Is this dystopian future in the room with us?

France is literally one of the best places to live on Earth, in literally the best time in human history...

Idk if you're French and having some misplaced patriotism, but personally I am French and I really don't feel like it's one of the best place. A few years ago I thought really high of it, nowadays not so much. It's also due to problems beyond France, but I'd say the future is very bleak.

And while it may be still a pretty good country to live in, I don't think it's a reason to stop at that.

This young generation knows that if they do nothing, they'll have their retirement around 85 years old, and suffer summers with 50°C.

This has nothing to with being French or not, the same thing could be said about almost any Western European country as they're roughly the same in terms of relative welfare.

People would benefit a lot from (1) learning about history and (2) learning about the overall state of the world and what was and is "normal"/average for living conditions.

I'm not saying they should stop there, but fighting and destroying your infrastructure when not having enough welfare was your problem in the first place is completely idiotic and a waste of resources. There are better ways to make developments...
