Closest I've ever been to feeling like Jeff Bezos

Shout out Christine!

She was so happy to see me, thanked me profusely, and even fist bumped me as I was leaving. I was a bit confused but I was grinning like an idiot as I was driving away, partly because of her reaction and partly because I thought I made like $9.82 for that short drive. An hour later my jaw was on the floor. Christine is the GOAT!

NOBODY IS STEALING YOUR ORDERS!

Nobody is stealing your orders. Uber is double booking them.

My first pickup was at Mimi's cafe. I waited 10 minutes and during that wait, another gentleman came in for the same exact order.

We compared screens with each other and everything was a carbon copy of each other, including the order number

I still took it since I was there first.

This is why I love the weekends. You can find a solid order even on trip radar lmao

No pause button is f^*%ing horrible

I’m trying to scan someone’s ID and the app kept getting a new order so it would kick me back many times . I cannot even scan someone’s ID because I can’t put it on pause until after scanning the ID- kept kicking me back, now Uber said I have to return the order.
I hate you, Dara you piece of shit making this a below poverty wage job and taking away the pause button so I can’t even do the job!

When I have a bunch of groceries, I wanna put it on pause
When I have my hands full with food, I wanna put it on pause
When I’m in a dangerous driving situation, I need to concentrate on the road. I wanna put it on pause.

When I’m done with orders for the night and I don’t want any anymore I wanna put it on pause until the last order

Dara has took that away from us and I hate him for doing that. - Enjoy your multi hundred million dollar retirement , paid days off ,401(k) and extremely wealthy pay- the rest of us have no PTO no retirement no free food or anything and barely a livable wage. This is a shitty ass company if 99.99 percent of the people who work for it don’t get benefits, PTO or a decent retirement.

El Paso, TX market sucks. I wish I lived in a bigger city.

I see all these people making $1k plus on the bigger cities. I get that it’s a smaller city but man it’s almost impossible to clear $800 a week if you do 40 hours. If you’re from El Paso, how much are you pulling a week or daily? Also how many miles are you driving daily? Just curious. I try to stay on the $1 per mile at least (because anymore than that I would be waiting hours to receive) but I get really bad offers that I have to turn down and now my AR is close to going under 30% . I just cant for the love of god pick them up it’s a waste of time, gas, and milesb! Just curious, I would like to know how are other drivers in El Paso doing.

My Last Two Days of UberEats Being Effective (Southern California)

On October 19, UberEats begins its new system in my market (Southern California). I fully expect to be demoted out of gold because it doesn't make economic sense (gas prices) for me to take any delivery that is both under $10 and takes more than a half an hour... So my practice of declining those low dollar + long time orders is going to screw me over and tank my ranking.

Which means, if I understand correctly, that I will have to play the schedule slots lottery for the days that I am able to drive... Which was precisely the reason I stopped driving DoorDash.

SoCal folks who don't have electric / hybrid cars, how are you feeling..?

Discussion Seriously question from a non-driver/ubereater

Do you see your what you make before you accept the order and if, in theory, I wanted to tip you extra for extra speedy service, where do you see it and how much would you accept?

I live in an undesirable delivery location and I've been wondering if I tipped like $20 or something instead of the usual $10, would someone more likely be willing to accept the delivery.

Discussion Do you always use a hot bag?

I ask because the vast majority of other drivers I see picking up orders do not use a bag, and are just walking out with whatever the restaurants hands them.

Discussion Red Flags...

First off, it's McDonald's. Secondly, $36 for an 11.9 mile drive is amazing, but, it's McDonald's. If you look at the time, it's just after 4:00 a.m.. that means, McDonald's has already switched to breakfast and that customer likely has placed a dinner order before 4:00 a.m. which has been either stolen or the first driver arrived just after the breakfast menu began. McDonald's will not fulfill this food order.

Are there any other early morning drivers who see this garbage?

We routinely get this crap. Why does Uber even allow this crap? I’ve gotten these as exclusives too.

Anybody know any good Bluetooth car adapter?

• Upvotes

I won’t buy CarPlay. I’ll say this now. I’m looking for one that I can plug into the cigarette lighter, and get next to no static if possible. The one I have right now is almost dead and I’m looking for a good replacement, does anybody recommend any?

Question Uber map not tracking

So my boyfriend started ubering a few weeks ago after I did it for a month and enjoyed it, but now he's having a problem with the map; once he's in the navigation to either go to a pick up or a drop off, it won't auto track the location. So instead of the pov following the vehicle, he has to manually move the map to see where he has to go. It's not a huge problem for pick ups because he knows his way around our towns restaurants well, but it's downright dangerous for drop offs because he is otherwise not very directionally inclined. We tried clicking the button at the bottom right- which typically alternates it from viewing the whole trip to navigating, but it still won't track it.

I've never had this problem, but it's been glitched on his end for a few days now. I have an android and he has an iPhone, so I don't know if it's a glitch common with iOS? I scoured the Internet and couldn't find any solutions, or even anyone with the same problem.

Has anyone had this problem? Do you know how to fix it? Or even any idea what might be causing the problem? Thank you in advance!

Listen I get that you gotta find ways to weed people out but this is ridiculous. Improve your app & maps and maybe I'll score higher or my "Phone Handling"!

Oh do I "Accelerate too hard" trying to arrive b4 you offer me 6 new orders at the door step... 🙄😑

Question Why doesn't the app allow you to see the delivery instructions before pickup?

That's what I like about door dash, I can see the full address and instructions right away.

I can look at Google maps and choose the best route and see the house on street view before even heading to the restaurant.

What do you do if the delivery instructions are impossible or unreasonable and you've already picked up the order?

With DD you can just unassign because you haven't picked the order up yet.

Not Tryna throw shade or anything but how TF do y'all do this full time? Like literally never get ahead after expenses. The down time just sitting doing nothing, having to drive constantly all day everyday to survive. I started at dominos as a driver and do Uber eats a few hours a week now just when I'm bored. I make 30 an hour with half the miles I was driving for Uber. I literally feel bad for y'all now I really do recommend a pizza delivery job if you like driving u need to get out your comfort zone .. if you have a dominos you need to get on. Its 16 an hour plus 50 cents a mile and all tips . Today I made 170 in tips and mileage and 130 hourly in 8.5 hours so it's actually more than 30 sometimes 40 to 50 depending on tips..

These things are traveling all over the sidewalks delivering food to customers. They name the robots, this one is named “Twan”. If you’re waiting for a request and wondering why you’re not getting any requests, this might be why. I can’t believe Uber would do this to delivery drivers… well no, I can, haha
