Mass shootings in America is a everyday normal thing.

So are stabbings in the UK

And yet the UK doesn’t have a systemic problem similar to the US.

UK has a ban on guns and their stabbings are still less per capita than the US

And how many people die from the heat and cold again?

What idiotic argument are you trying to make?

We should be allowed to shoot the weather?

We do that in america too, ever seen a redneck during a tornado?

No I meant how because of how uk houses are built, their lack of AC, and the high cost of electricity they have way more heat and cold related deaths

Mate first it's climate change so good luck you'll be in the same boat soon. Second there a reason we've just leapfrogged Japan's economy and on track to jump over Germany's. Our only fuel that's high is natural gas which is wholesale price meaning if you look per KWh Britain has close to the cheapest energy in the G7 because we use renewables. On top of that we are building heat pumps and AC across the board.

Climate change would affect both equally and electricity is literally double the price in the UK so you'd still get hit harder

It's gonna take awhile with the AC since only 5% of housing have them

Climate change doesn't affect both equally due to geography and different parts of the planet experience differing warming, cooling and other affects like wind and rainfall. Example due to El Nino the pacific had far more hurricanes than the Atlantic in fact had basically one during the major hurricane season.

Dude we had negative price this year. It's literally just natural gas which is being phased out completely because you know the war your country started.

on 7 April 2026, UK wholesale prices ranged from −£58/MWh to £122/MWh within the same day. That's −5.8p to +12.2p per kWh. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/blog/wholesale-energy-costs-and-your-bills?utm_source=chatgpt.com

In 2025, British wholesale electricity prices were negative for 244.5 hours — more than 10 full days' worth of hours. The lowest half-hourly market-index price was −£99.01/MWh, or −9.90p/kWh.

"Your country hasn't solved every conceivable problem so it's fine to shoot children. Death is death. My next brilliant argument: you can die of cancer in the UK! Is your country so great now?" Brilliant job Bo Jimbo. Gold star. A plus. 👍

I kinda assumed you knew why the UK has such a high death rate to heat and cold compared to the US

Because housing in built for retention rather than ventilation, 95% of houses not having air-conditioning, and high electricity costs many more people die from temperature related problems than America despite these being problems with solutions

This is such strawman behavior

"We don't have mass shootings"

"What bout the stabbings?"

"The stabbings are still less than yours."

"Well What about the heatwaves?!"

No matter what they respond with, you're just going to move the goal post again.

There's a very minor person capita difference to begin with 0.5 to 0.4 out of 100k

1

u/Professional-Drag-52 4h ago

Do people genuinely not know that significantly more people die to heat and cold in the uk than in the us?

And its not because of a major difference in weather but because of housing and infrastructure

but that's literally not the point though

cold and heat are part of nature mate, guns aren't
