Oof, that’s heavy. The art is great, even though the subject matter is grim😭

Thank you. It is incredibly prevalent right now, and not just because of the headlines. Too many people forget that most people they know have had multiple experiences. We must not be afraid to confront them and confront the new generation. To teach boys and girls consent, that’s it’s not always “stranger danger,” but someone you know, and that being a bystander who does nothing is just as bad as being the perpetrator. It’s not enough to not be a rapist. You must be a decent human being who would never allow it to happen in the first place. We must hold our friends accountable.

It was never your fault. Thank you for being here.

Thank you for making a piece that proves that. It's taken a long time to accept what happened and start healing.

I was 7, I was 15, I was 16 and I was 29. Now I'm a mother of a girl (2kids total), thanks for the awareness, although I feel like this subject needs a trigger warning. It's something we carry around for the rest of our life, but some days are better. Today I made it till 14:50 without thinking of it (which is right now)

I’m so proud of you for being here. Your girls will be so proud to learn of the resilience their mother showed every day.
I edited the body to add a trigger warning, thank you for pointing it out.

Thank you, I'm raising a boy (9y) and a girl (7months) - I've always wanted to be a mom, I didn't want a daughter; but I wanted a daughter too if that makes sense. We live in a cruel world. My job is to raise a respectful boy and to raise a girl that knows how to stay safe.. I don't want to raise them differently but I have to, already starts now with keeping them off the internet. I hope there will be a time for girls to roam around without getting traumatized..

It must be difficult bringing children into this world knowing the evil that exists. We must do our best to protect this generation, but also to remind them that we will be their safe space in times of need. To never be afraid to speak up and get help.
And remember, it happens to our boys too. Sexual assault knows no boundaries. It knows no age or race, no gender or clothes.
I wish we could stop this pain, but all we can do is try our best to keep moving forward and create a safe and loving environment for the next generation. But, also calling out the despicable behavior that allows this culture to keep existing in the first place.

I was 1-6. Then I was 13. Then I was 17-18 (partner). Then I was 21 (partner). The last I was 22.
And those are the ones turned physical, from groping to full on SA.
They don’t count the guy trying to (verbally) “encourage” me to take his virginity, who instead asked if he could jizz on my floor with me watching as a way of “giving it to me without giving it to me”. Or partners fully willing to pressure me into sex knowing my history and that I didn’t want to (two above did by force). Or the guy sniffing my hair and rubbing his thigh against mine on the bus. Or the guy making lewd detailed comments on my body one night I had drinks with friends in a bar. I dressed down so my assets wouldn’t be on show.
Just to mention a few. I could probably write a book about just my encounters with being an unwilling object of desire and the deep impact it’s had on me.
I don’t know a single woman who doesn’t have stories of their own. A lot of them due to partners, friends or being in a crowded spot where they couldn’t just leave. Ugh.
Triggering as it may be, it’s important. Art like this is important. Well done.

My home life sucked and I just left one night after work and my best friend helped me. So basically I just disappeared on my family. Anyway one day my BSF and I were going to do something and he was looking for me and went oh you disappeared. And I said yeah, I'm good at that just ask my parents.
Also my biological dad died when I was 7 and Ive got his ashes in a necklace so I held it out to my foster mom and went "I wanna introduce you to my dad" and she cracked up.
Anytime I tell people about my dead dad and they go oh no I'm sorry I'm gonna start replying with it's okay his corpse lives in a box on my shelf so he's never far.
Long story short I appreciate the humor.

I was 4.
Fuck I still remember being told, “It’s ok” while they pushed themselves onto me.
I turned to alcohol to numb myself in junior high. It’s been 350 days since my last drink. I’m not going to but I want to run and hide into a bottle and wish that nothing ever happened

I was 8-10. Memory is fuzzy. I liked power rangers at the time and always had a Red Ranger shirt on.
Then I was 15 when a kid at school became fixated and stalked me, sent me inappropriate photos, and we had to get the cops involved. I wore baggy band tees and cargo pants.
Was in my 20s when I was stalked again. I was wearing my Target work uniform when he got obsessed.
But it shouldn't matter, of course. Nobody deserves to be unsafe around their fellow humans. I should be able to walk around naked and be at peace.

I was 8-10 years old.. it was my cousin. And I wasn’t the first victim and I wasn’t the last.. his mom knew and sent him to a house full of children

I wore nothing. I was completely naked because I was in the shower. And I wore a Pyjama. And my work clothes. And cargo pants with a graphic tee. And a kitchen apron. And…

Exactly. It's NEVER been about what you're wearing. Men need to learn to control them damn selves.

Genuinely is the stupidest excuse I've ever heard man... it hurts knowing people think that way

Kind of a strawman- no logical person would say it was what you were wearing to a 3 year old thats not a valid legal defense adult or child
