Amazing Zac Bauermaster currently serves as principal of Providence Elementary School. He believes that school should be the place where kids want to be.

I've been on r/teachers reading about how some principals and admins like to be the ones to give students and parents a free pass for everything, letting them be the cool, fun person. Hope that's not what's happening here.

My daughter's school has a principal like this. He's fun, he cares about the students, knows all their names. He supports the staff and has their back. But when its time for discipline and the rules, he is strict and holds students and staff responsible for their actions.

One time I asked him how he does it and he said to me that "I'm not here to be liked. I'm here to make sure the students feel seen and feel safe. I'm here to make sure the staff can do their jobs without interference from me. I'm ok with not being liked by parents but i will always stand up for my staff."
