Should i get it?
Runs and drives great, me and my partner test drove it and its wonderful and fun. Although there is a quiet squeaking consistent noise when its on. We have no car rn, but can take a 500-800 dollar repair cost if necessary. Our research say this car has at least another 100,000 miles to it. Its been very well maintained. We love this car, we just wanna know if its a good idea.

Toyota Recalls Certain MY2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles - Toyota USA Newsroom
pressroom.toyota.comGood thing I have to drive this on a highway to get to the dealership am I right
Toyota Connect Limitations?
Am I missing something or is the Toyota Connect as lame as it appears based on my experience? First of all, I love my '22 Tundra CrewMax Limited TRD that replaced my '07 Tundra that I owned as my primary vehicle for eighteen (18) years. My wife has a 2019 Volvo, which is our first car with remote capability. We don't use it often but its performance is what I would have expected.
Not the case with my Tundra. Am I to believe if you remote start the vehicle and subsequently choose to turn it off, this cannot be done? Pressing and holding the "On/Off" icon responds with the same "starting vehicle" message when starting. Note, the selected icon is for both on and off function! Of course there is also the ridiculously long delay before that indication goes away, after which there is no indication of anything! Simply back to the screen as if nothing happened!
Same response for turning on the hazards. Appears to be no way to turn them off remotely!
If this is by design, then there must be a group of designers shaking their head that they know these limitations exist but must defer to the company's legal department that has the final say over what can and cannot be implemented. If this limited functionality is not intentional, then I would find this level of ineptitude to be overwhelmingly staggering.
Proace CITY - 0.208 litres per 1,000 km
I own a 2021 Toyota Proace City Verso Family 1.2 petrol (130 hp). The engine oil was changed on 18 March 2026 at 61,680 km, but the problem reappeared after approximately 5,000 km. In its official response to my complaint, Toyota stated that the measured oil consumption was 0.208 litres per 1,000 km, which it considers normal. That works out to around 2.08 litres per 10,000 km, or 4.16 litres over the recommended 20,000 km service interval.
Toyota says it inspected the timing belt, turbocharger and lubrication system, including the oil sump, and used an endoscopic camera to inspect the cylinders, finding no damage. However, it did not specify the manufacturer’s technical limit that makes this oil consumption acceptable or provide detailed findings on the condition of the timing belt.
Stellantis has officially acknowledged excessive oil consumption and premature timing belt degradation in certain generations of its 1.2 PureTech engines. I’m trying to establish whether the engine in my Toyota belongs to the same engine family and whether any known issues could explain my situation.
I’d appreciate feedback from owners of similar Toyota Proace City, Peugeot Rifter and Citroën Berlingo models. Is this level of oil consumption genuinely considered normal, and what has your experience been with timing belt degradation?

Toyota Hyryder S Strong Hybrid for Family – Suggestions?
Hi everyone! I’m planning to buy the Toyota Hyryder S Hybrid for my family and would appreciate your suggestions.
Is the S variant worth buying?
How are the real-world mileage, rear-seat comfort and boot space?
Are there any important missing features or drawbacks?
Is it good for long-term ownership, and should I buy now or wait for the facelift?
My priorities are family comfort, safety, mileage and reliability.
Would you recommend it, or are there better alternatives in the same budget?

Anyone else concerned about the 2026 Land Cruiser fire-risk recall with NO remedy available?
Is anyone else seriously concerned about the active safety recall involving a potential fuel leak into the engine compartment, posing a fire risk, for which Toyota currently has no remedy?
I purchased my 2026 Land Cruiser brand new just a few months ago. It has barely 5,000 miles on it. I searched my VIN and confirmed that my vehicle is affected.
I’ve contacted both my dealership and Toyota Corporate, who informed me that if there’s no evidence of an active fuel leak, the vehicle is considered safe to drive. However, an inspection showing no active leak does absolutely nothing to rule out the possibility of a future leak.
I was advised that if I smell gasoline, I should pull over, turn off the engine, move away from the vehicle, and call roadside assistance.
Even more concerning, Toyota could not confirm whether my vehicle would provide any dashboard warning or electronic alert if a fuel leak were to occur. So, as far as I’ve been told, I’m expected to rely on my own senses to detect a potentially dangerous situation and protect myself and my family.
I’m sorry, but surely Toyota isn’t suggesting that I rely on my own sense of smell as the primary means of detecting a potentially dangerous fuel leak in my BRAND NEW vehicle?
Am I essentially driving around in a potential fire hazard, expected to act like some kind of bomb-sniffing dog to protect myself and my family from a potentially catastrophic situation?
This is my family’s only vehicle, and I have a toddler who regularly rides in it. I’m not comfortable simply accepting that I should continue driving until I smell gasoline, especially when there’s no repair available and no clear timeline for one.
I’ve escalated my concerns to Toyota Corporate and requested temporary transportation assistance while a remedy is being developed.
Is anyone else raising concerns about this? Has anyone successfully pursued assistance under Toyota’s new vehicle warranty, explored their consumer protection rights, or convinced Toyota to provide a loaner or rental while waiting for a remedy?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing how other owners are handling this. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Update: A win for affected Land Cruiser owners!
After escalating my concerns regarding the safety of my vehicle due to the active recall, my dealership has agreed to provide a completely complimentary loaner vehicle until a remedy is available and the recall repair has been completed.
For other owners navigating this recall, I strongly encourage you to advocate for yourself and inquire about available transportation assistance through your dealership.

Finally upgrading from my 2015 Corolla but I’m nervous
I bought my 2015 Corolla brand new back when I was pregnant with my first son. It was the first new car I had ever purchased. It’s been our only car, and now has 230,000 miles on it, and we are looking to add another car for our needs.
We’re currently looking at both the Grand Highlander hybrid and the Highlander hybrid. (I haven’t test driven any of these yet. I’m still in the gathering information phase.).
I’m really nervous to make a large purchase like this, because I have been saving for quite a while and I don’t want to make a big mistake.
I saw the Grand Highlander had a few recalls on it… should I avoid it entirely? Does it make it less-safe than the Highlander Hybrid?
I was also going to take a look at the 2026 RAV4, but I’ve heard a lot of people are not happy with the redesign. Should I add the RAV4 to my list, too?
Thanks all for the help :)

Need help reinstalling drive shaft
Working on a 2000 Toyota echo in australia. I had to remove the drive shaft for something else and I’m reinstalling now. When I removed the driveshaft I peeled the boot back and used a slide hammer, but a ton of grease ended up falling out the shell at the end and boot. I’m planning to degrease the tripod and shell, then degrease them and use the old clamp again. is this okay practice? Also the retaining clip at the end is slightly deformed, is it okay if I reuse that too? Is it worth getting a new one?
Btw in the photo the boots are back on, as a mechanic did that for me, but he never regreased it and I think that them missing a substantial amount of grease is risky.
Thanks

Serpentine/alternator belt change Yaris 2017
Hey all,
I have a 1.33 manual 2017 Yaris with air con in the UK and was wondering how easy it is to change the serpentine belt? It's over 60000 miles now on the original belt and I don't want it to snap so I'm thinking of replacing it. What are the steps to changing it? Youtube doesn't have a video of this particular model, mainly shows vids of Yaris from America/Asia. Also is it 4pk 1165 or 4pk 1170?
Thanks

What do I need for a permanent charge location in my house's garage?
We just bought a (brand spanking new 2026) Prius Plug-in Hybrid and am running 240v from the fuse box to the garage. I envision having a cable hanging from the wall that my spouse can pull off the wall and plug in the car to charge overnight. I can't really use the cable system that came with the car since it needs to stay in the car for when we only have access to 120v. (Kids live in three different states.)
Are there charging systems I can buy to hook up to a 240v feed and hardwire it into the garage wall? Any recommendations?
Have i made it?

Toyota dealer quoted my mom $9k+ to fix a bump noise in the front end. Private garage near me $450 for new front struts. All good.
My mom 82 years old went to her Toyota dealer she has been going for over 10 years to fix her a rattle noise in the front end of her 2007 rx350. She got a quote for close to $10k with tax.
I got suspicious and went to an independent garage and he said the struts were shaking and needed replacing. After $450 and new struts the car drives perfect again. He said all other suspension parts looked fine including the steering rack. Unbelievable!

urgent help please!!
Hey everyone, I’m in a really sticky situation right now.
My brand-new 2026 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which I bought just two days ago, was hit from both the front and the back about two hours ago while it was parked. The person who hit it was a girl who apparently doesn’t have a driving license.
It’s now 3 AM, and I’ve just gotten home. The hood is completely bent out of shape, so I can’t close it properly. The problem is that my dashboard won’t turn off, even after locking the car, because the car keeps detecting that the hood is open.
I pressed the POWER button, and the READY indicator disappeared, but the car is still showing ACCESSORY mode. I’ve tried pressing the POWER button again, but nothing changes.
I can’t reach any support at this hour, and I’m worried that leaving the dashboard and screen on all night will drain the 12V battery.
Has anyone experienced this with a Corolla Hybrid? Is there a way to completely turn off the car without closing the hood or disconnecting the battery?
I’d really appreciate any help. I’m exhausted and just want to make sure I don’t wake up to a dead battery on top of everything else...

Need advice
Hi everyone! This is my first time buying winter tires, and I have no prior experience, I’d really appreciate some advice.
I drive an Corolla Cross LE AWD vehicle. I’m wondering whether you’d recommend buying winter tires from Costco or Toyota. Are there any pros and cons to either option?
Also , since I live in Toronto, would you recommend getting rust protection for my vehicle? If so, what type of rust protection is best?

Planning to say goodbye to my incredible 2002 Toyota Highlander :(
I just found out that I will have to end up giving away my very first car that I’ve had since 2002 Toyota Highlander because of all the extensive repairs it needs. It has over 280,000 on it and with all the repairs it needs I decided that I will have to part ways with it. I love that car so much and I am so sad and will miss it so much. I was driven in it as a child and drove it all throughout high school and college with my friends and everyone. I have so many memories in that car and it was so reliable and such a beautiful vehicle and was always there for me. It got me to where I needed to get to and it is truly my favorite car ever. I cried for a long time yesterday because it has been such a great car.

Would you pick GR86 or GR Yaris/Corolla as toy fun instrument?
Hello everybody, wondering what’s your opinion on these.
For now, the prices for default toy cars like M2 went above 100k which is crazy and even more - funny
So these are the options we have for now for a fair price, what ya think, it is better to get 2.4 boxer or 1.6 rally turbo?

26 Tundra Platinum vs 26 4Runner LIMITED
Hoping to get some advice as I look to join the Toyota family. My lease on an Audi SQ5 is up, and I’m moving away from the brand. This was my first SUV, after a run of sedans. I’ve narrowed my search down to a 26’Tundra Platinum vs 26 Limited 4Runner. Plan to lease again, through brokers the Tundra is actually $25 less a month. Off-road / sport premium are equal cost.
Remote worker, so minimal actual commute, would be using for MTN bikes, golf trips, kayaking, some home projects, dump runs, etc. likely not towing anything at the moment or within next 3 years. I have two larger dogs, they just fit in the back of the Audi via hammock, tried them in a Tacoma and it was really tight.
Slight edge to tundra on looks for me, just worry about driving a full size pick up. I’m sure I’d adjust. 4Runner also looks great, think checks most boxes in a smaller package. I worry about comments on smaller back seat but for my use case is fine 90%
Any thoughts / advice welcome.
TLDR: help deciding on 26 Tundra vs 4R, active house, with needs bigger than SQ5

IS my 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE still reliable?
***I need to go visit family 300 miles away for visiting family member in hospice.*** I bought 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE from 1 owner with all documentation 6 years ago at approx. 161,000 miles. They were selling it because they had just bought a new Sienna and they didn't need 2 vans. This has been a great van, but it now has 272,000 miles.
Since August, I have had to replace battery, something is going on with the muffler and it now roars from the back when I turn it on and hit the gas, radiator busted and replaced the radiator, coolant, and a lot of the transmission fluid was added, now groans when someone gets in the front and when you turn right, and the steering wheel does wobble/shake a small amount when driving, usually lower than 50 mph. What is going on? I had the tires balanced last month with a fresh oil change. The previous owner and myself have always had oil changes (full synthetic) at 5,000 miles. Throughout the years I have replaced all brake pads and rotors, 1 rear wheel bearing, and struts.
The 2 front tires are 3 years old, the back 2 are almost a year old and all Michelin from Costco. Costco says they will not rotate my tires because the tires are different ages. I have 3 kids and need to get them to preschool, gymnastics, piano, church activities, and classes.
For some reason I am almost terrified to drive this car thinking it will collapse at any moment on the highway/interstate and I will get in a wreck. Does anyone have any thoughts or any Siennas with this high of mileage? We buy cash and drive until the wheels fall off and I am just wondering what that means exactly, or how much money to put into this car. I come from a family where the brand new Toyotas were traded in at 100,000 miles because my parents thought they weren't safe anymore.
Also, what car should I consider next? All the Siennas I've looked at on marketplace/cargurus are much more than the cash I have saved. I am thinking no more than $7,000 range because I live on gravel and that just eats up the cars. I will only consider Toyotas, but I may only be able to afford Camry on that budget. Is a 2005 Camry v6 with timing belt ok to buy? Should I stick to only timing chains? I have been researching Scotty Kilmer and Car Wizard to the extreme!

Is Toyota Service #3 worth $320 CAD for my 2024 Corolla Hybrid?
I have a 2024 Toyota Corolla SE Hybrid with around 32,000 km. Toyota quoted me $320 CAD, including tax, for Service #3.
Looking at Toyota’s maintenance checklist, the service includes:
Engine oil change
Tire rotation
Brake inspection and measurements
Cabin and engine air filter inspections (not replacements)
Various fluid leak, battery, steering, suspension and exhaust inspections
Since they aren’t replacing the air filters, I’m wondering whether $320 is worth paying at the dealership or if I should take it to an independent mechanic.
For anyone familiar with Toyota maintenance, is this price reasonable? Is there any real advantage to getting Service #3 done at Toyota, or can an independent shop perform the same work for less without compromising maintenance quality?
Would appreciate your advice and experiences. Thanks!
