Trying for baby #2 and feeling discouraged

Hi everyone. I’m feeling a little discouraged and could use some advice or just someone who understands.
My husband and I started trying for baby number two this month. My cycles are usually 27–28 days, and over the last three months of tracking, my LH peak has typically been around CD 12–13. This cycle, it didn’t happen until CD 15, which threw me off. My period is predicted to start today, and every pregnancy test has been very clearly negative.
I’m bloated and cramping, and it feels like my period is going to start any minute. I don’t even know why I keep testing, hoping something will change, but seeing another negative still hurts every time.
We were extremely fortunate to conceive our first baby after one cycle, and I think that experience set my hopes pretty high. I’m 37 now and was 35 when we conceived our first, so I’m trying not to get in my head and worry that I’ve somehow missed my window.
A CT scan in July incidentally showed a corpus luteum, so I have some reassurance that I’ve ovulated previously. I’ve also been under a lot of stress studying for my boards, and I wonder whether that played a role in this cycle being different. I didn’t track my temperature, but I’m planning to next month.
I know one month of trying doesn’t mean something is wrong, but knowing that hasn’t stopped me from feeling disappointed and spiraling. My husband is trying to be supportive, but I think I just need to hear from others who understand the hope, uncertainty, and letdown.

Second opinion wanted Am I out this month?

Hi friends, my period should have started today, and I’m having pregnancy symptoms. However, my tests are negative. To protect my heart, should I count myself out this month? FRER, Easy@home and Wondfo are all negative.

Questions Do I need progesterone suppositories for trying naturally?

I have a good day 7 and day 8 post ovulation progesterone (12 ng/ml) but it crashes hard day 10 DPO (3-4 ng/ml). But my period doesn't come on until 2 days later. But is that a 10 day luteal phase or 12 day luteal phase?

Should I be getting progesterone suppositories?

The struggle..

26F TTC since 2 years
I am currently reading a book in which the lead struggles with infertility and is unable to conceive despite 5 rounds of IVF, and they eventually get separated cuz the guy ends up liking another woman and has a baby with her. Omg this is bumming me out sooo much! It’s not like I think I will end up like that, my hubby loves me but I cannot help but wonder about the infertility part. Someone please knock some sense into me :((

P.s we’re also going through a rough patch, cuz my MIL got diagnosed with lymphoma recently and me with disc bulges in L4, L5 (spinal cord). So maybe that’s why I keep getting bummed out

Rant Assuming I’m out this cycle

I was actually somewhat hopeful based on my temps, but this morning woke up to this temp plummet.

Granted, I got horrible sleep last night as I was up with my sick dog the majority of the night.

But, I started getting light cramping last night too.

I was hopeful this month after an HSG, but guess will just wait for AF and start tracking to try for cycle 7…I’m so sick of this process tbh.

Second opinion wanted TTC- Emergency MD and Lumbar Dissection

Hi everyone,

I’m 27, TTC for the last 6 months, and just had to have emergency spinal surgery. It was a Microdiscectomy and Lumbar Dissection for my L1-L5. I had an extremely large piece of bone pressing on my S1 nerve. I went in to the emergency room at 4:30am and by 4:00pm I was in the operating room (still very grateful for how quickly this was taken care of.)

Anyways lol, I’m 10 days post surgery and just wanted to hear from other people who may have gone through the same thing? I obviously have to pause TTC until I’m healed, would you still take your prenatal and folic acid?

I had a switch over of insurance and had to find a PCP right after surgery. I’m going to bring this up with her but until my appointment I’m kind of informational limbo.

Thanks in advance!!

Rant 12 DPO, brown spotting and emotionally exhausted from TTC

I'm 12 DPO and honestly, I'm so fed up with the emotional rollercoaster of trying to conceive.

We've recently been through IVF, and our only embryo that made it to biopsy and freezing wasn't suitable for transfer after genetic testing. It was heartbreaking, and I'm still processing it all while trying to conceive naturally.

This cycle, I've been analysing everything. My Ultrahuman Ring, temperature, resting heart rate, discharge, appetite and every little symptom. Now I'm experiencing light dark-brown spotting, with a tiny bit of pink when wiping. My period isn't due for another couple of days, and I have no idea what to think.

My mood has changed drastically. I'm angry, emotional, confused and exhausted. One minute I have hope, and the next I'm preparing myself for disappointment. I'm sick of spending two weeks hoping and the next two weeks feeling dread, sadness and frustration.

I spend so much time reading everyone's posts looking for hope, reassurance and wisdom. I know symptoms can't tell me whether I'm pregnant, but when you're desperate for an answer, it's hard not to analyse everything.

I just needed to get this off my chest. How do you cope with the two-week wait, the spotting, the symptom spotting and the constant emotional ups and downs?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who understands. ❤️

Questions Positive pdg test and spotting

Hi,

I am 12dpo and I am spotting since yesterday. It is everytime more and more intense though, went from light pink to brown. Suprisingly I did a pdg test and it's still positive. Does that matter that pdg is still testing positive? Shouldn't it be negative already if I am already getting my period?

Ovulation No discharge

So the first time I got pregnant I wasn’t tracking I quit my birth control the beginning of that month and had a positive test. But never had any discharge to prove ovulation. Same time this around, I quit my birth control, two weeks later I got a positive ovulation test, slight cramping but no discharge (says supposed to be egg white consistency). Just wondering has anyone else experienced this🥲

Ovulation Low LH strips for over a week

Hi everyone

I had a miscarriage in June and I am desperate to conceive again. I was 12 weeks pregnant when I miscarried as my baby girl had Turners Syndrome. We are desperate to conceive again and it breaks my heart that I’m not due in December anymore. I have been tracking LH religiously. After the miscarriage, I had one anovulatory cycle and one cycle where I ovulated but the ovulation was CD 35. On these cycles, my LH hovered around 0.5/0.6/0.7 throughout the cycle before the ovulation. This cycle, my LH is hovering mostly around 0.02. I am so worried about this and what it means, am I lacking LH now and won’t ovulate? I’m really overwhelmed by it all and just need to seek reassurance or comfort from strangers online. It’s been such a long and difficult few months and now I’m anxious about being so low. Please help!

I had my hsg yesterday and my tubes are open (yay) but the structure of my uterus has me panicked. Has anyone else had an hsg image that showed a bumpy uterus?

How do I cope with the waiting period between ovulation and when I can test?

Hi everyone! This is the first month my husband (34M) and I (30F) are trying to have a baby. My fertile window has now officially passed, and I am struggling to pass the time before I can officially take an early detection pregnancy test next weekend. I find that I'm constantly thinking about if it actually worked, timelines, telling people, what life will be like, etc. My brain is an endless stream of overthinking about every possibility this week.

I am sure this is common, but how did everyone cope with this feeling and how did you either distract yourself or embrace it?

At what point do I need medical intervention?

I am 24, and my husband is 26. This is our fourth cycle of trying to conceive. I have tracked my period since I was a teenager. A few years ago, one ovary and tube were removed because of a cyst, but I was told I should not have trouble getting pregnant. Because of that experience, I have feared trying and failing, so I have consistently tracked ovulation for all four months. My LH tests at peak ovulation have all been high and consistent, at 1.5 and above.

Background information: I used the NuvaRing for six to seven months before that, and the pill for five to six months prior.

I am now 14 days past ovulation and am getting cramps and period pains. I feel it coming. I am devastated that it will be my period and do not know at what point in this journey it is appropriate to see a specialist. Four months sounds early, but it feels so long.

If anyone can tell me how they overcame the thought that I might have gotten pregnant if I had been trying actively not to, I would appreciate it. I am a religious person and believe in God’s plan, but I feel so broken. I feel broken. My main function as a woman is not working as it should, and I cannot bear to face my husband to tell him it did not work again. I know people have struggled for years, but as I am sure everyone says, I never thought it could be me.

Questions Confused?

So I’m cycle day 29 right now, 14/15dpo I think. Yesterday I started spotting and thought I was surely getting my period and was expecting heavy flow overnight into today… but today I’ve had nothing all day. Cervix is still high and firm and closed. Test this morning was negative? Temps dropping… I’ve never had this happen before. Anyone know what’s going on?

Questions Cycle fluctuates a lot - any advice?

Like title mentions - my cycle will be somewhat “normal” for a month or two and then be really long. This makes tracking ovulation really difficult because there’s no consistency. I’m 31 with hashimotos so I’m assuming it has something to do with that, but just wondering if any of you have experience with this and have advice for what I could try or look into?

Lack of intimacy while TTC…

My husband & I have always had mismatched drives (mine higher than his).

Now, after a miscarriage in April & struggling to conceive (no living children), I feel like my husband is defeated and, maybe getting in his head about intimacy & “performing”.

I’m struggling because, I’m trying to be patient, don’t want intimacy to be a chore, and I don’t want it to ever feel forceful. It’s also challenging that, it’s such a short window of time, and it’s a struggle to find a balance of trying to do it enough without becoming annoying.

It’s a struggle to even try to be intimate every 3-5 days during the possible windows of time, let alone more than that. I think he’s also getting in his head because intimacy is just…not the same as it used to be.

We’ve had some conversations about it, but I just feel isolated and alone and I don’t just want to talk to friends about this since it’s so personal. I just don’t know what to do. We’re coming up on a year of TTC and no healthy pregnancy.

Questions How often should I test for ovulation?

I recently had my hormonal IUD removed and am expecting my cycle to be pretty irregular for a few months. How often should I take ovulation tests during this time of uncertainty? Once a week, twice a week? Would love to hear what has worked for others!

Second opinion wanted Need Advice

Hi everyone! ❤️
I’m 34 years old, turning 35 this November. I just completed my 3rd medicated IUI, and unfortunately, another negative. 💔
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost a year now, and I have a low AMH of 0.64. I’ve never had a positive pregnancy test, not even once.
My doctor is now recommending that we move on to IVF. According to my doctor, if IUI was going to work, it likely would have worked within the first three attempts, and trying a 4th IUI may not significantly increase my chances.
But honestly, I’m not mentally or emotionally ready to move on to IVF just yet. I feel like everything is happening so fast, and I’m terrified of what comes next.
Ever since my latest negative test, I haven't been able to stop crying. I feel completely heartbroken, overwhelmed, and scared. Every month I try to stay hopeful, only to end up disappointed again.
Has anyone been in a similar situation with low AMH and multiple failed IUIs? Did you try a 4th IUI, or did you move straight to IVF? Has anyone had success after 3 failed IUIs?
I know everyone's journey is different, but I could really use some hope, encouragement, and honest experiences right now.
I’m just not ready to give up on IUI yet or try naturally but I’m also scared of wasting precious time. 💔
Any advice or positive stories would mean so much to me. ❤️

Ubiquinol dosage

I've been taking ubiquinol 150mg once per day for the last 6 months and I don't think it's working. Leaving apart the fertility support, I don't even feel energetic or less fatigued ever since I'm on it, if anything I feel more drained out.

Keen to know what dosage everyone's on and the reason behind it. My GP didn't specifically put me on coq10, it was my choice to see if it makes a difference at all.

Rant I’m surrounded by pregnant people…

I am in a really tough place right now. My neighbors on both sides of me are pregnant, as well as my BIL and his spouse. The BIL one has been especially hard for me. We are good friends and they live close by too, so we see them almost daily. I’ve been with them through the journey, took them to the ultrasound when they found out it’s a girl, bought baby clothes for them, etc etc. I am so excited to be an aunt but at the same time my heart is broken. My husband and I are the oldest of both our families, in our 30s, and still childless. He is the youngest.

My niece was an unplanned pregnancy. I have poured so many hours into researching to make sure our baby will have the best life it could. I held off for years out of pure anxiety the baby would be bipolar like myself, and it’s almost…. Offensive to me? I know I can’t control anyone else but I’m really struggling with these feelings of selfishness and jealousy and grief

I don’t know how to cope. I cry all the time, I’m angry and bitter.

Questions CD 46. Hormonal imbalance after CP?

(36F) No children. Feeling defeated and behind. We had a pregnancy in our 3rd cycle of trying that ended in a CP at 6 weeks. That loss was mid April. We’ve had no luck since.

Cycles before CP averaged 28 days, cycles after CP averaged 29 days with one 25 day outlier.

Before CP I had very few PMS symptoms. The first cycle after CP I had nausea and nipple pain as PMS symptoms.

The PMS nausea has subsided since but the nipple pain has remained. Sharp pinching/poking pain throughout the day and extreme sensitivity at very inconvenient times of day.

Now in mid October, I am on CD46 of the longest cycle I’ve ever had. I had to have blood panels done for a hysteroscopy/polypectomy so I know that my body hasn’t ovulated this cycle, even though I had 3 days in a row of positive LH tests at CD16 and the most intense two weeks of nipple pain I’ve experienced during what should have been my luteal phase.

They were waiting for my period so they could do the hysteroscopy on CD6, 7, or 8, but it never came and my blood panel showed I was in “pre-ovulation phase” even though I was on CD34.

All my other testing has come back normal except

AMH .88 (at my age the ideal number would be 2)
A1C 5.7
I have a 2cm cyst in my left ovary
AFC 9 when my AMH was .88

Since the beginning of September I’ve been changing my diet slowly to bring down my A1C but that change seems too gradual to have had this kind of impact. I’ve read that nipple pain is a result of excess estrogen. Is it possible my body is producing too much since the CP? Could that explain the uterine polyp as well?

Why have I gone from extremely regular straight to skipping ovulation, right at the moment I needed my cycle not to surprise me? 🙃

It’s been 4 days since my polypectomy so I am spotting but obviously that’s not the same as a period.

The regroup with my doc is set for Thursday. I like her but sometimes she moves so fast through an appointment that I can’t form the questions I want to ask in time. Is this worth asking her about? What about clomid or letrozole to start ovulation again?
