All wifi networks I connect to have the sam issues of connecting without internet, I have installed all of the latest drivers, reinstalled windows, used legacy update to get all of the newest internet certificates, and yet the issue still persists.

My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E520 with a Intel WIFI Link 1000 BGN adapter, and the windows install is Windows 7 ultimate Service Pack 1 64-bit.

I bought this acer aspire one from a thrift store I actually got it for free because of the missing keys but anyway it says this and then I try to upgrade to a modern browser. I’ve also tried updating it but it keeps saying failed to update and it also won’t let me add the mcafee protection because it saying I’m not using internet when I’m fully connect to my internet. The last update it had was in 1/1/2011.

I have an unusual query.

Someone I know has an ancient computer running an IDE hard drive, and his USB ports are problematic, so I cannot install Windows 7 using a bootable USB stick. So I would like to put that IDE drive in an external enclosure and install Windows 7 onto it using my new Windows 11 laptop.

Thereafter, I would like to place that IDE drive inside his tower computer so that it boots and runs without errors. Is this even possible? If so, how do I do it?

System specs: It's a Compaq Evo 310DT running Windows Vista with a Pentium 4 CPU, a 40GB IDE hard drive, and I am not sure how much RAM he has.

running on a hp pavilion dv6755ee Intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz processor, every single solution I tried gave the same result, either a dll is missing or the same error code 0xc8000247, I tried the manual service restart, didn't work, all solutions point to this one issue with the intel rapid storage driver but this system uses an intel matrix storage driver which I reinstalled and came back futile, then I tried the Intel driver assistant agent whatever which didn't install because it needed the visual c++ redistributable, I tried installing THAT and it also said it failed with error code 0xc8000247.

before all this I tried sfc scannow which just said it finished with a few errors, then I tried dism but it just got stuck at 65.5% for hours so I had to force restart. I also did clear out the softwaredistribution folder and all that did was just instead of showing the error message above started not even showing it and just doing nothing when clicked. please help it's driving me nuts 😭😭😭

An year back ago this problem started and i found out this might be an issue with the CMOD battery(correct me if i am wrong).

It wasn't a big deal cuz i have been using the internet time to updated it every time a start the pc but for a few days even this is not working and now i have to manually set date and time which is annoying to do every time.

What can i do to get rid of this problem without getting a new CMOD.

NOTE: in the image it is showing the synchronized date because i just set it manually otherwise it shows 01/01/2010 which is just the year before we bought the computer (yes it has been working properly for 2 decades)

I own a Windows 7 HP PC! No matter what I do, no matter how many youtube tutorials I follow through perfectly, none work. I have seen seven methods and none of them work.

I think the only other way to fix this glitch is a factory reset. But I may be wrong. I need help! I will show pictures below.

EDIT: I have tried restarting, going into the settings and disabling and enabling my wifi. I do not have a keybind to toggle wireless capability, and when I go to troubleshoot it, it will not resolve on it’s own.

I'm trying to port a C script I wrote to Windows. This script, among others, executes the C compiler. On Linux it's just fork()-execv(), and waitpid() retrieves the exit code.

But the Win32 API is so much more complex. Not only is the code three times longer than the equivalent Linux code, it doesn't even run.

I create and zero PROCESS_INFORMATION, STARTUPINFO (inconsistent naming btw), then CreateProcess(argv[0], argv, NULL, NULL, FALSE, 0, NULL, NULL, &si, &pi); Then WaitForSingleObject(pi.hProcess, INFINITE);

Then there is a GetExitCodeProcess() call to retrieve the exit code, but it retrieves garbage data. I was wondering why, and it turned out the process didn't run at all.

The command passed to it is sound since I print it before calling it and running it manually works just fine.

Hello, everyone! I think that I had gotten a PC virus. These is my Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Home Premium last version that I got from Windows Update. I used to have Avria Antivirus on my PC which told me about some PC virus. After that, When I boot to Windows, It always go black screen and than go to the VAIO screen. Which is weird. I didn’t need to go to the screen before the VAIO screen before. Yestready ,when I login, I saw Microsoft Edge on my desktop.Also, Avira tries to update which failed. I tried to install Windows 10 on this PC ,but I canceled it I when it was trying to install and didn’t wait for the iso to clean. Is this why?

My office is upgrading all of their old Window 7 Professional PCs to at least modern century versions. I just have a laptop at home so my manager offered one of the old PCs so I could use at home for personal use (everything would be going to e-waste anyways). Nothing was wiped in office though. I know the profile password to get on the main screen and whatnot but everything I’ve tried to reset, erase and wipe the computer hasn’t worked. I don’t believe there’s a BIOS password and when I try the F8 trick when first turning on, “Repair My Computer“ isn’t an option. I read this meant I need to get a restore disc. But before I do that, I just want to make sure I’m 1) not completely wasting my time all together and 2) not missing something worth trying first (I’m moderately-ish tech savvy, but clearly not enough). I have an old laptop running windows 7, it feels really old so i wanted to upgrade to windows 10 but it definitely cannot run that.
I wanted to try tiny10 but i don’t want to download it just for the laptop to feel sluggish and slow so here are the specs

Intel core i5 1st gen
(I tried running it on a newer laptop using virtualbox by giving 2GB free RAM and 2 CPU and it felt jittery but I didn’t know if that’s due to the OS or the virtualbox)

contextual laptop specs: Hp g6 pavilion 1138se. 4Gb of ram. Intel 3000hd graphic card with Amd AMD Radeon HD 6470M. And finally intel i3-core.

NOW. I have been running linux for a quite a bit. but shit it's not doing well with my portable games. so I am planning on dual booting with a windows version that will provide better support for my graphic card.
I am trying to get something like windows 7 or windows 8.1. My whole goal is to play games like cs 1.6 online. that's it.

I found online something like tiny 7 and tiny 8.1. and some compressed versions. is that safe? do you know any safe repatuable light version? and by chance is there an expert that can suggest maybe an alternative solution/OS for me?

I run Windows 7 Pro. I have MS Office XP/10 installed. I use Word as my workhorse word processor. I can not for the life of me get that thing to NOT save a list of opened documents. No matter what I try and I’ve tried everything I can find on the internet to do this within Word, no matter what I try I can not get those settings to stay put. They always revert back to their defaults. Is there a way through 7s regedit to accomplish this goal? Any ideas of my next step(s)? Or am I stuck with lists to delete?

so basically i have a windows 7 home premium laptop and recently removed the OEM os and upgraded to 64 bit windows i got audio drivers from lenovo but for some reason every single driver installer uses the same intel setup.exe that sends this error message and i cant even use .inf files in device manager because it throws ANOTHER error on EVERY SINGLE .INF I FIND and the default microsoft generic driver cant even run minecraft heres some screenshots as well as my OS information, i use integrated graphics

I am sick of this , i never came across this problem before my life. Any disk i install to any sort of my devices (thinkpad t60 lenovo n200 thinkpad e420) and make a booable usb win7 and win 10 with mbr, it will not see the drive no metter what i do. But linux installs fine, like wth dude, this is ridiculus. i tried to change partition table via gparted, the cmd in windows instalition but with absulute no luck. what can it be? i also tried to delete all partitions like 100 times. but if the disk has windows thats bootable, then it will boot but again not show up on the installer? sory for my bad pronounsation and grammar errors, English is not my main language.and also a extra note, the usb and the iso that i used it to make the bootable usb was working for the last year and one is even for 4 last years so what happed was happend in the last week after i installed endavour os?

UPDATE: i used another pc to create usb image and that worked like a charm and i no longer have this issue. But now the problem is my own pc is not creating any working windows bootable usb? i am actively trying to solve it.

I just got a windows 7 computer and every time I try to connect to my wireless WiFi router the whole thing blue screens. Is this anything that can be fixed or will this just always not work on this certain firmware? The wireless chip card thing is a Ralink 802.11n wireless LAN card. The picture is what pops up when I reboot after the crash.
