I just keep it in the refrigerator or freezer. Don’t use it fast enough and it gets mold on it. I hate wasting food but idk anywhere I can get like 6 slices of bread. So I usually take half out it in the fridge and freeze the rest

Same here. My bf swears it’s bad for the bread but I’ve eaten refrigerated bread for a couple months with no issues. If I don’t refrigerate it, I’d have to throw out half the loaf

Refrigeration dehumidifies the air, so it will dry out the bread faster, but its otherwise perfectly fine.

your bf is correct, the molicules of the bread phisically and chemiclally change, at a faster rate at refrigetator temps, in a process known as going stale

High humidity problems. Down here in the south, my bread molds in a couple days if it isn't stored in the fridge or frozen.

I'm in high humidity central. I'm in central Florida. My bread lasts for a couple weeks before getting mold or drying out. All kinds, major brand loaves of white or wheat, pita, tortillas, they all last a long while. I get that it's the preservatives they put in the bread but it's kind of nice that it lasts. I also make sure the bags are sealed tight and my home temp never gets over 78 degrees.

If I buy a loaf of bread half ends up the trash, figured out that if I make my own bread I eat it in a couple of days.

Glad I’m not the only one. I always keep mine in the fridge
