Wrongful termination???
I worked at a large, reputable, hospital in Southern California for just over 15 years. For the majority of my time there, the department was plagued by weak managers, that never lasted long, and a rather incompetent director. A massive divide developed within the department that could not be managed. Someone from one of these groups placed some type of recording device in a private office and recorded days, if not weeks of private conversations. Many confidential and patient related conversations were likely inadvertently recorded. These recordings were cherry picked through, possibly altered, and sent to various staff, managers, directors and CEOs of the hospital. I reported these recordings as a HIPPA violation to the state department. I was ultimately terminated for failing to report comments that were made in said recordings. They also made false allegations that I had used racial slurs, although uncorroborated, I ended up being terminated and sacrificed over the fall out of this scandal. I am bringing a wrongful termination suit against this organization. However, I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with anything this crazy? I am also looking for a licensed private investigator, to see if it can be discovered who put the recorder in the office. Any advice would be appreciated.
