Today when I got off my 12 hour to head home , I ran into traffic (shocking I know) on Menchaca. Eventually I got to past what was causing the traffic jam and it was a car broken down in the only available lane. Everyone was just passing the guy and no one helped which I thought was crazy! So o pulled over went and talked to the guy to offer to move the car. Turned out he couldn’t move it bc the emergency brake can also disengage when there’s power. So unfortunately we had to jump the car in the middle of the road before we could move it.
What blew my mind was that so many people drove people very angrily , I got called a dumbass and was flicked off and it wasn’t even my car! I was shocked at the hostility and lack of compassion. Like obviously no one wanted to be in the middle of busy road but that was the situation.
It’s not all bad, a cool biker came by and tried to help and a very sweet couple came to help just in time to help push the car out the way and clear the traffic.
I guess my point is saying that if people were just kind and help one person, it helps everyone

Found this cutie under my car this morning around 7:45am. She has a collar but no tag to contact owner. In Barton/Zilker area. I believe she is an indoor cat that got out, as she calmed down the moment I put her in the warmth of my car and started making biscuits. Took her to a vet clinic, no chip. Will require proof of ownership. But, no sign of injury, which is awesome! Please let me know if you’ve lost your cat!

My husband and I have been feeding this sweet cat (we call him Socks) for over a year now since he was an adolescent. We already have four cats so we aren’t able to take him in, and I guess his scent has started to seriously trigger one of our girl cats to the point that she freaks out and gets extremely scared of our other cats.
I’ve looked into trapping him and taking him to the shelter but the timing for intake doesn’t work for either of our schedules. Can anyone please help? He’s such a sweet little guy and deserves a home, I wish we could help more than just feeding him 🥹

Marcy’s family is heartbroken. She has been missing since October 14, and they are desperately trying to find her and bring her home.
Marcy is not just a pet. She is a beloved member of a family who loves her endlessly, and they are living every day wondering where she is, whether she is safe, and when they will get to hold their girl again.
There is concern that someone may have Marcy and that she has not been returned home. We are asking anyone who may have found her, taken her in, or knows anything about where she is to please do the right thing and help reunite her with the people who love her. No judgment. Her family just wants her home.
Marcy is a friendly blue/gray and tan French Bulldog last seen in Leander near Horseshoe/Circle Diamond, close to Leander Middle School. She is friendly and not shy.
PLEASE SHARE. Someone out there may have seen her, know something, or be able to help get her home. Even one share could make a difference.
📞 Call or text [737-383-4946](tel:737-383-4946) with ANY information.
Marcy, your family is waiting for you. You are so loved, and you are so missed. Please help bring this girl home. ❤️
Saw (first, heard) these 3 helicopters in the sky. Pics taken from Burnet @ W. Anderson.
One big boi followed by two normalish but still military looking ones. At first, I thought they were going in a straight line, but it’s been 15 minutes and they’re on their 3rd lap, circling around central/north austin. Anyone have any ideas what this is about?

My friend’s dog got away from him last night. Area btwn Robert T and Pleasant Valley on 5th or 6th. She is chipped but doesn’t have a tag and responds to her name, Baby Girl. We’re checking shelters too but if you’ve seen her, please let me know.
EDIT - BABY GIRL IS HOME! We did it Reddit, the amazing kind and wonderful u/miserable-rough-1912 messaged me within an hour and she is safe at home. Love you, r/Austin

Most mainstream places focus on sport massages, deep tissue or just general work up, but many of them don’t really work your face. Like if you go for a deep tissue and ask for some face work, they will give you some treatment but it’s usually at the end after they work your upper back, spine and shoulders. Don’t get me wrong, it helps, but then the clock is up.
I literally want someone to put my face, and lower jaw through a wringer because i have TMJ and also bruxism (teeth grinding).
I just need a quick 30 minutes of someone with strong thumbs to fix my jaw tension, my temples, forehead and scalp.
As an alternative does anyone know where i can buy tools to massage it myself if there are no parlors? I usually use my thumbs, but im obviously not trained

TxDOT mentioned this section of the boardwalk will be closed 10/12 - 12/19 but I happened to see somebody's recorded run from this morning and they went through the entire portion.
Just curious on if anybody knows if it's actually open. I plan on going through tomorrow and don't want to detour if I don't have to. Thanks!

My wife has seen one in the alley a couple of times. It was cool to see that they have a mate.
