Everyone I know that got a tattoo, got a second one after a short time and had ideas for what they’d get all over them all the sudden. Definitely comes off as an addiction
I have 1. I might get another, might not. It changes based on my mood mostly. Never anything that can’t be covered by a long sleeve shirt. And nothing on the neck.
It's definitely an addiction. But for me it's pain that is manageable and the added factor of it being permanent. I have meaningful tattoos that are for me. Nothing on my face, though. I can cover every tattoo with pants and a long sleeve shirt if needed. Honestly, tattoos obviously hurt. However, after it's over with you you tell yourself that wasn't that bad at all so you start thinking about what else you could get. I'm addicted. But I don't let it burn my pockets.
Treating your skin (an organ) as a piece of paper is a mental illness. If I began to cut crosses with a scalpel on my skin people say I need a mental health professional. If I do the same but with someone else putting toxic ink they say wow cool tattoo.
If abusing your organs is symptom of mental illness, then every single person who smokes, drinks, does any type of drugs, eats ultra processed food, or doesn't regularly exercise is mentally ill.
People just make bad decisions. It's being human, not being mentally ill.
It is true forndrugs and smoking because that is an addiction. Same with being a junk food junkie.
However its not fitting for those who occasionally eat a burger simply because you can easily work that off and doesnt impact you if you live healthy. A tattoo is a permanent mark, and at least 6/10 on th3 crazy scale where 1 is occasionally eating a burger and 10 is being a crack addict wirhout teeth
Sry my dude, but 'not mingling' with some one based on looks or behaviour (since we brought up drugs and junkfood) isn't 'just a preference'. Its being prejudiced and not giving people a proper chance to show who they are. I know people who are addicted to drugs, but still lovely people who just suffer from intense trauma and use drugs to cope - which I don't agree with as a long-term strategy to be happy in life.
One can mingle with people and at the same time not agree with their life choices.
At least thats my opinion.
Sure. But beingcl tatted is a choice, and picking people you spend time is a voluntary thing. Nobody is entitled to my friendship, nor a chance to show who they are For me, being tatted visibly is a sign of crazy. I'd rather spend time with people who are totally normal
All wrong. I cook, dont smoke (hate smoekrs too), drink very rarely because I dont like alcohol that much. So yeah. Miss. Does it matter though? No. I could be some 500lbs reddit modnandnthe point flwould still stand. Tattoos are a mental illness, just a lower level one than what Lindsay Clancy has
Tattoos have been around for thousands of years. They have symbolized everything from protection from spirits, signs of social status, tribal affiliation, and as punishment for things like pirates. Indigenous peoples, and the Japanese are especially known for their intricate tattoos that often cover the whole body including the face and head. All of those people are mentally ill?
Yes, tattoos have been around, but so have been cultural norms. It's acceptable to have them, but companies have standards, like standards have existed been around for all of human existence.
IF a person doesn't fall in line, they get ousted. It's her choice, but really, did she think a major company would hire her looking like that?
🙄 There is a difference between branding a pirate, and some hood rat paying lots of money to ink random shit all over her face because she thinks it makes her look cool.
She even has a silhouette of an assault rifle 😂
So I think the insinuation that she has a mental illness comes from the notion that only an imbecile that’s not in their right mind would vandalize their face with no purpose other than trying to be edgy.
And don’t try to pawn this as, “sHe iS jUst ExPreSSInG HeRSELF!”.
Cut the crap.
Then again she could be expressing mental illness or poor judgement, because that is the message that comes across when interviewing for a job. 😂
Its not a delusion if true. I obviously dont have 200 IQ but I am smarter than the average person. Its not really hard though, as evennat 100 IQ you are smarter than half of people.
I am definitely smarter thsn those who pay hundreds of dollars to some 20 something stoner to ruin and poison their body with toxic ink
I didnt say inexperienced. They csn be great artists. But all I saw are young, sketchy looking, non medical professionals I wouldnt let near my organs by a mile. And the skin is an organ
What if they ink the area of their arshole, like with a spiderweb or a “I love you Luis” using the arshole as the O in the love word? Is that still mental illness? Asking for a friend
I read all your comments(whoa) and I was going to post a big long rebuttal but I've decided your ignorant and your mind can't be changed so you have the life you deserve and I'm headed to get a new tattoo.
Not my problem. But dont be surprised thst ifnyoucever reach a higher ladder on a corporate (unlikely tbh) then pureskin will easily take the opportunity from you, inkskin
Getting a tattoo isnt inherently a bad thing. But you get to a point where its no longer normal. Getting one on your back, chest or arms is considered normal in most societies. But once you start using your hands, face and neck it starts getting excessive. Theres even people you get tattoos on their tongues and eyebslls. Edit: since everyone is commenting on it. I didn't mean to include the hands. Not sure why that ended up in the text
Thats subjective. I work with a guy who has 2 arm sleeves and his chest tatted. Perfectly normal. But im sure the vast majority of people would agree that every single inch of your body isnt a canvas.
Why would they agree? 40 years ago everyone would agree that 2 arm sleeves and a chest tatted meant you were an ex-con.
Is it all subjective? Is there no commonality between those who desire to project their personality (real or desired), personal history, wants/desires, culture, etc. on their skin for all to see?
Yes its ALL subjective. But there is always going to be a point where it becomes excessive. Your desire to use every inch of your body for tattoos doesn't shield you from being judged for it. Tattoos were originally a cultural thing too
I have a mickey mouse head tattooed on my hand and my wife has a matching Minnie mouse and they line up when we hold hands. Please explain to me how that's excessive
It's all relative isn't it. In my youth a tattoo arm sleeve basically guaranteed you were a criminal, convicted or soon to be convicted, probably a drug addict or dealer, etc.. People would cross the street to avoid that person. Good luck finding a decent job.
Now you have high-ranking politicians with arms sleeves and more. "Normal" is entirely relative....which is kind of scary actually because it seems we keep sliding down that slippery slope, judging by current expectations of behavior from our leaders compared to decades ago.
Inking any part of your body idiotic, but being attention seeking isn’t the same as having mental illness and you’re right, the extent to which this has been done….there is something else going on here.
Being an attention whore is a sign of unhealthy mind. Balanced minds need no outside approval to be happy. Its not the same as a full blown medical mental illness but its a low level one and often a start. All of the people I know who are inked are crazy. All successful people I know has 0 ink and never will want one.
There is a reason you see rappers (with criminal ties) tatted to high hell while the average Ceo, lawyer, doctor has little to none. If it wouldnt matter you could tattoo on your face and it wouldnt affect your social prospects at all. I do support tattoos fornone reason, it says to me "dont mingle with me, I am an idiot"
My husband and I are both working professionals with PhDs and work-specific certifications. We have a lot of tattoos on both of our bodies, and we'll continue to get them. Just FYI, many highly successful people have tattoos.
I love it when people say no offense and then just say some wild shit. You’re a dope. You need to stop being so judgmental and focus on your own life instead of what other people decide to do with their own bodies. It’s weird.
People love to do whatever and then take offence when someone reacts. You’re welcome to doodle all yourself, rest of us are welcome to react to it. I’m not stopping you from doing it…same way as you can’t stop me from reacting to it or society showing you consequences of your actions.
It’s 2026. If someone with tattoos scares you that much, that’s on you. I see more people persecuting people with tattoos here than tattooed folk taking offense to people being upset by their tattoos. Listen to yourself, it’s embarrassing.
That goes for you too. Stop being so judgemental of people having different values than you and focus on your life not on what other people decide to base their friendships on. Being friends with, dating, etc are voluntsry things. You can decide to only do it with blonde people. If I exclude tatted people its my decision, wnd very valid. Tats alresdy show you make bad financial decisions and like to ruin your body. Not really someone I'd like to date or befriend.
Have you ever seen or heard about person who has gotten face tatoos and is mentally well? The face tatoos are list of bad decisions one after other that people with normal mental capacity do not make. Its like saying "Why do people say earth is round?"
Hell I have a friend who loves tattoos, he has a ton of tattoos...all over his body. They are really pretty, and they all mean something to him, its his passion.
He has zero face tattoos and its an area he say are off limits for him, why? Cause he knows getting face tattoos will limit his ability to have a good life to a degree.
He's also the CFO of a company, I very much doubt he would be have risen to CFO if he had face tattoos.
The lady who bought her son guns to shoot up his school in San Antonio has a ton of face tattoos. Correlation not causation, but that correlation between face tattoos and bad judgment is strong.
I have a friend who has fuck you and lowlife tattooed across her face and chest. She’s actually a total sweetheart but she’ll tell you she got those tattoos when she was a raging addict.
I agree the story is obviously fake but there's zero indication the image is made by AI. Anyone can make up a fake story about a real picture, that doesn't mean it's AI in the least.
First of all, the whole photo is blurry, it's no surprise you can't read one tattoo. Secondly, almost if not all the tattoos have to do with the Outer Banks, which yeah you can dismiss as saying it's part of the prompt, but I'd expect it to be much more random or much more consistent. Finally, the hair and eyebrows are too messy. AI images are a lot cleaner, and if you told it to make her hair messy, it'd be a lot messier.
Edit: Turns out we're both right! Same woman, different tattoos.
I'm thinking not. I grew up near the area referenced on her face. The outer Banks is in NC. Currituck County is nearby. It would be an oddly specific AI lol
When I see an idiot coming out of the joint with their face looking like Jigsaw. The first thing I think is what an idiot. This guy never wants to work a real job again. Second is did you do this on purpose or did someone else force this on you ? To make sure to seriously fuck up any chances of employment.
Almost ensuring you go back to crime and end up behind bars again.
Tattoos actually aren't part of pagan culture. Sure some of them had/have them but they aren't really tied to the religion. Also the irony of calling people with tattoos mentally ill while believing in an invisible man is the sky is just yeah.
You’re right in the sense that even most pagan cultures never used tattoos. But the few tattoos that did exist in history were pretty much always pagan religious symbols.
Calling someone who believes in God mentally ill when that’s something like 99.99% of humans throughout history have done is pretty funny. If mental illness is deviance from widely accepted societal norms then atheism is mental illness.
Oooo time for history my favorite. The earliest known tattoos have been around since the 4th millennium approximately 3370-3100 BCE. However the term pagan from the Latin paganus meaning country-dweller was invented in the 4th century by Christians as a VERY broad term encompassing anyone who didn't believe in an abrahamic religion. So most "pagan" symbols and culture just aren't Christian symbols and could be from thousands of other religions. Sidenote you should really look into pagan influence in Christianity. Now maybe religion as a whole isn't a mental illness but blind unquestionable faith in an unprovable deity while said deity is used as an excuse for slavery, inequality, war, genocide and abuse is absolutely a mental illness. Also your 99.99 percent belief in God throughout history is wildly off. Homo sapiens EVOLVED approximately 300,000 years ago in Africa and developed into modern humans approximately 125,000 years ago. And while they may have practiced some form of religion. Monotheism or the believe in one god started around 3400 years ago. In modern times approximately 83-86% of people believe in God or a higher power but that number skews depending on where and how the question is asked. In the United States approximately 81% of people believe in God a number which has been on the decline. And lastly Atheism is defined as a lack of belief in God or gods. So I'd like you to explain how that's a mental illness
Whats to say something wasnt due to a mental illness that was never treated as a child.
Adhd being the main one. Kid isnt treated cant focus in school thinks they have no future. s
Starts doing stupid shit because thats what people keep saying to them thats all they will amount to.
If you assume common sense truly exists in this day and age then your user name wouldnt be icorrectstupid people.
I dont belive common sense truly exists anymore the way it used to. Simply because people lives are so drastically different they share little things in common.

Why do people say this is mental illness? It's simple stupidity.
