Is there a reason why steam just wiped our steam family? I reinvited everyone tho with no issue. Just curious if this might happen again.

My steam keeps getting frozen on this part when loading up and then closing, I’ve reset my laptop three times and I don’t know how to fix it. Please help

Like the title says, since a couple of weeks ago, first time I try to turn on steam, it loads for a bit, then turns off (no related running application/process in Task Manager either). Attempting to turn it on again results in expected behaviour (it turning on, then working with no issues).
Is there something that happened with Steam/Windows 11 that could have caused this to start happening - I have no other technical issues occurring with any other app?

I don't even know how to describe what's going on here. It keeps doing this, and crashing. The lag's pretty bad too. Is it the Steam update that got us or?

Recently I’ve been having in issue on Steam where every time I earn an achievement in a specific game, Elden Ring, they just disappear after about an hour or so. I’ve tried looking up guides and finding posts about similar issues but so far not a single one of them has helped me at all, and I feel like there aren’t many options left. I would very much appreciate if someone could help me out with this issue because it has gotten quite maddening.

I'm trying to restore my games from wired NAS (network attached storage) and I'm getting the error in the title.
I've tried mapping the network drive and also using the ip address (\\ipaddress\share\) format and neither of them worked.
I tried making a new backup and restoring from the new network location and did not work either, the only thing worked was copying the backup files locally and restoring from there.
Online results about the error only reference installing games from disks but not restoring backups.
Win 11 x64, fresh install and have 930GB free on main drive.
Any help is appreciated!

Does anyone know how to stop this from being my default search. Its like this whenever I open the workshop. While its not game breaking, it is annoying.

Hola gente quisiera saber si alguien sabe que puedo hacer. Lo que pasa esque hace unos dias empece a tener problemas con steam, con los juegos de la familia para ser exactos. El caso es que hace unos dias yo jugaba los juegos de la familia con total normalidad pero luego a los dias que quise volver a jugar el juego no abrio hizo el intento pero se cerro. Y lo que mas me preocupa es que no son todos los juegos, hay algunos que si deja jugar y otros que no, alguien sabe por qué es y que podria hacer al respecto?

As the title suggested, steam is automatically putting Arc Raider on my cart, and sending it to someone, and I gained 6 unknown friends user.

And I found the problem is that my External Hardisk likely to be the case, everytime I put it in, it always put the cart and added those 6 people again like immediately.

I check on my steam account, that no one has access to my steam account beside my PC and my phone.

Can someone tell me what kind of virus is this? I just put the hardisk cable onto the PC, not running exe or touching anything.

Currently I am running Malwarebytes right now.

My concern is, if the hacker got my PC, why don't they steak my email, and WHY just putting steam cart? This must be steam related issues! I swear. Could be these workshop? Cause I always put my steam games on external when I am done playing.

I got a terrorblade arcana from the steam store and it is tradable but was on trade cooldown until october 21, then i broke my techies arcana that was untradable and extracted prismatic: explosive burst from it and put it into my terrorblade arcana. Now the trade cooldown is until oct 25 and looks like this. Will this item be tradable?

I've tried resetting the download cache and web browser cache and have tried restarting both my PC and Steam.

Could it be because of the fact that I downloaded the game while my main account was limited? My friend suggested hopping on his account to download Deadlock, and just a few hours ago I met the required condition to "unlimit" my Steam account.

Tried to do something and ended up having to reset my steam password. After this I tried to sign into steam and it didn’t work, it also told me I had too many retries so I just let my pc be. I waited a day and tried again, it still said too many retries although it had been an entire day. Then, I reset my password AGAIN and tried to sign in through my phone and the error message that is stated in the title popped up. Someone help me.

For the last few days, my steam client doesn't work. I tried restarting my PC and even reinstalling the app but nothing seems to work. The images aren't showing, some text, like library or settings, isn't showing, my profile picture isn't showing and even the hidden app icons it's not showing anything.

What's wrong with it?

anytime i try to download a game it keeps failing and sys this i need a fix for this

1. i've tried deleting my download cache
2. i've tried changing my download region
3. i've tried deleting steam and redownloading it
4. i've tried uninstalling the game and redownloading it

Hello I haven’t used my account in a few months and can’t log in nor will it send me a code what do I do?

I'm a Starfield player with over 5K hours. I tried for the first time to use Steam to backup my game files. I select the folder to put the backup in, and then I get "Backup Failed - Disk Write Error". Anyone know what's going on?

i'm on windows 11 and have never had this problem before. for context, this started on the 16th (it's the 18th as i'm typing this) and i was trying to play risk of rain 2, when all of a sudden it started lagging uncontrollably. i've already ruled out every cause other than the steam launcher itself (my pc specs are fine, i've tried standard protocols like rebooting/shutting off my pc, i've freed up 150+ gb of storage and my wifi works everywhere else). my games genuinely take 5+ minutes to start up and the lag makes them unplayable anyway. clearing the download cache works maybe 4 times out of 10. this started happening after the latest windows + steam updates. how do i fix this? has it been happening to anyone else?

I cant play the game with my friend. I just bought it for the both of us and I go and try to load it up but for some reason he can access the server but I cant. Does anyone know how I can join my friends game?

So I have this problem with my Call of Duty update being stuck at 1% for hours, and I can't stop the update either. When I open Steam, it's always updating but doesn't get past 1%. When I try to stop the update, it gets stuck on the "stopping download" screen. I tried restarting my laptop and restarting Steam but it doesn't work. Also I tried clearing cache but it can't be done since Call of Duty download can't stop for some reason. Did anyone else had something similar happen? I don't want to uninstall and then install the game again since it takes long because the game takes a lot of space. Any suggestions? If not, I might have to reinstall the game after all

its working fine yesterday, but this morning it wont launch at all, just stuck on 'updating steam'
does anyone have the same issue? or its just me and my pc?

If you are having "Steam Service Error" everytime you launch Steam. Heres the fix:

On your desktop press WINDOWS + R, type msconfig, System configuration window would open up. Go to the services tab and check the "Hide all Microsoft services" box. Next find "Steam Client Service" and make sure it is checked. Click apply and OK, it will prompt you to restart the computer.

After this you will probably not face this error anymore. I have tested by checking and unchecking "Steam Client Service" and this seems to be the fix.

Below are the images of the error message and the services tab with "Steam Client Service" highlighted that you need to make sure is checked. Hope this helps.

Guys is it just me or has Steam gotten worse? It crashed twice today and it rarely used to crash for me. Also when I click a game in my library it takes a while to load it used to load instantly and sometimes games don't even launch when I open them and I have to try launching them a second time to get them to boot up. what's going on?

I have two refund tickets open on my account and I’m worried the old one is stuck.

1. Outworld Station: I requested a refund on May 9 (reason: “not fun”). The ticket has been open for over 5 months with no reply and the money was never returned. Purchased on May 5, 21 minutes played.
2. ARC Raiders: I requested a refund on October 17 because my PC doesn’t meet the system requirements. Purchased on October 12, 86 minutes played.

Payment method: card.

Both tickets still show as “Open” (screenshot attached). Has anyone had an old refund ticket get stuck like this? Is there any way to get it escalated or closed, and could it be blocking the new request?
