Recommendations Allowing female characters to feel real
I am in desperate need of recommendations but I keep running into the same problem...
I dont mind genre. Romance, drama, action. But why is it so hard to find female characters that feel real?? I'm tired of the doe-eyed, naive girl who thinks like a 10 year old and whose only personality trait is bashful. And who the artist won't give anything but a puppy eyed or slightly surprised expression.
I want characters that I can think about, multi dimensional, and imperfect. I want her to be a regular person. I want her to have friends, to think for herself, to have an internal monologue based on morals or goals. I also chose the examples in the images to show the kind of facial expressions and body language I look for. These make the characters feel like an actual person, even if the art style is a bit cartoony. It shows their thoughts or feelings and makes them feel 3D. I think all of these webtoons do a great job of fleshing out these characters.
Please give me recommendations that have one or more female characters like this... I'm so tired of digging through the slop being churned out...
(Images in order: Ilmi from The Fox Club, Yeong from Prize of Youth, Jieun from Girl Friend, Seol from Cheese In The Trap, and Myeong from Muse on Fame.)
Edit: other webtoons I've read that do this properly are: Odd Girl Out, Self Immolation, Purple Hyacinth, The Makeup Remover, I Love Yoo, Four Options, Knife In Her Heart, Gourmet Hound, and possibly more i can't remember...
Edit 2: I appreciate you all so much but I dont mean like clinically insane! Or traumatized to the point of harm! I meant regular degular people! I meant real as in real people you might actually meet
