The “before you go…” popup that covers the last page of the book is absolutely obscene. You pay for a kindle, you pay for the book, you read the book, and it interrupts you mid-sentence at the worst possible moment. Lose your train of thought, go back to re-read the beginning of the sentence on the prior page? That awful advertising popup will return every time. Truly outrageous that there seems to be no way to get to rid of it.
To be clear, I’m not talking about a popup coming after the acknowledgments etc. I’m talking about it covering the last page of the last chapter.
I can’t believe I’m once again finishing a brilliant book today but can’t enjoy or reflect on it properly because a monopoly is abusing their power to steal my attention in yet another way.
Edit to clarify: this is not a Kindle With Ads. I’m talking about the “before you go” popup that asks you to rate the book and recommends others. It doesn’t always cover the last page of the actual book, but this has now happened to me two books in a row. It’s not every book, so if you haven’t seen it, happy for you, but it is SOME books.
