And we'll tell you to save your breath, act like a good one, and stop wasting everyone's time. If you aren't one of those men, you would see that that urgency to stop an issue of this scale is more important than you denying responsibility. Like, hundreds of thousands of women are raped and assaulted annually, and you're more worried about you.

Does making incorrect generalizations on all men help reduce the amount of women raped?

No one is saying "all men." Women are like "hey men are assaulting us way too much" and then some jabronies are like "not all men!"

That's not the point. The point is that it's far too many men. And raising awareness of that WILL help men do it less if they are aware of their actions, aware of the consequences, and if men give men social consequences for doing it.

Yeah, they are. They have the whole phrase "it's all men until no men" and also "not all men, but always a man" when someone calls the former out. That's saying it's all men. Why would I support people who automatically lump me in with rapists when I have never, and will never rape someone. Especially as someone who was raped by a woman. The response to "not all men" is often "not all men but always a man." Where does that leave me? She wasn't a man. She took advantage of me while I was drunk and very emotionally vulnerable.

You're mad about these slogans being used by a select group that are lumping you into a group based on your sex and then you're turning around and doing the same thing.

Because a small group of people are using a slogan (I have not seen them being used but I will believe you), you're withdrawing your support from the greater group of women who are just trying to curb the overwhelming number of sexual assaults committed by men.

I am not saying that it doesn't happen to men. My husband was stalked and assaulted also. All sexual assaults are important and should be stopped. And it definitely means something culturally that the vast majority of them are committed by men

"It's all feminists saying 'all men' until it's no feminists saying 'all men.'"

If you want to become what you hate, go for it.

I'll pass.

Also, is it really "feminist" to just want fewer rapes to happen? I assumed it was an issue we could all agree on.

There is zero comparison between essentially telling someone they are a rapist just because they are born a man and saying I feel less inclined to support people who say that. Also, I never said I didn't support them as a whole. I actually was specific and said "Why would I support people who automatically lump me in with rapists." I didn't say why would I support women. I didn't say why would I support the anti rape movement. I said specifically said people who lump me in with rapists. So no, I am absolutely not doing the same thing. Learn some reading comprehension.

I didn't say you said that. I said when people use the phrases I stated. So once again, your accusations of what I'm saying are wrong. But if you are gonna narrow it down. Why not then narrow it down further? What specific groups of men are doing it? Or does that suddenly become not ok?

It's like talking to a brick wall of defensiveness. If you agree with the general message that too many men are raping women, you would not have spent all this time arguing about it. You'd say "not all men, but too many." Instead, you argue and argue to save your own imagined reputation.

Have a good night.

There you go doing exactly what people like you always do. Make an idiot "point" and then try to shut down conversation. You don't get to change this into me being defensive for no reason. Saying it's all men until no men is telling all men they are rapists. I have every reason and right to be defensive against that. I am no rapist. Stop acting morally superior and defending people who are generalizing an entire gender based off of less than 1% of their population. Accusing an entire gender of all commiting heinous crimes and then blaming them for pushing back against that is idiotic behavior. I agree that some men rape women. I agree those should be prevented and punished when they happen. I do not agree that stating all men are guilty because of those men like so many people do, is ok. If you actually cared about helping rape victims you would also push back against accusing all men. All that does is alienate men who otherwise be supportive, but why would they be supportive if they are being told they are rapists just for existing?

You're doing what "people like you" always do, too. Which is why I'm checking out. Lost cause.

Saying it's all men until no men is telling all men they are rapists.

Which i never did, but OK. Literally never did and you keep arguing this without hearing me. So, bye.

I didn't say you said that. I'm still on the subject of people who do. But you once again purposely misinterpreted what I said to try to make a bullshit case. Also, people like me? You mean people who don't like being called a rapist by others just because I happen to be male? Wild that I wouldn't like that and would call it out for what it is. I'm hearing you defend people who do say that. I'm hearing you delfect from the topic to try to make me the "bad guy" when I'm calling out dehumanizing tactics used by some. You are "checking out" because you can't actually argue a real point.

u/AnonymousSneetches 2h ago

No, I'm checking out because you're having a fight against something I'm not saying, you often resort to name calling and insults, and we're going in circles. You're not interested in understanding my argument, and that's clear, so I'm not going to waste time making it over and over again.

Think what you want of me, I do not mind. Lob more insults my way because I don't like how common it is for men to rape women.

Have a good night.

No, your checking out because I called out people who call all men rapists for no reason and you can handle that. Your "argument" is saying it's wrong to be offended over that and wrong to call it out. So go ahead and run.
