Still, Eu is a burocratic hellscape who lost the train to every new technology to China and Us

Quantum computing is Europe's advantage, but just not in the news a lot. Frontier physics? Europe. Nuclear Fusion? Europe. MAB cancer treatments? Europe. Genetic therapies? Europe. And China is building the first production molten salt reactor based off of work done... in Europe.

And China is building the first production molten salt reactor based off of work done... in Europe.

Because nobody could manage the regulatory burden of trying to build it in the EU… I’m not gonna try to defend Tesla’s bullshit with this car, but the EU glazing going on is ridiculous.

I live in Albuquerque, NM and we have multiple quantum computing companies, fusion companies, and some genetic therapy companies and leading edge medical manufacturers.

Oh, and the first molten salt nuclear reactor was built at Oak Ridge based upon designs from Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque.

I legitimately thought you were talking about where I live right now, lol.

Which of the two is banning chinese cars out of fear again?

4

u/FinishComplex3743 4h ago

It's not out of fear, it's economic protectionism and every country on earth does it for something.

1

u/aging_like_fine_NFTs 4h ago

Its not fear, its just anxiety over being utterly defeated

Strange that nuance suddenly emerges when the US is the topic and not the EU, isnt it?

2

u/FinishComplex3743 4h ago

Where's the nuance in your comment again?

u/aging_like_fine_NFTs 4h ago

The same place as the comment I replied to

The irony given the fact that the EU auto manufacturers are getting decimated while the EU economy is struggling

1

u/aging_like_fine_NFTs 2h ago

You mean VW, even Renault is growing my guy

Also, very easy to not be "decimated" when you ban competition

Wonder how much longer that'll last now that your empire is crumbling and you have to pay the same gas prices as the rest of the world

EU thought European cars would lead the innovation for electric vehicles but they've been postponing the introduction of original proposals

0

u/Graaarg999 4h ago

Both EU and USA have huge tariffs on chinese cars. Iirc in EU is 50% and they are competitive for their price still. England doesnt and Chinese autos are selling in record numbers

0

u/aging_like_fine_NFTs 4h ago

They're banned in the US. You can't buy one.

0

u/Graaarg999 4h ago

I can because I am not American

u/aging_like_fine_NFTs 4h ago

You said this lil buddy:

Both EU and USA have huge tariffs on chinese cars

Go back to your 6 7 reels

1

u/Graaarg999 4h ago

Your point? I'm older than you. Are you a bot?

2

u/Faumann 4h ago

Us XD. No one lost anythign to Us, Us is losing to it self and is besides War competing with nothing.

2

u/Graaarg999 4h ago

Tbf i don't care about USA and hope the empire of evil will fall sooner, but i'm a bit concerned about who governs the EU

They missed the tech boom. Now europe is dependent almost exclusively on American tech companies for European businesses and government to function

3

u/-HowAboutNo- 3h ago

Yeah Europe was under the impression that the US were stable long term allies.

1

u/GumboMustBeDestroyed 17m ago

Dont defend them, they also tied themselves to russian gas and oil.

1

u/Vik1ng 2h ago

US is lagging far behind on electric cars.

And you can thank us for everything having UsB-C now.

1

u/Graaarg999 1h ago

I am European do i thank myself?

1

u/CirnoIzumi 54m ago

Except Lithography

Also a European did the first airport to airport flight with a flying car

1

u/SomeNotTakenName 53m ago

Right, because the US isn't a bureaucratic hellscape?

last time they tried to save 2 trillion in government spending they cut a bunch of genuinely helpful social systems and still increased spending by 2 trillion.

What would you call increased spending with decreased services if not bloated bureaucracy?

Meanwhile the in development European satellite internet requires like 1/100th of the satellites that US's one does. Sometimes being second is a good chance to avoid the mistakes of the first guy.
