Announcement r/accelerate hits 100,000 members! The acceleration is accelerating! 🚀

100,000 people have now decided that accelerating technological progress is more interesting than complaining about it.

We were celebrating 69,000 members just a couple of months ago. Now we've hit six figures.

And somehow, the growth is still accelerating.

Just look at the past 30 days:

  • 12.2 million views
  • 59,400 published comments
  • 1,500 published posts

A special shoutout to our incredible mod team.

Since starting this subreddit, they've manually banned an astonishing 10,498+ decels, luddites, anti-AIs, doomers, spammers and trolls.

Our mod team is a small, incredibly hardworking group of volunteers. They deserve enormous respect for giving up their own time to help create something surprisingly rare on Reddit: a place where people can actually be optimistic about AI, biotechnology and technological progress without being drowned out by decels and doomers. Decels are a very loud minority. And despite their best efforts to sabotage this place, the subreddit just keeps growing.

Thank you to everyone who posts, comments, shares breakthroughs, contributes to discussions and helps make this such an excellent community. It's genuinely remarkable to see how far we've come, and even more exciting to imagine where we're going.

100,000 members.

🔒 Established r/accelerate contributors only Malfoid is changing people’s minds about AI

This entire video was made with AI and it’s going viral across all social media. There’s countless comments like ”this is what AI was made for” or “AI malfoid changed my mind about AI”. Pros have said this would happen since the start and it’s satisfying seeing people cave in just like we said they would.

I just can't take it anymore

This is just too crazy... every single day for the past MONTH I've just been in a perpetually mindblown state... it's so fucking insane, and I've never felt like this in my life... every single day I'm blown away by new heights of AI, how amazing it is, how incredibly earth shattering this tech is... and I just thought of something, just now, just this moment, which is so profound - I think that we (you and I) are actually, among the luckiest humans in history, in the hundreds of thousands of years that humans have existed, because although in the future (100+ years from now), AI will be exponentially more amazing than it is right now, you and I are actually living through the TRANSITION PERIOD of this tech - that is, we lived a life BEFORE it, and will live a life AFTER it - NO OTHER PEOPLE in the HISTORY of humankind will be able to say that - and I think, living through this transformation is absolutely stupendously incredible, beyond belief. I mean, just think about it, right? None of us lived through the discovery of electricity, we were all born long AFTER that had happened, so to us, electricity is as normal as... grass. But the people who LIVED THROUGH the discovery of electricity were probably so mindblown by that every single day it happened. But here's the difference - AI is SO MUCH MORE powerful than electricity - it is so much more powerful than EVERY SINGLE ACHIEVEMENT that humans have created since we've been on this blue planet, it DWARFS all other achievements throughout humankind, in scale, capability, and consequence - just wow, wow, wow

I never want to die

Welp.. it's happening. People are so anti-ai they DON'T want it for medical/ healthcare industries (as well as law and engineering)

https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1x89mo1/doctors_lawyers_and_engineers_are_joining_ais/

Just look at the comments, people's minds have been brain rotted by AI hate so much that they are calling anyone helping AI to diagnose patients faster (and make it more accessible) a working class traitor LMAO.

Continue to browse through the "as a doctor" posts and you will see doctors saying "I'm trying to convince my co-workers this is just training our replacements, AI used to be bad but now it's actually coming up with decent suggestions and things will only get worse." Yup, it's actually BAD now that AI is catching up for healthcare, these people are being as transparent as possible that they NEED to gatekeep to keep salaries high and actually helping people and making health care accessible is not in alignment with what they want. We went from these brain dead redditors talking about "Ai companies need to pay for training instead of stealing it, also why are they focused on art why not actual use cases like medicine" to "if you let AI pay you for training them you are a traitor to humanity, also we DONT want our doctors to be clankers thank you."

Then you have the clowns who aren't doctors or lawyers but are convinced they are "fighting for humanity" when they don't realize these professions lobby to have their field be as gatekept as possible from the ground up so lawyers and healthcare (who work with insurance) make as much money as possible from the common person. "Fuck lawyers, scummy group of people that overcharge. But also fuck AI in use of law, I want the human touch even if they can make mistakes." I think r/technology is ultimately what they think this sub is, an batshit insane anti-progress cult that constantly quote Ted Kaczynski thinking they are deep. I used to just roll my eyes and assume the average person on this site is just ignorant on topics and go with whatever is trendy, but now it's actively self sabotage in the name of "ai = bad."

No clue how much of this activity is bot driven but I have no doubt that stupidity and blind hatred has no bounds. They call AI a religion but this is about as delusional in the name of religion as you can get, but it actually hurts everyone even more compared to something like the Amish. We apparently need to have a few more decades of people dying from cancer so everyone can at least have a couple of dubs for humanity aka larp because they think they can all become doctors and lawyers with insane salaries and live in a nice new york apartment like they are from Suits.

🔒 Established r/accelerate contributors only What happened to this subreddit?

The most upvoted post in this subreddit ever is currently an Anti Elon slop post that is using a misleading image with bad lighting to suggest the Roadster is hollow.

It's not the Navier–Stokes problem being solved, Anthropic having a AI assisted medical breakthrough or some of the other amazing things that happened in 2026, it's something that is indistinguishable from what you would read on r/futurology or some generic Anti Elon subreddit.

I personally don't care about the Roadster or other sport cars, it's very low in my ranking of Elon products I'm excited about, but if you can't talk about Tesla or SpaceX, who whether you like it or not, are some of the most important accelerationist companies, without people being insufferable and turning it into a cultural war issue in the comment section, then I'm probably going to stay away from this subreddit in the future and just stick with X for tech/AI discussions, that was also the reason I stopped using r/singularity a few years ago.

There Is No Such Thing as Pure Novelty. Humans Recombine Too

I wrote this a few months ago with chatgpt 5.6 Sol after around an hour of discussion. I decided to post it now because I keep seeing this argumenr pop up more and more. The read is fairly long, around 15 min, but I'd be curious to hear your guy's thoughts. The jist is that there is no such that as "novelty" and everything we as humanity has come up with has been based in nature.
