in finding ways to create and utilize independent networks and tech to keep common folk well informed, connected, and secured, even if means downgrading a little.

Collecting a bunch of valuable information on organizing and action from different redditors over time, I created a post of suggestions HERE that's largely about fostering a foundation for community self-sustainability and resistance, but it also provides ideas for possible alternative tech and communication methods, which could be of some help in getting started ASAP.

u/bigbird_eats_kids 2h ago

Maybe stop electing politicians who are for sale? Just a thought

4

u/Zealousideal-Tea8330 6h ago

Trump made it very clear in his first term-Quid Pro Quo is the status quo.

5

u/kevendo 5h ago

The Executive branch cannot pool money from donors into a slush fund to build government buildings.

That's not now the US government works. At all.

This isn't, "Unitary Executive theory" or "sidestepping Congress". It's straight-up corruption and bribery coupled with extra-Constitutional abuses of power.

3

u/DistinctBadger6389 6h ago

Here's another one that needs his assets and company seized.

1

u/TheSaxGandalf 6h ago

South Park did it right by him being one of the first in jail.

I really hope they go back to throwing everyone in the administration in jail.

2

u/OneBrokenClock 6h ago

No such country exists in the world.

2

u/harvestmoon63 6h ago

END CITIZENS UNITED, PROBLEM SOLVED

2

u/SpockShotFirst 6h ago

The 5-4 Supreme Court decision in First Nat'l Bank of Boston v. Bellotti in 1978 was actually the problem and led directly to Citizens United.

White said in his dissent:

It has long been recognized, however, that the special status of corporations has placed them in a position to control vast amounts of economic power which may, if not regulated, dominate not only the economy, but also the very heart of our democracy, the electoral process.

2

u/Metacub3 6h ago

Palantir is a dangerous anti democratic corporation that is run by fascists. Palantir must be defunded from any tax paying contracts. Resist the surveillance state.

2

u/theanswerisinthedata 5h ago

Make a new law that says if any company or affiliated directors or executives make any political donations the company is not eligible for any government grants, contracts, bailouts, subsidies, etc.

2

u/znobrizzo 4h ago

We call this corruption where I'm from. You won't get any jail time for it, cause organized crime rules over here, but at least we acknowledge it.

2

u/soneteo 3h ago

How it is not a corruption scheme??

1

u/RealZeusWolf 3h ago

It is one

2

u/Technical_Impact5226 3h ago

I read this as “bathroom” and that didn’t surprise me, either

2

u/2hdgoblin 2h ago

Do not pass Go, and go straight to jail.

1

u/Far_Culture_5431 6h ago

Separation of church and state and corporations

1

u/BumperW67 6h ago

Me too, but SCOTUS has to be reformed first to get rid of this corrupt behavior.

1

u/sabianblue26 6h ago

Gee, all this bullshit they spew about everything getting better with AI, when in reality they are just greedy.

1

u/What_A_Weak 6h ago

Its always the ones you expect most

1

u/Mysterious-Prompt212 6h ago

Is this the privately funded ballroom that's currently a pile of rubble?

1

u/Biggearshifter 6h ago

I bet palantir and open AI haven’t turned a profit from their AI systems.

1

u/Badger7689 6h ago

I think we should consider it a kickback and cancel all their contracts

1

u/Fashiongrey 6h ago

lol I don’t trust anyone that looks like this

1

u/MintyFresh771 5h ago

Karp is a disgustingly weird human who shouldn’t be trusted with a taco stand for fear of poisoning his customers, the fact he has this massive surveillance company at his beck and call is terrifying

1

u/DR_SWAMP_THING 5h ago

Repealing Citizens United is the first step.

1

u/Chemical_Cheetah4588 5h ago

Make it stop

1

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 4h ago

We common folk who care have only each other to make that possible, and to even get the chance to do anything meaningful, we need real supportive community-based bedrock for alternatives that provide relative safety, which many can fall back on to commit to any effective action longterm.

Collecting a bunch of valuable information on organizing and action from different redditors over time, I created a post of suggestions HERE that could possibly prove to be of some help in getting it started ASAP.

1

u/Jondoe34671 5h ago

Can we not have a real photo of what the ball room looks like . Not some imagined idea

1

u/EbbAlternative7318 4h ago

Little known fact. That’s a black man. Smh

1

u/G0D5M0N3Y 4h ago

And in return the US gov has to buy parts of the AI company, thus paying out all the early billionaire investors in these companies. You scratch my back I scratch yours. đŸ€Ą world

1

u/Dry-Olive4621 4h ago

Then dont vote for politicians who are purchased by them. No more Republicans or Democrats.

1

u/KindlyAdvantage7726 4h ago

Alex Karp is an assett and a paid tool.

1

u/JKlerk 4h ago

Private donations allow Presidents to spend money on some things without congressional approval.

This is a nothingburger

1

u/Spicy6Chord 4h ago

That will never happen. Never.

1

u/Cheap-Kiwi-1312 4h ago

Make politicians wear their sponsors on a jacket like they are a professional race car driver. Show us who pays for you.

1

u/Ayotha 4h ago

You guys had a solution, once

1

u/pusillanimoustaco 4h ago

mere coincidence my good man mere coincidence.

1

u/Opposite_Guest_6756 4h ago

More swamp draining

1

u/kaybloc 3h ago

Exposed? Wasn’t this all out in the open from day 1?

1

u/kwalitykontrol1 3h ago

Go look at Alex Karp's teeth. It's horrific.

1

u/REDDITCEOSUXDICK 2h ago

THEY DONATED TECH TO THE BUNKER THAT IS UNDERNEITH THE BALLROOM.

1

u/SurvivorEasterIsland 2h ago

I wanna live in a WORLD where hairdos like that don’t exist.

1

u/Lumpy-Scratch-8363 1h ago

Blatant corruption.

1

u/JustaSeedGuy 1h ago

I want to live in a country where bribery receives capital punishment, from both bribe and bribee

1

u/Zementhead 1h ago

Better move to another country, USA has always been for sale.

1

u/stprnn 1h ago

Simple. Don't let a corporation accumulate so much money they can buy politicians.

1

u/chickenpattputz 1h ago

It’s bad on both sides

1

u/Kaliking247 25m ago

Yes he probably has a few more chromosomes than he probably should, but does anyone remember the cheeto debating Hilary? You know the one where she tried to call out the fact that he didn't pay taxes and he said yeah he didn't because in her 8 years working with Biden there was not a single attempt to fix the tax code? You show me an honest politician and I'll show you a seasoned conman. If you think you're on the right side of the aisle please remember they all live in the same glass tower looking down at us trying to get it out the mud.

1

u/glytxh 5h ago

This is all that America has ever been. This isn’t a MAGA thing.

America is a machine for the wealthy. Any pretence at democracy or representation has always been theatre.

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 5h ago

For this reason among many others, we must focus on forming real supportive community-based bedrock for alternatives that provide relative safety, which many common folk in the US can fall back on, to commit to any long-term meaningful action needed. From there, we can work to fight and abandon the status quo for something that truly prioritizes people's wellbeing.

Collecting a bunch of valuable information on organizing and action from different redditors over time, I created a post of suggestions HERE that could possibly prove to be of some help in getting it started ASAP.

2

u/New-Leader-7891 3h ago

Name which corporation bought Kamala Harris

1

u/Thom5001 2h ago

That’s all the world has ever been.

1

u/PloppyPants9000 2h ago

The french had something to say about that during the french revolution...

-1

u/South-Echidna-7622 3h ago

Still everyone from all over the globe wants to move here. Why? Because there is enough wealth to go around for anyone who is not a lazy pos

3

u/glytxh 3h ago

The laziest people are the ones at the top, and the hardest working people are being shot in the streets

America is a failed state, that can’t even provide for its own tax payers.

It’s a propaganda machine pretending to be a democracy

-1

u/South-Echidna-7622 2h ago

A failed state? Get a passport and travel the globe.

2

u/glytxh 2h ago

There’s a pedophile insurrectionist in the white house. For the second time. People are being murdered on the streets. Millions are choosing to not get healthcare because they literally cannot afford it. School shootings are so habitual they are just background noise. Decades of interference in other countries democracies. Hundreds of thousands of dead civilians as a product of American bombs.

Some very wealthy shareholders though.

But it’s all OK because there are other countries that are also shitholes.

Doesn’t seem like a functional democracy to me

-1

u/South-Echidna-7622 2h ago

Get off the Reddit echo chamber and take a walk outside and smell the roses. And get a therapist. Depressed and angry is no way to go through life. Good luck!

2

u/glytxh 2h ago

Literally nothing I just said is wrong or hyperbole. I’m glad you’re able to insulate yourself from the fascist renaissance.

Gotta assume those boots taste real good

2

u/Dependent_Singer_494 3h ago

3 people, THREE, have more wealth than 155million Americans combined. That wealth is really going around.

1

u/EveryonesANurse 2h ago

That's because the entire world wants and needs what they specifically make and sell

Who else is supposed to get that money?
