not LC I made a website to access past papers & Project Briefs a lot easier (To replicate Examinations.ie)

I'm a 6th year stident just looking for feedback on the website, It's called easierexaminations.ie, It can look up all the past papers going back to 2010, and I'm working on putting the AAC / Other project briefs in it as well. Currently I only have DCG & History I think.

Any feedback or other subjects you want me to add let me know!

not LC Getting an actual job with your degree these days

6th year here and people online have really started to create doubts for me. It’s like every humanities degree doesn’t even matter anymore because you won’t get a job out of it.
All i see online is the only way you’re making a steady life for yourself is if you do some sort of business or finance degree and that’s just personally not for me.
I love english and i want to study english and go on to do a MA in journalism and try get a job in journalism although i’ve heard it all about the unemployment rate for journalism.
even if i don’t succeed in journalism i want some sort of job with english that’s Not teaching but i feel like my degree will go to shit because that’s what so many people say….

Any thoughts on this??

English 📖 Marking a paragraph break?

Hi, this might be a silly question but any answer would be appreciated. Sometimes when I write English essays, I have a tendency to get too focused and accidentally write a whole page in one paragraph. Can I mark a paragraph break in the text for the examiner to see or do I just have to leave it as is? If yes, what do I do to mark it? Thanks for any help!

Other Languages 🇵🇱🇵🇸🇨🇳🇱🇹🇭🇷🇺🇦🇨🇿🇸🇰🇷🇺🇯🇵 Would it be realistic to pick up Arabic as a 9th subject and 4th language ? (6th year)

TL;DR: I'm a 6th year, Pretty bad at arabic but I know I can get better quick with some effort, would you recommend picking it up as a 9th subject?

I come from an arabic speaking county, and had a bit of formal education in arabic from ages 10-13, I would say I'm at A1-A2 level due to the amount of stuff I forgot but I recently found some Arabic workbooks from my time in Arabic school that will surely bring that up to an A2-B1, especially since my parents speak Arabic and my dad is exceptional at it so he can help me even when I just ask questions on the dinner table.
Problem is I'm aiming for 600+, and I'm already doing 8 subjects including English, Irish and French so Arabic will be a 4th language. I'm not planning on getting a H1 in Arabic or anything, but I was wondering if you guys think having a 9th subject would be a bit much? Obviously I know myself better than most but for decisions like this it's always best to consult the masses I feel, in case I end up realising it really won't be good for me.
So, if you were in my position, would you be considering picking it up? Why / why not?
Thanks a ton!

STRESS 🚨 Help me out here please!

The only reason im in HL maths is for that extra 25, im so bad at maths I havent passed a singular class test, I average 20%, I think that if I work hard enough from here I can manage that h6. Orrrr, because I am fluent in russian I can treat that as my “extra 25” and do OL maths and focus on my other subjects. Please let me know if this is a good idea.

6th year
Aiming for 480 points
I do HL everything except for Irish
And I want atleast a O3 if I drop.

STRESS 🚨 Stall the ball a while.

Hello everyone,

I’m a maths&PE teacher. I’m early 20s.
I still remember the stress.
I remember the discomfort of uncertainty about your future.
I remember doing ‘all goes well’ and ‘worst case scenario’ predictions.

Remember one thing. You have control over your future.

Can you be 1% better than yesterday? That’s the essence of success in your exams.

Your intelligence/capability has been reduced to a number out of 625 in contemporary Ireland. It is not a measure of who you are or what you can do. I would recommend researching Gardners Mulitple
intelligence. It illustrates intelligence can’t be confined to one’s ability to retain and regurgitate information or to follow an exam technique cheatsheet. You’re athletic? You have a strong level of kinetic intelligence. You can speak sensitively? You have strong interpersonal skills. Etc etc.

Don’t panic over an exam.

That’s my two cents

PLCs 📖 Maths minimum entry requirement question

So I did a business PLC this year, got 8 distinctions, but for 99.9999999% of courses I’m applying to need an O2 in maths. The unis I am applying to state that your award must be achieved in one sitting (one academic year) which I have done with my PLC. If I do my maths leaving cert in June 2027, am I still eligible to be considered for my courses using my PLC in September 2027? Because you know the way in the leaving cert you can repeat maths as it’s a minimum entry requirement and still get in if you get your maths grade and use your main LC results from a previous year, is it the same for a PLC? I’m aware that the LC results will come out after Round 0 which is when majority of PLC applicants are offered their level 6/7/8 course, so I’m not expecting that someone will drop out and I’ll get an offer in later round with my maths but you never know! Sorry I’m wording this a bit funny, but if anyone knows the answer to this or has been in the same boat themselves and can let me know I’d really appreciate it!

not LC Bad at parties

I probably sound like such a chud in this but I’m looking for any kinda help. Im a sixth year and I just really don’t know how to start a convo with a girl at a party or pub. All the advice online is so Americanised and it just sounds corny when you say it to someone in Ireland.

CAO 🎓 Tips on a good Portfolio for IADT?

Hey there! I'm currently working on a portfolio for IADT specifically for 2d animation, but I need tips on what IADT are actually looking for in a portfolio.

I know I need pieces, observational drawings and storyboards, but does anyone recommend I should get animation tests, do any specific observational drawings or anything like that?

I know many might suggest a PLC, but I have my heart set on college and I am willing to put my all into this portfolio- I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with how they grade portfolios and such.

HEAR/DARE 👉☝️ Hear dependant parents

Does anyone know if the part time spring board courses count as having a dependent parent. Just wondering bcs its for people out of work and almost all courses are part time so i was thinking it could be ok. It says in the form that some part time courses will qualify as long as its above level 5 and more than a microcredit or specific purpose qualification.
