Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.
As the title suggests, I have some questions about whether TRT might be the right approach for me. Before anything else, I’d like to explain my background and what I’m hoping to achieve.
I’m 31 years old, and my baseline bloodwork is as follows:
- DHT: 29.0 ng/dL
- IGF-1: 140.0 ng/mL
- E2: 24.0 pg/mL
- Testosterone: 661.0 ng/dL
Unlike many people here, I’m not a bodybuilder. My goal with TRT is to maximize my athletic performance and take it to the next level as an MMA fighter.
I train MMA intensely five days a week and combine that with strength training sessions three days a week.
I’ve been experimenting with peptides for a while, such as reta for weight cuts, CJC to stimulate HGH production, etc.
As I mentioned above, I want to take my performance to the next level. If you watch competitive events, I’m not talking about the UFC, as those aren’t my aspirations, but rather local competitions. However, I do want to take this seriously and push my physical performance to another level: being able to train every day without that feeling of fatigue, improving recovery, gaining lean mass, and so on.
Aside from that, I’ve been going to the gym since I was 16, although my training has often been intermittent. I may not have the best physique, but I’ve built a solid, athletic body.
I won’t ramble on any longer; I just wanted to give you some context.
I’ve spent quite some time studying, reading, and researching this topic.
I was considering starting TRT with 250 mg of Test E to see how my body responds. I’ll have an AI on hand, and I’ve chosen Aromasin (exemestane). I’ll also have Nolvadex (tamoxifen) as a SERM in case I develop any signs of gynecomastia and need to manage them.
This is where my questions begin:
- Given what I’m looking for, would it make more sense to stay on TRT, or should I consider doing a cycle followed by PCT instead?
- If I do need PCT, would Nolvadex be enough, or would Clomid be a better option?
- Money isn’t an issue. I want to do things properly and minimize side effects as much as possible, ideally avoiding them altogether. Is hCG worth including if you can afford it, or should its use depend on what your body tells you?
- I know I’ve chosen a suicidal AI. Since I’m such a beginner, I’m worried about not knowing how to manage my E2 levels. Any advice?
- Finally, is hair loss also a concern with this type of TRT? In other words, does it also cause DHT levels to increase?
- I’ve seen cycle lengths ranging from 12 to 20 weeks. What’s generally recommended?
- I’m also concerned about my fertility. I assume there are risks, but realistically, how likely is it to become infertile if you do everything properly?
I’m starting after a previous cut, which should have left me at around 12–13% body fat, so I’d expect aromatization to be relatively well controlled or within the normal range.
Thank you all very much for taking the time to read my post.
I’d really appreciate your advice, whether positive or negative, because one of the things I’m trying to figure out is whether this is actually the right path for me.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts! :)
