Traffic (Resolved) Where’s the compassion in Austin?
Today when I got off my 12 hour to head home , I ran into traffic (shocking I know) on Menchaca. Eventually I got to past what was causing the traffic jam and it was a car broken down in the only available lane. Everyone was just passing the guy and no one helped which I thought was crazy! So o pulled over went and talked to the guy to offer to move the car. Turned out he couldn’t move it bc the emergency brake can also disengage when there’s power. So unfortunately we had to jump the car in the middle of the road before we could move it.
What blew my mind was that so many people drove people very angrily , I got called a dumbass and was flicked off and it wasn’t even my car! I was shocked at the hostility and lack of compassion. Like obviously no one wanted to be in the middle of busy road but that was the situation.
It’s not all bad, a cool biker came by and tried to help and a very sweet couple came to help just in time to help push the car out the way and clear the traffic.
I guess my point is saying that if people were just kind and help one person, it helps everyone
