Matrix Headlights

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Why doesn’t Tesla do this with their Matrix Headlights? Seems like this can be done with a software update. Pretty cool!

Edit: I think some people are missing the point on this video. Your low beams light up the entire road. What you’re seeing in the video is the high beams lighting up a section of road in front of the car. Then when you change lanes those high beams shift to that lane so you can see better.

I don't think Tesla can do that (at this level) with a software upgrade. Audi uses matrix headlights with a much higher resolution.

If I remember correctly Tesla uses less than 100 segments per light. The newest Audi lights have thousands of segments, they're basically led projectors.

u/Tupcek 2d ago edited 1d ago

Tesla used to had thousands of segments, but reduced it to cheaper version. Newer ones can’t project “Tesla” on the wall, older ones could.

edit: thanks for pointing out, only Highland has lower resolution, Juniper has the same

15

u/wallix 2d ago

I swear I did a light show in my garage and it projected Tesla on the wall in my juniper Y. Or am I just imagining that?

9

u/Tupcek 2d ago

interesting, I assumed Juniper also have lower resolution, because they went to lower resolution for Highland. Strange choice, given how similar their pricing is

8

u/liuhanshu2000 2d ago

Only Highland gets the cheaper LED reflector lights. Juniper is back to LED projectors

Yes. That was a 100 pixel module

2

u/bsc5425_1 New to the sub 2d ago

No they didn't. They had 100. It was the Samsung pixcell module.

6

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Interesting OK, I never knew Tesla had so few segments.

14

u/carfo 1d ago

I wish my Tesla had a HUD

4

u/Substantial_Chain718 1d ago

Agreed! This would be a nice feature too.

21

u/DieSackgasse 2d ago

Not possible.. Teslas Headlights have a low resolution compared to this system.

3

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Yes, several people have said that. I didn’t know Tesla’s were such low resolution.

1

u/Vmansuria New to the sub 1d ago

My 2023 M3 does something similar but not exactly this with the lane change. It turns on high beams when high beams are set to auto and then turns of the specific high beam lights that will blind other drivers. You can notice it better when there is a median and your driving next to it

1

u/DieSackgasse 1d ago

Its the normal Matrix function yes. But this, i think, Audi has much more Pixels than every Tesla

1

u/ippleing 2d ago

Not completely true.

Early models have extremely high resolution, whilst newer models lack the pixels needed for such clean lines.

3

u/bsc5425_1 New to the sub 2d ago

No they had 100 pixels (it was a Samsung 100 pixel "pixcell" module) this system is in the thousands (not sure which osram led module is being used but they are multiple thousands)

7

u/iJeff 2d ago

The resolution is too low on their latest Matrix headlights.

7

u/ronin_cse 1d ago

My matrix headlights already carve out the light around other vehicles, I don’t see why I would want it to just be on the lane I’m in.

It might be fine in a highway like this but if I’m driving in a rural area I absolutely need to see both sides of the road to try and see deer or other animals that might jump in front of me.

2

u/kabadisha New to the sub 1d ago

Mine in my VW Tiguan do this too, but I hate it and it can't be turned off. They are too slow and end up blinding oncoming drivers for 0.5-1 second on a good day, which I find unacceptable.

When ever I use my high-beams, I have to push the stalk forward once to enable them in auto mode, then wait a beat, then push forward again to put them in manual mode. Only then will they dip when I pull the stalk back.

If I leave it in auto mode and then pull the stalk because it hasn't dipped fast enough, it flashes them full-bore, making me look like an asshole.

1

u/enurkul New to the sub 1d ago

The light in the one lane is the high beam, the low beams are on too. You just can tell.

5

u/KilllllerWhale New to the sub 2d ago

How is that useful when a deer comes from the side, ie the lane not lit !?

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Again your low beams are on and covering the entire road and area in front of you. It’s only directly in front of you where the high beams are lit. If you were on a road all by yourself, the high beams would automatically be on.

2

u/ronin_cse 1d ago

I still want the high beams on the side so I can see the deer earlier.

1

u/redinvesting 1d ago

My exact thoughts...

I guess in a way they could actually make the center lane beams even brighter and do both?

Although the cars that actually could do this are no longer produced (S & X)

31

u/wraper New to the sub 2d ago

This is actually really stupid. It creates blind zones for no practical reason whatsoever. Driver should be aware what happens around, not just in their lane. Normal matrix lights prevent blinding other cars while providing best lighting everywhere else.

9

u/Chris20nyy New to the sub 2d ago

There are no "blind zones". Everything that would be illuminated with low beams is still illuminated. It's using projector beams as "high" beams to light up space that wouldn't be occupied by another vehicle.

Just do some reading on it if you don't understand.

2

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

You do know the low beam headlights are still on and illuminating the entire road right? The high beams are focused in front of the car so the driver can see more details. I’m not sure why this would be a bad thing. There are no blind zones with this setup.

8

u/wraper New to the sub 2d ago

Illuminating much weaker. Eyes adapt to the brightness. If you look on something bright, you'll see darker areas much worse. And considering humans have much worse peripheral vision to begin with, you will not notice lot of things. This is literally putting a lot of effort to make it worse.

1

u/Chris20nyy New to the sub 2d ago

So when you switch from high beam to low beam you're saying it's dangerous? Dude, use some logic.

•

u/Infamous-Candle-2300 New to the sub 21h ago

Looking at something comparatively bright reduces your sensitivity to darker stimuli. Switching from high beams to low actually does require your eyes to adjust which could be dangerous, but the effect is fleeting and the alternatives, i.e. leaving your brights on in an inappropriate situation, are more dangerous.

This differs completely from hitting the center of the road with your high beams and side of the road with headlights. Assuming your eyes are on the road (bold ask for a Tesla driver) then your eyes will be adjusted to the high beams with diminished ability to resolve shapes in the darker peripheral vision... for the whole duration of your drive... This is something that's immediately obvious to the smart commenters here and painfully out of reach for the inbred monkeys who think this is practical.

•

u/Chris20nyy New to the sub 19h ago

Amazing inbred monkeys are designing these systems! It's almost like they've researched and developed these systems with data that supports their benefits and aren't on Reddit listening to the experts!

•

u/Infamous-Candle-2300 New to the sub 9h ago

You misunderstand, the inbred monkeys are driving them. The designers know this is impractical and dangerous, but were told to include it by c-suite. Just like flush mounted door handles, if it drives profit up beyond the expected cost of settlements, then it goes on the car. Hard to believe some people are still ignorant of how companies work.

1

u/DetectiveVinc New to the sub 1d ago

the logic is there, you just can not grasp it

1

u/Chris20nyy New to the sub 1d ago

That's the thing. The logic isn't there.

3

u/wraper New to the sub 1d ago

The logic it that this feature makes lighting worse for no practical reason. Even assuming that peripheral lighting is good enough, it's still worse than it would be with this feature absent.

11

u/Pete77a New to the sub 2d ago

The other problem I see in this is that having bright areas means your eyes adjust to those accordingly. So the low beam area don't "look" as Bright as your pupils have adjusted so you see worse in the areas you also want to see details

5

u/AJ_Mexico 2d ago

I like how happy it's making that driver.

4

u/wasterman123 New to the sub 2d ago

Teslas matrix module is a more basic one and isn’t as high def as Audi or Mercedes versions.

4

u/rexlites New to the sub 2d ago

etc elipsoidal + a local stagehand strapped to the top of your car would give you a much cheaper version of this.

3

u/justvims 2d ago

My etron does this and it’s pretty awesome tbh.

1

u/CookieMons7er 2d ago

It looks cool. But what's the practical advantage?

4

u/justvims 2d ago

It puts auto high beams on and then removes the specific places oncoming traffic is in so they aren’t blinded. The light carpet is mostly for show but it also shows exactly where your left and right wheel are which is helpful (it’s hard to see in the image but it does)

2

u/CookieMons7er 2d ago

shows exactly where your left and right wheel are

That could be helpful but in the video it seems to jump between different thresholds, which can be deceiving...

3

u/justvims 2d ago

When you signal or shift lanes it jumps to the next one and signals into the path of the lane next to you. Trust me, it’s useful and nice. If money was no object it’s a huge plus. Particularly for the always on high beams

4

u/Handsomedork_ 1d ago

Technology is cool

45

u/ngvuanh 2d ago

You better can see whole road ahead, not just your lane. That looks stupid.

6

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

In the video, the low beams are on lighting up the entire road. The high beams are concentrated in front of the car and the next lane over when you change lanes.

-1

u/ngvuanh 2d ago

What's the point for the high to point below the low beam? We need safety more than that nonsense look.

8

u/Crazyhairmonster 2d ago

Because it's brighter and it lights the lane in front of you further so you can see better right in front of you. Who cares how it looks, it has a functional purpose that falls into the safety category

1

u/IToldManyManyPeople 2d ago

... you realize you get both with this right?

8

u/Low_Composer_2804 New to the sub 1d ago

Tesla’s matrix headlights cannot be compared to the much more expensive matrix headlights found on premium brands. The number of pixels in Tesla’s lighting system is only a fraction of the pixel count in those far costlier headlights from premium manufacturers. Consequently, it is physically impossible to achieve the same results using Tesla’s OEM headlights.

5

u/zemaker 2d ago

As part of cost cutting Tesla reduced the resolution of their matrix headlights with the current crop of cars, they can’t project as accurately as whatever car is being shown in this video.

17

u/billm0066 2d ago

Looks distracting and not practical.

64

u/thisguynextdoor 2d ago

That's just stupid gimmick

29

u/Outside_Drive_3105 2d ago

In fact it's the most useless gimmick, instead of lighting up everything so you have good visibility it limits it just to your lane.

15

u/StumpyJoeShmo New to the sub 2d ago

Everything is lit up by standard headlights, tho. These allow you to use brights without being a nuisance to other drivers. So you actually have visibility everywhere plus extra visibility in your direct path where potholes and debris might be. The blinker bit is the only gimmicky thing I see here.

u/wetef27 New to the sub 1d ago

I think you're confusing the highway demonstration with the full capabilities of matrix headlights. The road is already illuminated, and what you're seeing is the system selectively controlling the high beams to avoid dazzling other drivers.

On country roads and through wooded areas, conventional high beams illuminate the road and its surroundings, but they also risk dazzling oncoming traffic. Matrix headlights can selectively switch off individual LED segments to create a cut-out around oncoming vehicles or vehicles ahead, while keeping the high beams active across the rest of the scene.

That means you can still illuminate the verges, bends and surrounding woodland without blinding other drivers. You're not sacrificing roadside visibility just because another vehicle is approaching. That's the whole point of matrix headlights.

2

u/Julian679 New to the sub 1d ago

This is stupid and i dont know how its even made and legal. Europe has light pattern designed specifically to give best ilumination of the road shoulders, this is literally a joke. -1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

In the video, the low beams are on lighting up the entire road. The high beams are concentrated in front of the car and the next lane over when you change lanes.

2

u/InsipidIdiot New to the sub 2d ago

Doesn’t seem like the best idea to high beam the small area where it is in the video as your eye doesn’t have variable adjustments to brightness in different areas, the low beam area will be perceived as darker as they adjust to the relative brightness of the small high beam area. The way the matrix lights are now are sufficient to avoid blinding others while allowing for a wide field of view.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

You would really have to see it in person. The video doesn’t do it justice. With the low beams covering the entire roadway you see just as you normally would in any other car. The high beam portion is concentrated to the front of your car only to give you more visibility. Again, you’d have to see it in person to really understand how well it works.

1

u/epradox 2d ago

Yeah but why? Why not just have everything illuminated with your high beams other than cars and peds? You’re giving up illumination far out on the sides where a deer might just decide to run into the road and you won’t see it til it’s directly in your lane. I’d be more impressed if it was able to block out reflective signs but keep everything around still illuminated.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

You can’t drive on busy roads with your high beams on. If you are on a road all by yourself your high beams will automatically come on in a Tesla. This feature allows you to have your high beams on directly in front of you without affecting other drivers.

•

u/Antique_Shirt_2391 New to the sub 15h ago

Nice and all, but one minor fender bender and broken light and insurance writes off your car as uneconomical to repair.

This was my friend's fender bender on his new Audi. Insurances wrote it off due to cost to repair... and he works for the Insurance Company.

He got a VW after this. Cheaper to repair.

2

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

True those lights are probably $3000 apiece.

3

u/BloodSteyn New to the sub 2d ago

My other friend has a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, his broker told him a cracked headlight would be a write-off... since 2019.

Insurance companies are such a scam, but you're fucked without them.

They will write off your car, pay out then auction it off to someone that will repair it for cheap to resell it.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Too funny. Yes can’t live with them and can’t live without him.

1

u/Big-Sky-4622 New to the sub 2d ago

Less than $800 for the pair.. Install yourself for free or pay a shop. Takes about 2 hours. I converted my 2019 model 3. Decided to pay a shop. $1300, out the door.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

I was referring to the new Audi headlights. There are at least 3K each.

2

u/psaux_grep 2d ago

Upcharged through the roof. Like the Porsche headlights at 8k a pop. Which is why people take can openers to them and steal yours.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Yes, exactly. You see this a lot in Europe. People literally cut the headlights out of cars they are that expensive. I looked these up for the Audi and they’re 5K each from a third-party seller. From the dealer, they’re probably 8 to 10K with installation.

2

u/Blazah 2d ago

What does it do off the highway?

3

u/Humble-Area4616 New to the sub 2d ago

Lights up everything. Looks ahead and automatically dims the high beams ONLY in the direct line of sight of oncoming vehicles and leaves everything else bright. Automatically adjusts the high beams for vehicles ahead of you to not blind them.

2

u/Humble-Area4616 New to the sub 2d ago

I have these on my Porsche Cayenne and they are beyond phenomenal.

2

u/StreetSmartsGaming 2d ago

They work incredible in NA I used them for three years. You can see them turn off only for the areas other cars or people are looking at. For a while the adaptive lighting wasnt legal so it would just blast the whole grid and blind the hell out of people, but it was basically like a very wide square of daytime in the dark.

If they suck where you are its probably because your gov is restricting some part of the tech. There are a lot of regulations around headlights depending on your country/state.

2

u/word-dragon 1d ago

Well, lights serve two functions. They enable you to see, and they make it easier for others to see you.. Tesla tries to have it be a standard low beam for oncoming traffic and close cars in front, and a high beam for everywhere else. Not really clear to me what the lights in your video actually accomplish. You don’t see the deer running into the road until it’s right in front of you, and not clear how the guy you tailgate sees it.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 1d ago

This video is on an expressway with other cars. The low beams are on all the time, the high beams are on directly in front of the car. If I was on a country road with no other cars, the high beams would be on and spread out across multiple lanes like normal high beams.

2

u/thegreatpotatogod 1d ago

The headlights have lanekeeping! That's delightful, would definitely be a cool feature, even if not particularly necessary

•

u/Pfytzdzheryld New to the sub 10h ago

For one, I thought Tesla already had this elsewhere in the world. They even had a show I think in Berlin where they had the headlights projecting "TESLA" onto a wall.

For another, I really wish they had this in the US. People can talk about auto headlights "being enough" or "you need visibility" as though the other drivers outright can't see the headlights if they aren't beamed directly at you. But "visibility of headlights" is a problem exactly nowhere unless it's people who are completely missing headlights. You only need a dim strip or something to be plenty visible. The big problem is people being unable to see the road because of the headlights of other cars.

So this helps with the actual problem.

But also, this particular implementation is definitely more showy than practical. The turn signal is kinda cool, if a bit confusing to drivers who aren't already aware of it. But the point of matrix headlights should be to maximize how much of the road it lights up. By blocking out other drivers, you can go full-bore right up to the road behind them and the road around them. So having it only highlight the lane kinda defeats the purpose. A deer jumping from the side is unlit in this case.

If they wanted to keep those features, what they could do instead is have full-width projection, and then indicate the lane by using a different color or (more practically) dimming out the lane lines. That would indicate where the lanes are without affecting visibility much.

5

u/rsg1234 Owner 2d ago

Terrible idea. The point is to light up as much as possible while not blinding other drivers. Why wouldn’t you want to see other lanes where there might be a an animal crossing etc?

6

u/punkrkr27 New to the sub 2d ago

That is how Rivian’s lights work. The high beams light up nearly your entire field of view and then just carve out a small section when there is an oncoming vehicle or something else that is highly reflective.

7

u/rsg1234 Owner 2d ago

Tesla’s work the same. Great headlights.

1

u/punkrkr27 New to the sub 2d ago

Interesting. I wasn’t aware Tesla had this. I knew they had matrix lighting hardware, but I thought they were like a lot of other manufacturers who had gotten caught in the situation of the US regulations going into effect and then the hardware not meeting those regulations. It’s such a nice feature. I’ve owned my R1S for over a year now and I’ve literally never touched a single headlight setting.

2

u/rsg1234 Owner 2d ago

Yeah my wife’s MYP was among the first Teslas to get the hardware back in 2022 and then the software was pushed out in 2024 or so.

1

u/rainer_d 2d ago

They are active in Europe and where else they are legal.

2

u/BaxBaxPop 2d ago

Exactly. Tesla's matrix headlights are designed so the FSD cameras can see absolutely everything that could be at all significant to driving decisions. It's not about looking cool. It's about autonomy, while not blinding the cars or houses around you.

1

u/No-Influence-2760 1d ago

I’m curious how these react with a car in front of this car. The Tesla ones are completely dark if there’s someone like 100 feet in front of me. Seems dangerous lol

2

u/exipheas 2d ago

The lights are on the other lanes. Just at a low beam level. This is just selective "high beam" level brightness.

6

u/rsg1234 Owner 2d ago

Yeah I’d rather have high beam brightness in a wider range.

1

u/epradox 2d ago

Low beams are still angled down and have a finite range

4

u/blvckcard 2d ago

Because the resolution of Tesla’s Matrix Light is, compared to german manufactures, very poor. It would not work as good as shown in this, I believe Audi.

3

u/Fidget808 2d ago

Why would you want to only see your lane and not the whole road?

I really like matrix headlights and the ability to keep brights on without blinding others going the opposite direction but this is just stupid

The latest Model Y matrix headlight in my opinion is better than what’s happening in this video. Its high beam has many small sections that automatically be turn on/off independently to provide great coverage without blinding. You can actually see when a car is moving in front of you, how the individual sections in the space gets turned on and off gradually. And they have to be good otherwise FSD won’t work at night.

It’s an Audi Q3

1

u/Uglie 2d ago

It’s stupid just light the entire road

0

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

In the video, the low beams are on lighting up the entire road. The high beams are concentrated in front of the car and the next lane over when you change lanes.

1

u/TheLegendaryWizard 2d ago

Because seeing things on the side of the road that might run out into your lane is important too

What was the problem this solved

1

u/izzeo 2d ago

I'm pretty sure the reason has to do with the certification / regulation and even though they're legal in the US, local laws still haven't caught up. Here is an article on the Audi bring them to America.

Thank you for the link. In the video, the low beams are on lighting up the entire road. The high beams are concentrated in front of the car and the next lane over when you change lanes.

u/brsmr123 2d ago

Gimmicky but cool at the same time lol.

1

u/Primary-User 2d ago

I really like this. Every time I get an update from Tesla being a HW3 owner in Australia I am always annoyed that they include such garbage. But if they include this, I would be really impressed. Thanks for sharing OP. Whilst the company is off making a remote control flying drone that used some technology for the US defence system, they should have been doing things like this.

Simply disable the lane highlight mode and boom, you got full peripheral coverage. This video shows a single mode and people start shitting on matrix LED in general without knowing how it works. I've been driving cars with led matrix for over 10 years and will never go back.

These headlights are a good example of how most people see the world. Narrowly

1

u/CookieMons7er 2d ago

Why would I want my high beams to only light a narrow strip in front of me instead of everything out can except for other driver's eyes? This is what I call a gimmick

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

You would probably have to see it in person to really appreciate it. Your low beams are on illuminating everything in front of you but your highbeams are on directly in front of you so you can see better.

2

u/wraper New to the sub 2d ago

directly in front of you so you can see better.

And don't see anything else because surely potential dangers are always right in front of you only.

Because it’s gimmicky. If it can produce a brighter spot in any shape it wants, it means the light source is powerful enough to light up the entire low beam plane to that brightness. It’s intentionally reducing the total output your light is capable of in order to give you this light show.

Also, for human night vision it’s actually better to light up the field of vision evenly than to light up a spot, because your eyes will adjust to that contrast, and now area outside of your light carpet feels even dimmer, and if something shot across the road you are more likely to miss it

u/Minute-Flan13 New to the sub 2d ago

I...don't understand. You should NEVER have high beams on in the presence of other cars, even if you're in a lane over. I'm hoping that's at least being accounted for. Imagine being tailgated by someone with that...

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 1d ago

If you are tailgating someone the lights adjust to not blind them. It’s completely dynamic, depending on the cars next to you in front of you and coming towards you.

1

u/Ok_Giraffe8865 1d ago

I would find that annoying, I like how my Tesla works just fine.

0

u/IcyZookeepergame1712 New to the sub 2d ago

Ya Tesla invented those matrix lights. Good the Europeans are stealing ideas

0

u/wallix 2d ago

It is lighting the entire road if you look. What you’re seeing in the video is just the high beams getting focused it looks like.

-1

u/Artist-Healthy 2d ago

Cool tech but why would you ever want less light from your low beams.

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

In the video, the low beams are on lighting up the entire road. The high beams are concentrated in front of the car and the next lane over when you change lanes.

2

u/bustex1 2d ago

People apparently are too dumb to understand what’s going on. Everyone is acting that the headlights only light up the road in front of you and are off and provide no illumination to anything else. The stupidity just blows me away. People are thinking the oem just turned off any illumination on the sides? Like wtf lmao?

u/PuddingFart69 New to the sub 2d ago

To make content of course.

-1

u/WatchStoredInAss New to the sub 2d ago

I'll take "safely see as much as I can at night" versus "a stupid fucking gimmick."

It's equivalent to the shitbox drivers who turn off their lights and leave the foglights on to make their car seem lower...or something.

0

u/bsc5425_1 New to the sub 2d ago

Because the LEDs or dlp that can do this are really expensive and don't really make the driving any safer

0

u/Michael-Brady-99 2d ago

Seems less safe as the you can’t see to the right or left of the headlight beam as well.

0

u/Kuberos New to the sub 2d ago

This party trick only is relevant if you're the only one on a rather empty the road with that trick. If all cars have that and it's heavy traffic, this is pure visual chaos.

2

u/Substantial_Chain718 2d ago

Again, your regular low beams are on, but your highbeams are on as well in front of your car so you can see better without blinding other drivers. I do not see how this is distracting. Technically you’re the only one seeing it unless you change lanes it will project into the other lane for a few seconds.

1

u/Kuberos New to the sub 2d ago

If the cars next to you, behind you and in front of you have the same headlights trick, surely you can see how it is way less practical.

0

u/Whit3boy316 2d ago

I need to see more than just my lane

0

u/brohampton538 New to the sub 2d ago

yes, because of course there's nothing outside of the confines of the lane markers that anyone would want to be aware of

0

u/Comfortable_Client80 1d ago

Because Tesla does it better, high beams everywhere apart on other cars. No need for this square in front of you.

0

u/myke2241 New to the sub 1d ago

Tesla has some of the worst headlights. Why don't they do matrix headlights? Probably because they don't want to bound to US or EU rules and regs, margins are thin etc

•

u/KalamawhoMI 17h ago

They already do matrix headlights lol keep up!

•

u/myke2241 New to the sub 16h ago

Their implementation is absolutely garbage then!

•

u/ElectricGlider 14h ago

You really have no idea what you're talking about. The matrix headlight behavior for the Tesla's that do have it operate much better than the OP video because Tesla actually illuminates everything on high beam except for specific vehicles. Illuminating one lane and nothing else is completely stupid since it prevents you from seeing any other potential hazards. Look here to see Tesla's matrix headlights in action.

u/myke2241 New to the sub 10h ago

I'm wondering if you have ever been the front seat of any vehicle!

•

u/toochtooch New to the sub 5h ago

This is how mine works too also light shows use matrix headlights...

•

u/MachineInevitable218 New to the sub 14h ago

it definitely isn't, why are you talking on things you haven't experienced and don't understand? model Y premium has them and they are amazing. high beams in places no other cars can use them, lighting the surrounding shoulders and treelines while keeping light off of other cars passing by in either direction
