A while ago, I read a Creepypasta on 'Geoshea's Creepypasta Wiki' (now called the Lost Episode Creepypasta Wiki) about a supposed unlicensed SpongeBob mobile game called "Call SpongeBob SquarePants 2018 App".
To summarize the Creepypasta, it starts off with saying that a recent rumor about an unlicensed SpongeBob app that would steal your personal information was debunked. The author then downloaded the app to see what it would do. The app is described to have copied the same interface as the iPhone's calling info UI with the only option being to 'Call SpongeBob'. When they proceeded to 'Call SpongeBob', a piece of audio plays coming from a person named "Happy Slappy" where they make a stabbing threat to the author. The Creepypasta ends where the author ended up having nightmares after playing the game and told others to never download the app.
There were 2 photos up on the main Creepypasta page, the 1st one (the main image on this thread) is seemingly the app icon that shows a stock image of SpongeBob with his arms out along with a terribly accept and hang up icons on the bottom corners. There other image however I couldn't find anywhere, but it was a supposed Facebook warning that told others about the malicious intent of the app and warned others not to download it. I never checked to see if that Facebook post was real, because I wasn't sure if the app actually exists.
Another thing I found weird about the Creepypasta was that it mixed 2 other controversies with moblie apps. The 1st being the controversy about Outfit7's Talking Angela game (where the rumor that the game steals your information) and the 2nd being related to another call a cartoon character app where you call Blaze from Blaze and the Monster Machines (where the Happy Slappy dialogue comes from). There were news reports of the Call Blaze app, but they never made any mentions of other apps that contained the same audio.
My guess is that there were other apps made by the same Call Blaze app developers, however they didn't get as much traction as the Blaze app did. The reason for this is that both Blaze and the Monster Machines and SpongeBob are Nickelodeon owned properties. Also they were both very popular by the time the apps apparently released in which was in 2018.
The only evidence of the app's supposed existence is the app icon, which I'm not even sure if it's authentic or was made by the author themselves. I've also searched on YouTube for any footage of the app, but what I found were unrelated to the app the Creepypasta mentions. I could be that the app is fake since it originates from a Creepypasta.
Does anybody know if this app is real?
