Forget where I saw it, but someone put forth a theory it's to discourage business travelers from sharing rooms

It would suck for a traveling family, though. The parents would be fine seeing each other, nothing they haven't seen before, but with kids there would be some serious issues.

It's not a matter of allowed, it's a matter of comfort. Not everybody wants to see their parents naked, especially by their teenage years.

I wasn’t allowed to see my parents naked once I was older than toddler age. Id get in trouble if i accidentally saw anything
