Rolex Mallorca frustration rant

Visited the Rolex store in Mallorca today and was astounded by the incredibly rude service. Nobody welcomed and up on asking my about Yachtmaster 41 blue dial - I was essentially told how stupid I would be to assume they have something like this and that no pieces are available and that I would need to wait at least 5 years. Offered to show me a full rose gold gmt and full gold sub.

I don’t get it.

Note: everywhere else I have been so far Miami, Hong Kong, Munich, zurich - all of them were kind and considerate.

Well, I've been on a waiting list for an explorer 1 for a while and...

They called me yesterday to say they have one for me! 36mm steel. Now the issue is I spent that money a while back on other things, like a black bay one 36mm and a black bay pro...

But! As I said to the sales guy on the phone, there could be a chance! Hopefully one of my cars is selling tomorrow and then the money will be there.. he'll keep the watch for me until Wednesday.

Fingers crossed for me people 🤞

Which Rolex to Wear

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m curious for those of you with two or more Rolexes how you decide which to wear. I bought a Pepsi on jubilee at the AD in 2022. I purchased a bluesy from a reputable grey dealer in August. I love them both but the bluesy is still the new thing and I find myself putting it on most of the time unless I’m leaving the time zone. I think I enjoy the weight of the submariner and the look of gold more. I know stainless and white gold is in fashion right now but I like what I like, not what everyone tells me I should like. I think part of it is the new watch phase with the bluesy. I have had thoughts of selling the Pepsi to get something else but I think it’s just the new watch phase that has to wear off.

I’ve been on a waitlist at 2 AD’s for about 6 months now, hoping for this reference on jubilee but no diamonds. Its pretty damn close, only issue is that its quite a bit more money for diamonds i am neutral about. Thoughts?

Is this ticking sound normal when winding my Rolex Submariner 16610?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,
I have a 2006 Rolex Submariner 16610 (D serial, calibre 3135) and have noticed something when manually winding it.

The crown feels smooth overall, but it sounds like a bit scratchy maybe? I think its very wound up also now…

I’m wondering whether this is normal for the calibre 3135, or if it could indicate something in the winding mechanism.

I’ve attached a video so you can hear the sound.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their 16610 or another Rolex with the 3135 movement?
Thanks in advance!

The “G” in the GMT is slimmer, is this normal or factory defect. For reference,i have provided a few pictures for comparison:
Pic 1 : Green Arrow 2011
Pic 2 : Green Arrow 2016
Pic 3 : Bruce Wayne 2024

Also, for the 2011 Green arrow, there is no AR coating to be soon on the cyclops as compared to the 2016. Is that normal or AR coating worn out.

Trade a ‘25 sub date for ‘26 Yacht Master Titanium?

Guys I have an offer for a my sub date at 13k and trade it for an unworn Yacht Master Titanium for 23.5. If they can come down $500 on it or up 500 on the sub, is that a good deal? Need expert opinion. Sub date is worth 15k but Yacht is usually 26k.

Yeah I know it’s not a big deal. But after purchasing 3 2026 models I wanted to get one of them at least. Just something interesting.

It’s like pulling a rare Pokémon card!

I know the watch itself and the straps aren’t people’s favourites, but I love it!

Oyster Bracelet for spring and autumn, rubber for summer and ostrich leather for winter/Christmas.

Explorer 36 vs 40

Trying to decide which explorer 1 looks better!

When I had initially tried on a 36mm it just felt a little small. I went to a diff boutique and they had a 40mm and 36mm two tone explorer. The 40mm felt better and when comparing to the 36mm looked better? I think the pictures make the 36mm look bigger than it actually is in person, but just wondering opinions! Kinda leaning toward 40 but also wondering how 39mm would look.

thank you!

One stays, one goes. I already listed the Explorer, but did I choose wrong?

Post image

I picked up the beige-dial OP a few days ago, knowing I’d have to let one of these go. The Explorer drew the short straw and is already listed on eBay, but seeing them side by side has me seriously second-guessing that decision.

The OP feels warmer, less common, and a little dressier. The Explorer is the classic grab-and-go, do-everything Rolex and probably the safer choice long term.

I genuinely can’t justify keeping both, so no “keep both” loophole: which one would you keep, and which one would you let go? Am I just in the honeymoon phase with the OP?

One more Rolex

I am going to sell the Monaco that has been with me for almost 20 years and buy one more Rollie. The question is which one. The box is my full collection for context. I’d like opinions and reasons. My ultimate decision will be mine and I have a watch in mind but I am open to different ideas if they make sense. Thanks

Nyc oyster perpetual

Hi everyone! I live in NYC and I’m looking to buy an Oyster Perpetual 41mm, but as you all know, they seem to be out of stock everywhere. I’ve put my name down at both WoS and Bucherer. Does anyone have an idea of how long the wait might be or when I could expect to get the call? Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

Finding 28 or 31?? Datejust in Australia

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all,

What is a realistic time frame to get this in 28 or 31mm in Australia? I live in a city without an AD.

Can anyone recommend grey dealer in Brisbane or Sydney that may have ladies size datejust with simple batton dial

Please don't tell me about your American ad that gave you one in 5 mins because this is not that.

Birth year Submariner for my son

Post image
17 Upvotes

Grew up poor and never thought I'd own a Rolex. Got this one for my son's birth year, and I'll give it to him when he's older.

It represents all the blood, sweat, and tears it took to get here, and my promise to break the cycle and give my kids a better start than I had.
