And this is how I met my dragon boyfriend !
97
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
Or Girlfriend
69
u/Saaslil Azymondias Jul 23 '26
Depends of your attractions, I feel attracted towards male dragons personnaly
22
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
I'm straight, so my preferences are obvious
18
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
No, because I don't know which of the two gender/sexs that compose a standard heterosexual relationship you are.
0
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
Did you not hear me say girlfriend as my first answer that conflicts with the first comment's tastes? I feel that's a solid clue
1
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
A clue, but it doesn't tell me for sure. Especially since you where replying to somebody calling it a boyfriend, it was fairly likely you where just pointing out another possibility, although yeah I did see it and if I had to have guessed I would say you're a heterosexual man based on that.
Nonetheless, even now you have technically failed to specify, and I'm proud of being one technical and pedantic nitpicker of a person.
1
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
I'm male and I like women. There's your answer, Poindexter
-8
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
Dude I had to look up the definition of Poindexter to see if it was even an actual word/name... are you sure you're not one yourself? That seems to be pretty niche vocabulary, or, as my family of origin likes to call fancy or obscure words (especially very specific or precise ones) "a five dollar word".
-3
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
Still wouldn't call myself as much of a specified nerd as you, especially with how much you have to keep drawing from specifics even after I gave you my answer

Boyfriend; that knight seems a lot more femenine that the dragon

u/Saaslil Azymondias Jul 23 '26
How can you guess of one's gender behind a full plate armor that shows nothing ?
-2
4
u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 23 '26
Are you sure? I don't really see it with the armor too much. Maybe it's just very slim

That would be funny if "I know" (and "stay") is the only thing the dragon knows in English

This is really good... I really love how you drew the dragon btw, the scale details are amazing and I love that realistic style.
Also, like... the hands being pressed together with only the word "stay" is super strong both visually but also emotionally. Really good comic, this is seriously great!

I've seen this meme so many times, but I don't think I've ever actually seen the clip, just a still. Why is his voice so insanely deep and masculine, he doesn't look like the kind of person who'd have that voice at all.

PLEASE tell me you've made more of these, I NEED this dragon X knight yaoi
-3
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
Who says it's yaoi? With dragon biology and society completely unknown, we have no way of determining if it's a man, woman, male, female or something that doesn't the gender and sex binary. Similarly, we have no way of knowing what's under that armor so the knight could be any gender and sex you imagine.
7
u/Mister_Nobody76 Jul 23 '26
I think it's yaoi because I want to be the knight here, simple as that
0
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
And I'm fine with interpreting it as gay, I just wanted to be sure that you had picked up on what other people where discussing with how it's ambiguous and has no one interpretation, so everyone can make their own.
3
u/Mister_Nobody76 Jul 23 '26
Yeah of course, I mostly meant it as me just wanting more of this comic in general
14
u/Epipany Jul 23 '26
Nice. I like that the dragon keep acting as a dragon, without having to change it to a "good dragon" I mean... Shrek the green ogre from Dreamworks acted at first quite like a dragon and look how he ended; how that with just saying the same barely two words you can feel how he is in internal conflict.
Also, this dragón reminds me that famous scene of Han Solo "I love you" and instead of reply with a "Me too" he said "I know" 😆 Too cool and macho for "me too" xD

Well fine then, chill, why was I getting downvotes? Like genuinely, I have to ask what was unfunny about that because I thought it was amusing but for some reason I'm getting hate for it? What's that about?
1
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 24 '26
Just look in a mirror, and see what your comments be saying.

Oh yeah, I suppose that is hypocritical of me. I genuinely hadn't thought about it that way, sorry!

I know that it's probably left to interpretation, but I can't help but think of the Dragon as being feminine, because I LOVE the idea of a powerful and strong motherly Dragon too!!! <3 That's just what I think, though. :3

This one makes me sad. I don’t know why. I just really want to hold someone like the dragon is holding that knight.
2
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
Sorry it really bothers me when things are size inconsistent and... if you pay any attention to the 1st, 2ond and 4th pages it's really obvious see that the dragon starts at a medium size in page 1 to hug the night, than gets way bigger in page 2 such as to be able to easily fit them in one bite, and then way smaller than in any of the prior pages in page 4 to make their hands more comparable sizes.

u/Drakorai Thylokian Draki. Jul 24 '26
That’s certainly one way to acquire a lifemate. I take it that that they didn’t exactly do a typical courtship duel?
1
u/West-Construction466 Jul 23 '26
They’d need to take me dead, or tied up, kicking and howling to make me leave.

I prefer to give belly rubs than mate with one.
1
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
...okay? Nobody said anything about mating, so that's all you.
1
u/nightsorter Jul 23 '26
They’re in bed together, so it’s implied, at best.
1
u/Connect-Journalist81 Jul 23 '26
A bit I suppose (although technically no beds are in sight the entire comic). However we don't even actually know if they are going to bed/waking up. All we see is that the dragon is cuddling them, which could be completely platonic and normal. Now, the way this written does imply that they're romantic, but if you mean "mate" as in intercourse, it seems unlikely to me both because of how the knight is fully armored and size difference making it challenging.
