Discussion Please Help this Sweet Boy
****URGENT FOSTER NEEDED**** Los Angeles Ca
-Great Pyrenees- The owner has locked him out of the property and won't let him back in. He just stays outside of the property and isn't getting food or water unless somebody brings it to him. He's apparently very friendly.
All he wants to do is go home and he's not allowed to and apparently somebody went and knocked on the door to tell him his dog was out there and he said it's not my dog anymore and I don't want him. So he's been living in the alleyway almost 2 months.

Boost boost boost!!! Please tag any rescues in your area or look up Best Friends Society rescue. They’re all over America and are a genuinely caring rescue. They might be able to help or get more visibility for this baby.
No one should even want him to ever go back to the bastards that locked him out.
What a LOYAL dog. Truly disgusting and heartbreaking anyone could do this.

Dogs are so emotionally intelligent, too. He doesn't understand what he did to deserve this, and I'm sure he's heartbroken, but stays loyal to his abusive owner all the same.
This is not okay. These fluffy guardians deserve better from the human race.
Thank you to all the people near and willing to rescue him. He deserves a best friend who will love and support him (or her). You have my respect and gratitude 🧡🍀.

I own a Pyrenees and they patrol their property. He will never leave on his own. Where is he? Mine is 11. She is blind and has diabetes and she still goes outside and patrols, she knows exactly where she is and who belongs here. This makes me furious!!!

Contact National Great Pyrenees Rescue. I’ve worked for them quite a bit, sometimes involving situations exactly like this. They are amazing people!

I live in Mt. Shasta, we are retired have a three year old neutered Bernese mountain dog and a fenced back yard. Our pups have always lived in the house with us . If someone can get him to me we would love to give him a loving warm home.

Post in the Pyrenees sub. You might be able to get more specialized help. Dear God my heart wants that boy so bad, but my Sofi is dying of cancer, and well, so am I. My heart is with this little love, and I hope with every fibre of my entire being, he gets a good FOREVER home. Also, big 🖕to whomever dumped him.

Oh I’m so sorry. We have a pyr mix and they are the most amazing dogs in the world!! Their empathy is off the charts. They’re such wanderers and runners tho I’m shocked he’s stayed put. Mine bolts the minute he can.

I hope someone Gives this Boy a good Forever Home Where he can be Loved and Cared for Forever. Bob Barker and Doris Day wouldn't Approve & Neither Do I & I'm sure anybody else viewing this doesn't Approve Either. Bob Barker Donated 25 Million Dollars to his Animal Foundation and other Animal Foundations and so did Doris Day. They were Altruistic and Eaglatarian in their Cause of Getting Animals a Good Forever Home Where they are Loved and Cared for. They were the Few Nabob Affluent Luminaries that were Genuinely Great People and an Example to Live By. They live on Posthumously Through THEIR Animal Foundations and so do the PEOPLE who are incredibly Dedicated to Saving Animals.

This poor animal. So sick of people dipping out of their responsibilities. Just had a woman today telling me she has a neighbor that wants to get rid of her dog and asked me how to do it when she found out that I help a local rescue

Contact LA county animal control. They will investigate and can enforce legal action against the owner for neglect & cruelty. It's illegal to dump an animal on the street. He needed to surrender the poor thing to a shelter. SPCA & Humane Society can't enforce the law. So if you want something to happen to the owner, you have to call the right place. They hold the dog while legal action occurs and put the dog up for adoption.
You can still track and advocate for the dog once they are up for adoption. But leaving him on the street is not an option.
You can't really offer a dog for foster when the dog is actually living on the street. Y Take the dog to a rescue or county animal shelter and repost when there is shelter information.

Amazing loyalty to still be hanging around his old home. My huskies use any excuse to get out and book it for the hills and then act like I’m the as*hole for coming and getting them.

Many rescues and fosters in LA - fingers crossed he gets snatched up soon. I would hope - and strongly suggest - that the owner be reported to law enforcement for animal cruelty.

I'm in Canada but have flown down to LA to adopt two dogs previously. Willing to do it again for this gentle giant, if you don't have local foster options or if you want to skip the foster home and go right to forever home. I could be there by Friday night, would have to make a vet appointment Saturday AM for shots, to get trazadone/diazepam (for travel) and to get a certification of rabies vax (req'd for entry to Canada), and then fly him back home with me Sunday.
