Looking for a screen free craft?
Hi everyone! I've started a small business based in Orleans where I sell paint your own plaster kits for both kids and adults. Kits vary in size and price, with each kit containing 1-2 figurines, 3-4 paints, and 1-2 paintbrushes, all priced between 5-15$.
They're perfect for date nights, keeping your kids busy, teachers who have class parties, de-stressing, and everyone in between!

Princess Louise Falls
A very picturesque spot that I don't think is very well known by those who live outside of Orléans. The falls are a decent size and you can not only get quite close to them, there are quite a few different vantage points you can access with relative ease for different views of the falls.
I shot this last June but I didn't get around to sending the slide out for a good scan until last month. Very happy with the results. Images On Bank will be getting a copy of this to frame soon!

Whoever you're voting for, ask them if they live in your Ward
City council is the closest thing we ever get to actual local representation, and I think it's important to live in the Ward you want to represent. I live in Ward 1 and because of Matt's legal troubles, we have a few people from outside running. Here's an incomplete list of Orleans candidates and if they live where they want to represent.
Ward 1 - Orleans East
Yvette Ashiri - lives in Ward 19 (where she has previously run twice)
Bob Bell - based on his social lives in Queenswood Heights
Mazhar Choudry - rumour is he lives out of Ward, but I can't find anything to confirm that
Barbara Daniela Gandolfo - on Fallingbrook Neighbourhood Watch, safe to say she lives in Fallingbrook
Matt Luloff - my understanding is when the Ward boundaries changed he got shifted into Ward 2, but decided to keep running here because it was most of his former Ward
Sherif Rizk - owns a business in the Ward, but I don't know if he lives here too. Wouldn't be surprised if he does, but I can't confirm or deny.
Tammie Trellert - her site says "this community is home" so it would be weird if she didn't live in Ward
Ward 2 - Orleans West
Laura Dudas - lives in Ward
Jenna Jessop - based on her social lives in the part of the Ward north of the 174
David Purchase - was on the Blackburn community association, so would be weird if he didn't live in Ward
Ward 11 - Beacon Hill
Coreen Corcoran - her website says she lives in Beacon Hill
Cathryne Milburn - Tim made a big deal in the debate that she doesn't live in the Ward and I don't think she's denied that
Tim Tierney - will tell anyone he meets he lives in the Ward
Ward 19 - Orleans South
Catherine Kitts - don't know but I've never heard she lives outside her Ward
Jason Wing - no idea, his site says Orleans but not Ward 19 specifically

Interesting graphic from Horizon Ottawa
galleryI’ve seen a lot of luloff signs but I really feel people are voting for him because they know him or have dealt with him in the past, and he’s familiar.
I think Bob Bell’s campaign is really picking up, I just hope it’s in time.
Orleans needs change and it’s wild to see the info laid out like this.

Service Ontario St. Joseph
Yesterday I went to get licence renewed and it was absolutely wild. It was packed, more people standing than sitting, the parking lot was like the Hunger games with people double and triple-parking and some near collisions. It took over 90 minutes to get service Did I just pick a really bad day or is this the new normal?

4th Year Nursing Students seeking Ottawa parents with children with accessibility needs
docs.google.comHi, we are a group of nursing students from the University of Ottawa/Algonquin College, and we’re seeking information from individuals living with children with disabilities.
Through our Community Health placement, we want to better understand the perspectives and experiences of parents and caregivers living with children with accessibility needs.
The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes of your time.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Beware -Chapel Hill Park & Ride
I just got back from work and got off the park and ride (at around 3:05pm) to go grab my car and there were 3 teens (one seemed like a pre-teen) looking inside a few parked car. I approached him and asked if it was his car and he said “no”. So I told him not to look through peoples cars. The other 2 were further away by the wooded trees and the young boy quickly went towards them.
Just a reminder to lock your cars and make do a quick walk around your car today and this week!
Looking for recommendations for a restaurant that can host 20-25 people
Are there any spots in Orléans that can accommodate this? It doesn't necessarily have to be a proper sit-down restaurant

Looking for French learning resources in the community
I’m hoping to learn French and was wondering if anyone knows of any local resources
I’d definitely prefer something free, whether that’s community programs, conversation groups, classes, etc., but I’d also be willing to pay for something if it’s worthwhile
Just looking for some recommendations from people who might know a thing or two
Merci !
