So at first i thought this grow pod along with two others had stalled, but upon inspection i saw some very, very slight progression. However, i also noticed this lil guy who somehow popped up. I’m not really sure what to do as the pod isn’t fully colonized (pic 2) and im definitely not gonna induce FC with that in mind (unless you guys think i should do that). I was advised against taking it out and scraping away the uncolonized grain/substrate by a friend, but I don’t know what else to do?? Any kind of direction would be helpful!

I’ve had three fantastic grows of B+ and GT but I have bags of PE and Hillbilly cultivating. I’ve seen a few things that they’re a bit harder to grow. Any solid tips for a newbie? I have LC from TBG and using rice bags which have been extremely successful so far

this is my first time spawning in jars (made them myself). i got some APE in rye. its about time to break n shake but im finding that its a lot harder to do in a jar. been shakin till my arms hurt and im not doing much of anything. im used to the ease of crushin up spawn bags.

honestly theyre most of the way there anyway... should i just let finish colonizing or keep tryina break it up n risk stressing out the mycelium?

everything’s white and no bad spots just primordia stuck or knots. The tub has lots of humitity and FAE holes as well as flipped lid. I spray the walls whenever they look dry and the surface is hydrated just confused on what’s wrong with it.

Hi! This is my first time growing! I bought a grow kit and have been following the guide that came with it, although also taking advice from this sub and elsewhere. Pictured above is my first flush. I have no idea if it is relatively good results. I imagine I did something wrong regarding humidity - the bag was always quite humid with lots of drops on the side but I think they concentrated on the sides of the tupperware, and I only had a few pins form on those locations, not anywhere else on the surface of the grow kit. They grew massive, although a bit funky! I expect some of this is genetics, but I read it's also to do with conditions not being ideal and nutrients being concentrated on the few mushies that managed to form. I would like some advice on how I could try to get a fuller canopy for my next flush. I wasn't fanning much because I had to be out of town for a few days, but the bag they grew inside was moderately open, being held only by paper clips. I also read that opening the bag all the time is also not ideal for growth, so I don't know much what to believe. I also would like to know how to make sure humidity is spread across the surface of the entire substrate, not just on the sides.
Anyway, any advice and feedback will be sorely appreciated. And either way, I hope you have a good day!

Is there any way to dehydrate discreetly? I'm fine w/ running a dehydrator in my closet but I'm worried about the noise, and most importantly the smell that mushrooms produce during the dehydration process.

First time growing mushrooms, i went with golden teachers.

This is first flush and what I woke up to this morning. I wasn't sure if I should harvest now since veils are being torn? Or if it would be worth to wait until more mature further.

Also wanted to see what you thought of my results.

Used 4 uncle Ben rice packets in a 16oz tub.

Im planning on testing my LC on 2 agar plates per jar. Do i use a seperate syringe for each of 2 plates,or do i just draw one syringe per jar and use a drop out of it on each plate? Sry im confused. Im a neewbie,and i try to do my homework before i just ask questions that could be answered with easy research;I just havent ran across any info that clarifies this for me.

Hi everyone I introduced fruiting conditions about 14 days ago now and I’ve got no pins or anything to resembles them. I’m growing blue meanie cubes and golden teachers.
There are also these brown spots appearing with some yellow around them, should I be concerned?

I use popcorn kernels for my grain spawn. Sometimes there's a bit of moisture and condensation build up over time, but usually no problem. 3 out of the 4 jars of APE look awesome and are almost finished! But the last one looks a bit different. A bit more wet. somewhat discolored. They look like they aren't colonized, but they are and I think it's just too wet. See pictures for comparison. Should I toss it, or is it safe to use it? I

Right so long story short… First time grower, set everything up yesterday easily enough. Put the grow in a still air box and put it near a radiator in a spare room. The website I bought them from said ideal temp is 20oc - 24oc so I set the thermostat to around that level and turned all the other radiators off in the house. Anyway, this morning I opened the spare room and it was like walking into a sauna. Checked the thermometer in the grow and it was showing 31oc! 🙄. I think what happened (according to ChatGPT) is because I turned all the other radiators off the thermostat was feeling cold still and putting the temp higher and higher.

Anyway, my question is will the grow likely still be ok after one night of high temps or have I ruined it already?

Meet Myc, just s2b 2-3 days ago and he's starting to peak through the casing layer! Having a blast with this so far and am excited to continue, I had a small question about water baths as a heating option, I got the mid west mono tub kit and it comes with a second bin then you put water and an aquarium heater then put your main tub in so it's touching the water. I don't have AC and it's starting to get into the 60's at night. What are some of y'all's opinions and do any of you have experience with that heating system?

Hey everyone! Update from my post a couple of weeks ago. I did a break and shake on just the grain and didn’t mix in the substrate, and this is what it looks like now. The mycelium has spread back out to this stage and it looks like maybe even starting to go into the substrate (last pic). Do I need to do anything to it now? Do I break and shake the whole thing including the substrate?

This is my third grow. The first two were wildly successful. I followed the guide in the wiki for ready rice bags.

I changed nothing, since I had success, but this time, these two shoeboxes are acting weird. The fruits in one are curling into themselves, and the other one has stopped growing; the fruits haven't grown all week.

Take a look, is there anything I should be worried about or should do different? More FAE? Less FAE? Temperature adjustment? I'm running a 12-hour light cycle with overhead ceiling lighting.

I put it in fruiting because I saw pins begin to form. I wanted to wait longer. Does it look okay? They are Natal moons

I'm 5 days since they started pinning and I notice some blue-greenish color on two of the bottoms of the fruit. The tub lid was pretty damp and droplets could have fallen onto the mycelium 🤷‍♂️

So I was fried as fuck in the middle of the night, and I realized that I had cobweb mold on my substrate. Now I’m not one to hold on to things really long but I looked up a guide on how to combat the contam, and it said “spray hydrogen peroxide on the area”. I’m literally operating outta my room so I couldn’t open it right up because my other grows were right there, so I just opened it in the still air box but when I opened it I realized the mold was yellow and….actively sporulating, so the spores would just settle in the sab… on the little bits of coco coir l had spilled inside before… so yeah what now?🤔

Assuming this is a toss based off what I’ve learned so far. Just double checking before I do.

super happy where I’m at, just wondering - with the few that are rather large already, as long as I pick them right after the veil drops but before they drop spores, it won’t ruin my grow, correct? I’m good to just pick them as the veils drop?

This is my first grow and it feels like i’m doing something wrong or i’m not patient enough, it’s been 16 days since FC and i mist only when the cake looks dry and the FAE is what you see in the pictures just barely cracked and i feel like i should see pins by now, strain is GT btw.

Golden teachers started curving down. They get ample sunlight and fanned/misted frequently. Not sure if this is an issue or some weird genetics or something

Hello! I used rice bags from aldis for my current grow. I had 6 bags but 1 of them was contaminated by BUGS! I never had it happen before and I've used brand name uncle bens before. It shocked me so much I didnt even open the last bag I had. I tried googling about it but all I kept finding was rice weevils in dry rice/grain. I just want to figure out if it was my direct fault, like i missed something while sterilizing or inoculating or SOMETHING. Or, if it's like a manufacturer error and something I have to look out for...idk how but I will definitely look for it now lol Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Also. No I don't have a pressure/rice cooker. I am a small casual grower who works A LOT so unclebens and neglect tek are my current methods :)
