How do i either put off or jumpstart my period?

• Upvotes

I’m going on a trip (technically 2) at the end of this week and according to my app, which is usually always accurate, I’m scheduled to start my period on the 26th, which is when I leave one trip for the other. The second trip is when I’m going to see my long-distance boyfriend, and obviously we’re planning on doing stuff. How could I jumpstart or push back my period? I’m on birth control again and since I’ve restarted it, my period has been kind of weird, but it usually is.

53 - started bleeding again after 11 months and now 2 periods in a row

• Upvotes

Hi All, I'm 53, I had no bleeding for 11 months, then some light bleeding/spotting in June then nothing till September 9 when I started bleeding again and it lasted 3 weeks, then no bleeding at all until today. so there is 39 days between September 9 and today. My doctor told me in June that if I start bleeding regularly again to get it checked out, which I will do, but can someone tell me if this is normal in late perimenopause?

Hi! I just wanted to ask if what I'm experiencing right now is normal. I stopped taking birth control pills March this year. As you can see from the photos my cycle is so weird right now. I haven't bled this September and October. What do I do?

Hey, I thought this may be a good thread to share and ask for some opinions, Ive been freaking myself out and I won’t be getting a blood test for another few days. The last time I did the deed was in around end of June/beginning of July (around 14-20 weeks ago?), and I most definitely took a plan b since no other method of birth control was used. The thought of pregnancy did not cross my mind until last week. Starting mid august I started to feel sick and would throw up every few days, and got very tired, I assumed I was sick until it lasted for over a month. Mid September I got very sick (fever, headache, stuffy nose, constant vomiting, not being able to hold anything down) for nearly a week straight. Especially the last few weeks or so, I’ve been experiencing almost all the symptoms. Peeing all the time (no burning like a UTI), extreme bloating and cramping across my abdomen, not being able to eat or craving foods, vivid dreams, smelling the train and trash from a mile away, headaches, blurry vision, constipation/diarrhea/gas, irregular amounts of discharge, sweating easily, more fatigue, lower abdominal heaviness. My period is late. Im stupid and forget my birth control pill all the time so I’m not regular and quite literally do not remember my last period, once since, i had a little bleeding. The thing is, when I stop my birth control pill/forget to take it, I ALWAYS start bleeding the next day. I haven’t touched the pills in over a week and nothing, just more cramps and bloating (I want morning skinny back:/). Ive only ever had a “scare” when I was younger and this feels nothing like that. It’s almost a gut feeling that something bad is happening. Now, the part messing with me the most, I took two clearblue tests which were negative at first but a faint line appeared a few hours later on both. One was taken at night and my urine was diluted.. that one is the most faint, the morning urine is darker but faint. I know evaporation lines are a thing but I can’t ignore the gut feeling and absolute massive collection of symptoms im experiencing. Ive also been told later in pregnancy the hormone it tests for lowers, which would be my case as well. I have blood tests scheduled in two days, I have three exams in the same time frame and im going absolutely out of my mind. Im pro choice but cannot see myself getting an abortion, but I also am nowhere near ready to raise a child. Help

I am checking to see if this is relatable of any sort because idk what’s wrong with me when I’m on my period if I bleed even a lil bit on underwear or shorts and it can be like the tiniest spot and I can rinse it out in sink first it dosnt matter I put it to wash and dry I can still smell blood the smell is so strong to where it effects everything I’m wearing all from that lil speck of blood that was on there this has been happening for months being that I get dizzy and feel weird when I where tampons so I just where pads and that’s a bloody mess all the time I’m thinking of trying period underwear like adult diapers style because the smell is so bad I feel like something in me died I feel like this is not normal for period blood to smell that awful out of someone ?

Women, what do you wish existed to make your period easier?

Ladies, I have a question for you! 💗

I’m interested in women’s wellness, particularly menstrual health and period care, and I’d love to hear about your real-life experiences.

What’s something about your period that you find frustrating, inconvenient, uncomfortable or difficult to manage?

It could be anything, big or small.

  • Is there something you struggle with during your period?
  • Is there a product you use but wish worked better?
  • Have you ever thought, “Why hasn’t anyone invented something to solve this?”
  • Is there something you wish you had during your period that would make your life easier?
  • Are there any period-related products you’ve bought that disappointed you?

I’m especially interested in the little everyday problems that people don’t talk about much, but that could be made easier with a genuinely useful product.

It doesn’t have to be a problem you experience every month. It could be something you’ve struggled with just once but wish you’d had a better solution for.

I’d love to hear your honest thoughts. What would you change about the products available today, or what do you wish someone would create?

Thank you! 💕

5 days delayed but negative pt

My period is 5 days late, and I usually have a regular cycle. I took pregnancy tests on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th days of my missed period, all using first-morning urine, and all three results were negative. The 5th day of my missed period was also 20 days after I had unprotected sex, for which I took a Plan B pill afterward. However, I also had protected sex 3–4 days before my expected period. What could be causing my period to be delayed?

Bleeding 5 days

On Tuesday, October 13th, I began experiencing unexpected bright red vaginal bleeding, despite having finished my normal menstrual period approximately five days earlier. The bleeding initially occurred only when wiping but gradually progressed to requiring a pad. On Wednesday evening, I developed right-sided lower abdominal and pelvic pain that progressively worsened, particularly with movement and physical activity. On Thursday, October 15th, I was evaluated at urgent care and subsequently went to the emergency room due to worsening pain, continued bleeding, and the passage of blood clots. Emergency room bloodwork was largely normal, including my hemoglobin, and pregnancy testing was negative. A transvaginal ultrasound with Doppler ruled out ovarian torsion but identified a right ovarian cyst described as either a corpus luteum cyst or a hemorrhagic cyst. I received Toradol in the emergency room, which temporarily improved my pain, but the cause of the abnormal vaginal bleeding remained undetermined. Since being discharged, I have continued experiencing bright red vaginal bleeding with intermittent clots, some approximately nickel-sized to half the size of a quarter. My abdominal pain has gradually worsened, reaching approximately 6/10 in severity, and has spread from the right lower abdomen across my lower abdomen and into my back, accompanied by noticeable bloating. As of Saturday, October 17th, I am still experiencing ongoing vaginal bleeding, blood clots, and worsening abdominal discomfort despite the initial emergency room evaluation.

Is this normal?
