I've not aimed for high bracket here, but gone for a bit of fun, focused on my commander Sab-Sunen, Luxa Embodied, because she's such a queen. Money is tight right now so it's very low budget.

I've only played standard before, but my friends play commander and I wanna try it out without spending too much. So every card in this deck, besides my commander, I can find for under a dollar. My experience is mostly in mono-green landfall or Dimir graveyard recursion.

I'm worried I've gone too broad but I've tried to include strategies that counter graveyards, big creatures, and spellslinging just to cover all my bases. I think I've built a decent deck but would love some insight before I buy anything.

Any advice is totally welcome, but please keep in mind I'm trying to keep this deck cheap, or there's a lot of things I'd change about it. I'm also not particularly keen on any UB properties.

Also, would love to know where you'd place this, bracket wise. I'm thinking 2 but I may be overestimating my deck building haha.

PS I know Sapprazzan Cove is dogshit, but it amuses me, and with nesting grounds/proliferation it could actually be kinda fun

I'm thinking about buying Blood Crypt and Watery Grave again, and I'd love to hear your opinions!

For those of you who play with these lands, which set's artwork do you recommend?

I used to own Blood Crypt from Return to Ravnica and Watery Grave from Edge of Eternities, but I ended up selling both.

I recently came across a copy of Steam Vents from Guilds of Ravnica and picked it up again, which got me thinking about the other two lands!

Hey I had an idea while playing the witherbloom precon. I want to run a deck that tries to win with the Devour mechanic. I am trying to focus on token generation to have Fodder to feed to my devour boys. The commander itself is mostly a placeholder and isn't super integral to the plan, but can be helpful when I start sacrificing stuff. Technically my favorite card is [[Feed the Pack]], so I'm wanting to keep that mostly. Does anyone have any tips or advice on making improvements to this deck? At my LGS the other day an opponent casted a card that reveals the top 5 cards of his Library then an opponent (me) separates those into two piles he keeps one and the other goes into graveyard so I slide the cards around face up into two piles and everyone's acting like I don't know anything because he's not supposed to know the contents of the piles. I've never played a card like that in that way I assumed the picker got to know what was in the piles because the cards are revealed still. Please I want to know if I am wrong or right here.

TLDR do you get to know the contents of the individual piles if cards are revealed then separated into two piles by an opponent you keep one pile and the other goes in the graveyard.

tldr do I know what's in each pile individualy when fact or fiction is cast

At the moment me and my friends don't have laptops or PCs to use, and because of school we don't have time to play irl often. Any ideas? A lot of the other options I've seen are designed for PC use, so they're unbelievably inconvenient to use on mobile.

Hi everyone! I am brand new to Magic: The Gathering. I recently bought the Final Fantasy Starter Kit and the Foundations Beginner Box to learn how to play.

My goal is to upgrade BOTH of the 60-card Final Fantasy starter decks into 100-card decks. Right now, I don't want to spend any money on single cards or boosters. I want to build these decks using only what I already have in these two boxes.

I need your advice on exactly which cards to add from the Foundations packs to make these decks work well. Here is how I am splitting the pools: • Sephiroth Deck (Blue-Black / Dimir): Upgrading it using the Blue and Black packs from Foundations (Wizards, Pirates, Vampires, Undead). • Cloud Deck (Red-White / Boros): Upgrading it using the Red and White packs from Foundations (Cats, Angels, Goblins, etc.). Since I am a beginner, I would love to get your recommendations on these two approaches:

1. Casual Play (Kitchen Table): If I just want to play casually with my friends at home, I want to keep the multiple copies already inside the Final Fantasy decks. Which 40 cards from the corresponding Foundations packs should I add to each deck to reach 100?

2. Commander Format: If I want to turn both into legal Commander decks, I know I must remove all duplicates. Which specific unique cards from Foundations should I prioritize to fill the gaps and reach 100 cards for both? Does the box even have enough unique cards to do this?

Any breakdown of the best synergy cards, creatures, or how to split the lands with this zero-budget constraint would be amazing. Thanks in advance for helping a beginner out!

I bought a MTG The Hobbit Bundle with a bunch of friends as a gift to another friend, and when we open it on his birthday, it was missing a bunch of stuff. It just had the 9 play booster packs and the cardboard with the+1/+1 counters and stuff, but it was missing the 4 traditional foil full art seasonal hobbit lands, alt-art traditional foil the misty mountains cold, 5 traditional foil and 5 regular full art middle-earth journey lands, 10 traditional foil and 10 regular basic lands and the oversized spindown life counter dice. We are all new to magic, but we have bought a couple of bundles before, and we have never seen this happen. We dont know what to do because we are on a third world country and we dont know if this stuff has a fix here, specially when it cost us 80 dollars and thats a lot of money here.
If anyone knows what to do i would appreciate it a lot, cause we are stressed over here, thanks :(

Hey Everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but yes I did Google "Gold Deck Box" before I came and asked, none looked the same.

I got this deck box like almost 2 decades ago, won it at an actual proper sanctioned standard tournament I think* I can't even remember what the store/ tournament was, I vaguely recall a Figure of Destiny haha. It literally has no markings other than "Magic the gathering" on the front, it's finally starting to fall apart and I'd love to get another one. It's slightly foamy / squishy to the touch but very solid and great lid. Anyways I use it for Pauper and EDH tokens and I'd love to replace it before it completely falls apart.

I woke up 630am excited to play the mystery booster event at 9am. The day before I was told that the event registration is at 8am. I missed day 1 because I came at 845 (which is early and before all the events scheduled)

I reached at 810 and I saw the mystery booster registration pack up and leave when there was about 4-5 people in front of me. Surprised I asked whether there was another mystery booster event or pod, but the answer was no. The next event I could play was at 12pm for chaos sealed.

So if I wanted to play chaos sealed, I would need to wait from 810 to 11am when the chaos sealed would be open for registration. And even then 11am is too late because there would already be a queue before that. So realistically speaking if I want to guarantee myself a slot, I would queue up at 1030am before the registration opens in order to secure a seat.

So on day 2, I had 8 game tokens and I could attend only 3 more events by the time I arrived in day 2. To be fair, this is a command fest but I didn’t come prepared for a commander game. My guess is that the experience they have would be similar.

In my imaginary calculations, the average new player would be able to play maximum one game. Because in the first day I would realise I need to be early and then on the 2nd day I will realise I needed to reach even earlier. So that’s about 4 hours of travelling time and waiting and getting nothing.

I asked if there would be any other additional events because it looks clear to me that there will be an over supply of tokens and not enough events. Nothing but I don’t blame them for this part because it’s really hard to throw in events just like that without planning. But I had some expectation that they would do better as the leader of trading card games. The general feeling I had was like maybe magic threw the organisers a few pages of AI generated instructions and everyone was simply following exactly what was there and not aware of how things are changing on the ground.

Honestly the event was underwhelming. If I know I couldn’t play, I would not have come. In fact I was so upset, I left without selling my tokens (I tried for a bit but no response). I have not done this with any event before. I would usually make sure I sell the tokens or tickets before I leave.

It was such a massive waste of time. Even my secondary school friends in year 1 wasted less of my time than magic did.

I’m now asking for a refund. Will update what happens next

Just picked up my first precon, wakanda forever. Guy at the lgs said it was a good one to start with pretty simple to use for a beginner.

Hi! In every game I watch on youtube they praise the Bauble. Yes, it is a staple in commander, but there are other mana ramps who do a better job, right? Or what am I missing?

If I have [[library of leng]] in play and I cast a [[burning inquiry]] what is supposed to happen?

Do I choose the order of the 3 cards on top?

Do I get to look at all 3 cards before deciding if something goes on top?

Do I get to know the card i am deciding on or is it shown to me post choice?

Sorry, just a rant. Started with just one split, luckily we had 4 spare sleeves in the box. Moments later, another and another, and another, an no spares left… we’ve used Dragon Shields for multiple decks across multiple games and formats and this Blood Red matte set just HAS to be a lemon. Right?

Building a Thelon deck and noticed it says a fungus from A graveyard, not just yours. Was wondering if there is a way to change the cards in my opponents graveyard into fungus

I have only played Magic once, and I have already forgotten how to play. I love Marvel though, especially a character called Nova. I have been collecting the new Marvel set for the art, and I wanted to make a card for my boy. Is this anywhere close to balanced?
