Other thaievisa.go.th giving “Something went wrong” when I try to start my application

• Upvotes

Anyone else having trouble with the official Thai e-visa site right now? I registered and logged in with no problem, and the dashboard loads fine. But the moment I click to edit/start my application (/apply-application) I just get “Something went wrong, please refresh the page and try again.” Refreshing does nothing.

Checked the browser console and there’s a 502 Bad Gateway on one of their JS files (PhoneField-something.js), so I’m guessing it’s their server and not me, but who knows.

Has this happened to anyone recently? Did it fix itself after a while, or is there something I should be doing differently? Also if anyone has found a way to actually reach their support, I’d love to know. Tried Chrome, Safari and incognito, same thing

Thanks!

Phuket/Krabi/South Advice for domestic flight in Thailand

• Upvotes

Hi, my family and I are planning a trip to Thailand. We are first going to Krabi, then flying to Bangkok, and returning home from there. I was checking the Krabi to Bangkok flights just now, and for some reason, none of them allow check-in bags, only hand bags. This has a limit of 7kgs as well.

I wanted to ask firstly, is this the norm in domestic flights? Will i not be able to find any flight with check-in that's still decently priced? and secondly, we can make it work by just bringing 7kg bags as we are 4 girls, so we can distribute the stuff between ourselves. But what are the allowances? Cause in my country we have restrictions on what's allowed and what's not in a hand baggage?

Other Thailand proved the blackpill for me

• Upvotes

I was always skeptical of the blackpill, I naively bought into the whole radlib bluepill “just-world” and “just be confident bro” nonsense out of misplaced optimism.

After a while in Thailand, I am 100% certain blackpill is LAW and you would have to be an oofy doofy/betabuxx or a woman to believe otherwise.

I never once saw a genuinely good looking western man with a Thai woman, NEVER. The only white men I saw with Thai girls were Sub5s - LTNs. Everytime I saw a HTN or Chadlite white guy with a girl in Thailand, it was ALWAYS a western white girl they probably met at a pub crawl or hostel.

Further corroborating this is the fact that I NEVER saw a genuine HTB /Stacy Thai girl with a white man. The most attractive Thai women I saw were always with Thai men or sometimes east asian chadlites. Hypergamy is real and persists across cultures and economies.

What really got to me was when I would talk to some of these Sub5s white guys and they seemed to have genuinely convinced themselves they were “not attracted to white women” and just so happened to end up with their Thai girlfriend not because of their geo-arbitrage but because they were just so much more attracted to Thai ethnicity.

What a joke man. Imagine deluding yourself into thinking you are not physically attracted to women of your own race. Does it get more oofy doofy than that? On the other hand, I can’t entirely blame these guys. They would be forever alone in the west, white women would literally consider them less than human, and they would never be able to reproduce. But still man you have to have some self awareness.

Blackpill is law guys don’t ever get it twisted

Other Sexpat here (No offence intended)

• Upvotes

I don't know what is wrong with this.

I've just heard the term "sexpat" recently, and I realised I'm one of those especially towards Thailand.

Let me elaborate about this, I'm a mid 30 guy from the middle east, I had sex with women before ,but I'm a bi- curious regarding trans women.

And the stereotype I know about Thailand is that it have alot of ladyboys and sex industry is legal there, which is the complete opposite of what it is I'm my country.

So my question is ..does it make a bad guy to travel all the way to Thailand just to experience this for the first in my life, without being shamed , without being cancelled from my society.

I hope I'm not offending anyone

Phuket/Krabi/South Anyone got any experience with the following company? Or yacht. General advice on not getting scammed lol.

• Upvotes

Hey guys, looking to book a boat in Krabi/phuket for a large group.

The yacht looks great, but most of the reviews I can find are from 6+ years ago, so I'm a bit hesitant to put down a deposit.

Just wondering if anyone's heard of them or knows if they're still operating and reliable? Or any advice on booking boats.

Would appreciate any advice. Cheers!

Bangkok/Middle Ping Pong shows are bizarre but not a waste of money

Ping Pong shows costs a shit ton of money def but am I the only one who think they are still ok? Not because they are hot, there are not in any capacity but because it’s bizarre. It’s like theatrics kinda?

Like I have never seen a woman squirt a fish from his vajayay even in movies so like why wouldn’t I find it weird. I feel like people who go to thailand get excited about it too much and pay too much to see what exactly it’s about and always end up complaining. Like bro you know what you were signing up for, they tell you beforehand in the menu card sheet and it’s not an hot experience. It’s just a bizarre thing you get to talk about later. So it’s pretty annoying when people go to one and later complain about it being a waste of money. Like what did you expect really.

Bangkok/Middle Ayutthaya update?

I was thinking of visiting Ayutthaya from Bangkok but I am seeing conflicting reports. I know that there is flood letting in province to give relief to Bangkok. What about the city itself? Are the ruins still accessible?

Pattaya/Samet/Hua Hin International Driving Permit

I made a post about a month ago asking about driving in Thailand and I got my IDP in the mail today from the aaa website which is officially the only place to get it

Is this all I truly need as an Australian with full driver's license to legally drive over there? I'm abit confused as I thought the IDP would be like a plastic license or something but it's literally just like a small paper book without any Thai writting

Should I photocopy this or just keep it in a plastic sleeve to be safe?

Transport/Itineraries Ways to get from Bangkok to Khao Yai?

Hi :) My boyfriend and I are planning to spend 2 nights in Khao Yai in November. Private drivers seem to be around $460 CAD for 3 days, which is a lot more than we’d like to spend.

What other ways are there to get there from bangkok and then get around while there?

We’d like to visit Khao Yai National Park, flower fields and cafes but mostly relax in nature. Would renting a car be a better option, or are there other alternatives? If I bus/train to pak chong, are there private drivers available in that area to explore khao yai?

I understand you need a guide/driver for the national park but wondering about the nearby attractions.

Would love to hear what worked for others! Thanks!

Transport/Itineraries 16 nights in March ; advice for itinerary

Hi everyone!

I am planning a 16-night trip to Thailand in March 2027, and I’d love some feedback on my itinerary.

Here’s my current plan:
Bangkok: 3 nights
Koh Chang: 5 nights
Koh Mak: 2 nights
Koh Kood: 3 nights
Bangkok: 3 nights

I am wondering whether I should add one more night to Koh Kood and remove one from Bangkok, making it 4 nights in Koh Kood and 5 nights in Bangkok overall.

I love exploring, beautiful beaches, nature, good food and vibrant cities as well. I enjoy relaxing, but I don’t want to spend too many days doing nothing.
My main concerns are:
Are 3 nights (with 2 days there as the last day I will move to Bkk) enough to properly enjoy Koh Kood, or would 4 be noticeably better?
Are Koh Mak and Koh Kood different enough to justify spending 6 nights between them?

Would you change anything about the overall itinerary?

Thanks in advance!

Chiang Mai/North Rural areas in Thailand safe?

Hi all!

I'm leaving for Thailand in less than a week and I'm super excited! I'm hitting up Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and I've decided to tack on short stays in Chiang Dao and Mae Taeng.

Up until now, I haven't been too concerned about safety, especially not in the cities. For what it's worth, I'm not a party person and I don't drink. Aside from a night market or two and maybe a ladyboy show, I don't plan on being out at night.

However, I'm suddenly wondering about Chiang Dao and Mae Taeng. I booked them because I want to immerse myself in nature a little more, but should I be worried as a solo female? I'm more so concerned about chiang dao since Mae Taeng seems to have a lot of tourist excursions.

EDIT: fixed typo

Other Women from my country very rude to me after Thailand trip

I’ve never really been the type to struggle with women, so with that said I found that the Thai women were exceptionally friendly and flirty in a way I wasn’t used to. It was a pleasant surprise

Since I returned to the US I’ve gone on 2 dates with American women and in both it felt like I was being interviewed by HR at work. Very off-putting vibe, and at one point when I mentioned I had just returned from a vacation to Thailand it was as if I said I was a convicted killer the way her tone and demeanor instantly shifted. She became VERY suspicious of me, wanting to know exactly what I did and where I went. Maybe she thought I was some sexpat, regardless I felt quite annoyed at her for her obvious prejudice and it goes without saying there was not a second date.

Is Thailand for men like a pandora’s box in regard to dating? Do all American women have this attitude towards the country?

Edit: I never went to pattaya or nana. I’m 6’2, white, and lean. I consider myself fairly conventionally attractive

Bangkok/Middle Is Bangkok the right choice?

I’m considering either Bangkok or Hanoi to spend 6 days.

Hi! I’m a 23 y/o F from the States. I’m flying in to Hong Kong on Dec 5th, flying out on the 14th and have my hotel there booked (checking out Dec 8th.) I’m wanting to check out either Thailand or Vietnam because I’ve been looking into Visas for longer term stays DTV (digital nomad, education, Thai culture related activities) as well as education visas for both countries.

Both countries/cities have a lot of pros and cons to the point where it seems like an impossible choice.

Cons:

My fear with Hanoi is that I will get bored being there for ≈ 6 days, if I go with Vietnam I’d want to side trip to Sa Pa (is it too foggy and cold for this time of year?) and also Ha Long Bay (will it just be drunk western tourists? will it be awkward on my own?).

My issue with Thailand is it’s hotter than Vietnam and lots of sex tourists 💀 One thing I love about travelling is not only meeting locals but connecting with people from all over the world and don’t rlly wanna be around sleazy men.

Pros:

Vietnam: cheaper, more varied/temperate climate , less sex tourism , less about partying, feels less globalized (in a good way)

Thailand: more tourist infrastructure, more to do and see in Bangkok and surrounding area, better shopping (including malls, local markets, etc.)

The reason I lean slightly more towards Thailand are the excellent Visa pathways, Visa free tourist travel, and more developed infrastructure.

Additionally what day trip or over night / couple of night trips could anyone recommend from Bangkok?

Other Looking to nomad in Thailand for 6 months to a year

My top option right now is west koh pha ngan, specifically the wok tum area. I’m looking to get a visa by training martial arts, i basically want my day to day to be training gym, martial arts, studying for my masters and working on my online business.

I was also heavily considering Rawai but ive seen some bad ‘reviews’.

I want someplace nice by the beach, not too expensive with a large long-term international crowd (don’t mind short term tourists as long as i can meet people long term as well).
Safe area is a must, legal weed is a bonus and i feel like once in a while ill be able to go and enjoy nightlife.

How does the wok tum area sound?

Transport/Itineraries 7 days in Thailand in February - looking for advice

Hey everyone! I'll be travelling through Thailand in late February and would love feedback on my plans.

My rough split is Bangkok (3 nights), Khao Sok (1 night on Cheow Lan Lake) and Phuket (3 nights).

I'm hoping to combine temples, history, street food, nightlife, nature, beaches and Muay Thai. In Khao Sok, I'd particularly like to stay in a floating raft house and do some kayaking and wildlife activities.

Does this itinerary make sense, or is it too rushed? Is one night on the lake enough, and would you recommend anything extra, like any other places to visit, or certain attractions, or even food recommendations?

I'd also appreciate advice on transport, tours and anything you'd prioritise or skip.

Thanks!
