🗣 Doctrinal Debates Unpopular Opinion: Original Sin is stupid

The doctrine of original sin is dumb and the only reason it exists is because a lot of Christians rely on so called "experts" to interpret the bible for them. Most Baptist churches hold to this idiotic tradition and it's disgusting. Anyone that sees a newborn baby and thinks "yup, this guy/gal has sinned" is seriously devoid of common sense. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that hates this "doctrine" but I have to remind myself that there are other bible believing Christians out there.

🗣 Doctrinal Debates LDS Apostles & prophets are false, they taught a false God the Bible doesn't teach!

GOD BORN OF A WOMAN:

Church News September 19, 1936, p. 26, ''Man was born of woman, Christ, the Savior, was born of woman, and God, the Father was also born of woman.” – Joseph F. Smith

GOD WAS A MAN, SAVED BY OBEDIENCE:

A New Witness for the Articles of Faith, Chapter 7, ‘God the Father’, p. 64, “It is the first principle of the gospel to know for a certainty the character of God,” the inspired word continues, “and to know that we may converse with Him as one man converses with another, and that He was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ Himself did.” The Father is a glorified, perfected, resurrected, exalted man who worked out his salvation by obedience to the same laws he has given to us so that we may do the same.” – Bruce R. McConkie.

HOW GOD BECAME GOD:

Journal of Discourses 20:211; “God revealed to him (Joseph Smith) not only the fact of Divine existence, but even how he became God, that it was through living up to correct principles, and by developing within himself every sublime sentiment that had its origin in truth. He taught him how the people “who dwelt on the earth” might also be thus exalted to be angels of God, and finally Gods themselves.” – C. W. Stayner, Salt Lake City, May 25th, 1879

GOD WAS A MORTAL MAN:

General Authority Milton R. Hunter, who wrote:

''Mormon prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Eternal Father was once a mortal man who passed through a school of earth life similar that through which we are now passing''. (The Gospel Through the Ages, 1945, p 104).

God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us...'' Teachings of the Prophet of Joseph Smith, pp. 345-346.

“He is our Father, the Father of our Spirits, and was once a man in mortal flesh as we are, and is now an exalted being.” Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 7, p. 333.

“God is a personal Being, a holy and exalted man''. Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 1966 ed., p. 250.

“Mormon prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Eternal Father was once a mortal man who passed through a school of earth life similar that through which we are now passing. He became God, an exalted being, through obedience to the same eternal Gospel truths that we are given opportunity to obey.” Apostle Milton R. Hunter, The Gospel Through the Ages, p. 104

BLASPHEMY!!! God did not become God, He had no beginning and will have no end. From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God, Psalm 90:2. In my view, and according to the Bible, LDS teach an unbiblical, false God. This is not Christianity, it is heresy!

✝️ Advice I've been giving a lot of people rides to church, but can I get recommendations for getting rid of car odors/preventing them?

I try to help people with rides whenever I can and my car is usually pretty full of people. However, some people I give rides to might be homeless or at least don't have access to running water to be able to shower regularly and I've noticed a smell in my car lately. Which, I'm perfectly fine dealing with and I'm just happy that they want to come to church, but I'm also wondering if anyone has recommendations for anything they've used in a similar situation.

Sorry if this is an odd place for this question, I wasn't sure where to ask.

🌟 Christian life For apart from Me you can do nothing (John 15:5)

"Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught."

Luke 5:4

We learn from this narrative, the necessity of human agency. The draught of fishes was miraculous, yet neither the fisherman nor his boat, nor his fishing tackle were ignored; but all were used to take the fishes. So in the saving of souls, God worketh by means; and while the present economy of grace shall stand, God will be pleased by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. When God worketh without instruments, doubtless he is glorified; but he hath himself selected the plan of instrumentality as being that by which he is most magnified in the earth. Means of themselves are utterly unavailing. "Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing." What was the reason of this? Were they not fishermen plying their special calling? Verily, they were no raw hands; they understood the work. Had they gone about the toil unskilfully? No. Had they lacked industry? No, they had toiled. Had they lacked perseverance? No, they had toiled all the night. Was there a deficiency of fish in the sea? Certainly not, for as soon as the Master came, they swam to the net in shoals. What, then, is the reason? Is it because there is no power in the means of themselves apart from the presence of Jesus? "Without him we can do nothing." But with Christ we can do all things. Christ's presence confers success. Jesus sat in Peter's boat, and his will, by a mysterious influence, drew the fish to the net. When Jesus is lifted up in his Church, his presence is the Church's power--the shout of a king is in the midst of her. "I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me." Let us go out this morning on our work of soul fishing, looking up in faith, and around us in solemn anxiety. Let us toil till night comes, and we shall not labor in vain, for he who bids us let down the net, will fill it with fishes.

📖Bible Study No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service!

Summary: Being sure we are not spiritually underdressed.

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service

I am sure that you have seen that sign at many establishments. Some signs say that you must have a coat and tie. If you are fortunate, they have loaners. One restaurant here in Mesquite promises to cut your tie off if you show up with one. There are black tie only events and establishments. Show up in the wrong attire and you will not get in no matter how much you may whine or attempt to bribe the person at the door.

You would never show up in a swimsuit to go snow skiing unless you were a member of the Polar Bear Club. It would be difficult to play center field in a football uniform. Show up in causal dress at a formal affair and you are mortified. Show up in a tux at a casual event and you feel overdressed and a bit stupid. Being properly dressed for the occasion is something we are all concerned about. Most people would never dream of showing up at a wedding naked, but some are going to show up at a wedding one day in clothing just as embarrassing as a birthday suit.

Matt 22:1-14

22:1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen. KJV

Verses 11-13 are what I want to speak to, but here is a quick run down on the rest of the parable. The ones the King initially called were His people, the Jews, but they rejected Him and some made terrible excuses. Others disdained the King and brutalized and killed His messengers. This speaks of His prophets, including John the Baptist, and I believe prophetically of the Apostles since all but John were martyred. I believe that it takes in all other Christians who have died and will die for their faith as well. The destruction spoken of in the parable may well be that of 69AD and may also speak to the Tribulation as well when only one-third of the nation will be saved. The guests that He went into the highways for are those Jews who believe, but primarily we Gentiles in the Church Age.

In the verses of my theme the King not only prepared the feast, but He supplied a special garment for the guests. This was normally a long white robe. The guest need only request it from the ruler of the feast and it would be given to him. To show up without it was more than just bad taste, it was deemed worthy of punishment. To arrive without the garment was inexcusable. Therefore you can understand the anger of the King in the parable. He already had been snubbed by some and lost messengers to others. Now here is this person who did not find the occasion important enough to even obtain the proper clothing and yet shows up blatantly insulting the wedding party and the King. Is it any wonder that the King cast him out?

How like the Kingdom of Heaven this is. The King’s Son will one day come back for His Bride and there will be a wedding feast. Many that have been invited will ignore the invitation for the things of this world. Others will mock and murder the messengers. Then there are those who thought all they needed to do was show up and it would be fine. They thought their own robes would be sufficient not realizing that their "Sunday best" were just rags of self-righteousness. They did not ask for the robe of righteousness that Jesus would have gladly provided. Their end will be just as disastrous as the first two groups of people. They will not be rejoicing at the feast but will be weeping and gnashing their teeth in outer darkness. You see, while we are so cautious to be sure that we are wearing the right name brand clothing we need to be sure that the right name is on our robe - Jesus. Anything else will not only be uncivilized, but will leave us unsaved and damned.

What robe will you be wearing when He returns for His Bride? Remember that many are called, but few are chosen because few ask the ruler of the feast for their free wedding garment. Jesus’ righteousness - don’t show up without it. You do not want to insult the Father or the wedding party. Seek Him now while he may be found and be the Bride!! To leave Him at the altar is your greatest loss!!! He is still sending people out to the highways to bring in all that will come. Your invitation is signed in His blood! RSVP today because the wedding may be tomorrow!!! Just ask believing and receive!!!

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. (KJV)

✝️ Advice Jesus

Jesus and what He provides. God Loves all people. God does not want anyone to perish. God does what He can to save people.
Salvation
Eternal Life
Total Forgiveness
Love
Remember, confess, it goes away. If we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Even if you die with unconfessed sins you will be completely forgiven in Heaven because you have been born again/saved.
Working the worm: forgiveness through the Blood of Jesus causes the worm of your life to become a beautiful butterfly in eternity. Ask the Lord Jesus to cause you to forgive. When you forgive others, God will forgive you. You can also tell God you are sorry and ask Him to forgive you and He will. God will cause you to forgive and not have anything left unforgiven if you are saved. This will happen in heaven if you don’t finish forgiving everyone who hurt or was in debt to you on earth. When God forgives you could be healed also. Jesus healed a paralyzed man in the Bible after saying to him your sins are forgiven you and telling the man to take up His bed and walk to prove that He could forgive sins. When you are saved all your sins will be forgiven. And you have never done anything God won’t forgive and you never will do anything God will not forgive.
Their worm dies not and the fire is not quenched is what a person is if they are not saved/born again at some point. Today is the day of salvation. Don’t risk hell. Ask the Lord Jesus to save you.
Not a complete list: Love, Forgiveness, Salvation, Eternal Life, and Love of the Lord Jesus; Peace, Joy, Righteousness, and Love in the Holy Spirit; and Love, Life, Jesus and the Holy Spirit come from the Heavenly Father. God is Love. They are Elohim. He is God. God is Good.
Ask Jesus for the Living Water and it will spring up inside you unto Eternal Life.
When You are saved you are born again at the same time. To be saved do one or more of the following. Ask the Lord Jesus, Jesus, Isa or Yeshua, to save you. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Jesus Christ is Lord. For God so loved the world that only begotten Son so that anyone who believes Him will not perish but have Eternal Life. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved and your household also. Confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God has raised Jesus from the dead and you will be saved. Die for Jesus and the Gospels sake and you will be saved.
If you ask the Heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit in Jesus name you will receive the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was crucified and died so that people would be saved. On the cross Jesus said it is finished also meaning paid in full. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so must the Son of God be lifted up. Jesus said that when He is lifted up He will draw all mankind unto Himself. When we see Jesus it allows us to live and be healed. Jesus was crucified on a wooden cross to break the curse of the Law. The Law said that cursed is any man who is hung from a tree and Jesus did not deserve to be cursed. Jesus died so that we could eternal life because He tasted death for all men. Jesus is righteous and innocent. Jesus’s Blood was shed so that all people could be forgiven. We are righteous because we believe in Jesus. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the way to God the Father. His Truth breaks Satan’s deception. If you believe in the truth and act on it you will do works of righteousness. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Jesus gives people eternal Life. Eternal Life is knowing the Father God, the Son of God and the Spirit of God for eternity. Jesus is the Word of God who was made flesh. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
God is Love. He who is forgiven much loves much. We love God because He first loved us. If you are saved you will love Jesus. Jesus is the Author and Perfector/Finisher of our Faith. Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. Love/Grace/Mercy is where God loves us, saves us and gives us eternal life and God even though we don’t deserve it. By grace are we saved through faith and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God not of works so that no man should boast. Eternal Life is a free gift that God gives that we can’t earn and can’t lose after we have been saved. All we like sheep have God astray, we have all turned to our own way and the Lord has laid on Him the inquity of us all. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Eternal life is knowing God for eternity. God is eternal and God is Life. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. When Jesus returns to earth all the people who were saved and have died will be resurrected and all the people who are saved and are alive when He returns will have their body transformed into an immortal body and will never die.
Reconciliation- When we forgive and are forgiven we are reconciled not holding what was forgiven against the person. If you are having a problem with anger forgive until the anger goes away.
Delusions. Lies if believed causes deception. Deception causes delusions where your understanding of reality is changed and you start acting in an illogical way. It is logical to believe what is true. If you believe in the Truth who is Jesus you will break through deception and be free.
God is good. God is Love. Perfect Love casts out fear. Torment is fear of punishment. Jesus is Truth and Jesus’s Blood will cause us to be forgiven of all our sins if we are saved.
Justice is getting what you deserve. This is an unfair existence. Mercy overcomes judgment. Mercy rejoices against judgement. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Judge not lest ye be judged. Remember you had to be forgiven too. It is unfair that God is not loved completely. Lord Jesus cause me to forgive people. By grace are we saved through faith and that is not of our selves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is when you receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is The Anointing, the Living Water springing up on the inside to eternal life and the Breath of Life which is what we breathe to stay alive is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God in the Old Testament is the same person as the Holy Spirit in the New. Ask the Heavenly Father in Jesus name for the Holy Spirit and you will receive Him. Ask Jesus For the Living Water and He will give you the Living Water. The fruit of Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patients, Kindness, Goodness, Gentilness, Faithfulness, Meekness, and Self-control/Temperance. Jesus said before.
Jesus is meek and lowly and humble.
Middle mgmt. yells at people for not doing what they are supposed to do. Don’t be like middle mgmt. Lord Jesus cause me to forgive people for not doing what they are supposed to do.
Ask the Lord Jesus to save you.

❓ Questions Any Baptist pastors or ministry workers willing to answer 8 questions for a grad student?

I’m a graduate ministry student and need to interview two experienced ministry practitioners for an assignment.

I’m looking for someone who has spent real time caring for people—pastoral ministry, hospital visitation, grief, recovery, prison ministry, crisis care, chaplaincy, etc.

The 8 questions are about listening, suffering, boundaries, spiritual practices, and what actually caring for people teaches you about God and ministry.

No phone call or Zoom required. If anyone here would be willing to help, comment or DM me. Thank you!

----

  1. Take me through a typical day. What does your ministry look like? Who do you spend most of your time with? What do you spend most of your time doing?

  2. How do you know what someone needs from you? How do you know when to offer advice, or when to just listen?

  3. What spiritual practices help you stay present when someone is suffering and there really isn’t anything you can do to fix it?

  4. What do you do when you’re caring for someone who sees the world differently than you do?

  5. How do you serve and care about people without bringing it home with you? Should there even be a line?

  6. Have you ever realized that trying to help someone was about your own need to help or feel useful? What did you do with that?

  7. What has being around suffering, grief, addiction, poverty, or crisis taught you that you couldn’t have learned in a class?

  8. If someone wants to spend their life serving people in hard situations, what would you tell them to do or experience before committing to pursuing a degree?

📖Bible Study Jesus Does Not Need Your Cain

Summary: Too many professing Christians believe Christ needs a little help to finish His work. They are like the Judiazers Paul fought and like Cain who wanted God to accept His work rather than having the faith of Abel.

Act 15:22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:

24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Circumcision was the very first rite of Judaism. It was bringing you into the covenant family. No Jewish family would consider not doing this to their male child and try to raise them in the Law. Without the foundation the rest would be useless. Gentile converts to Judaism were required to be circumcised under the Law, which is probably what sparked the issue the Council addressed.

That said, it is very clear that the Gentiles were not required to keep any of the Mosaic Code to be saved/sanctified if they were not required to lay the foundation of circumcision. Though these men were Jewish they said the Holy Ghost told them what to say to the Gentile believers.

We do not have to keep feasts or Sabbaths of any kind. Baptism did not replace circumcision since circumcision was no longer required. Besides, if that were true girls were not circumcised so they would not be baptized either In essence, circumcision was a blood covenant between God and man. The shedding of hymeneal blood on the wedding night was the blood covenant between man and woman.

All those groups that try to mingle the OT and the NT or Law an Grace are practicing the very thing Paul fought against throughout his writings. Indeed, it is a grave error that Paul warned the Galatians that if they were circumcised, they would have to keep the whole Law.

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

No one can keep the whole Law, not even the Jews as there is no temple to sacrifice in and has not been one since 70 AD. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin so if you want to keep the Law you are doomed because if you sin in one point of the Law you break the whole Law. Anything else you do is a waste of time and profits you nothing in the courts of Heaven.

Remember Cain? He wanted a Frank Sinatra kind of sacrifice. Cain did it his way and offered up the fruit of his labors and was rejected. A Gentile trying to keep the Law is doing the same thing. In fact, it is a slap in Christ's face making His sacrifice not quite enough to get the job done. He needs our rituals and vain keeping of the Law to complete the work He came to do.

He came to set us free from sin and to fulfill the Law allowing us to walk in freedom as sons and daughters. Yet, we enslave ourselves to rites and rituals of men who failed to grasp what the Cross meant. Faith and faith alone justifies us before God. Jesus paid it all and we received the gift for free when we turn from our Cain religions to the faith/trust in Christ.

In the beginning, God only asked for faith/trust in Him about that tree. Instead, we in Adam trusted the devil, our sight, our lust and pride thus we died and suffer from the hells of sins until the day the universal curse is lifted at the creation of the new heaven and earth after the Millennium.

Faith is what He wants still. All through the Word God spoke and those with faith trusted Him in whatever situation they were in. Those who did not trust Him did their thing and suffered.

Jesus does not need any Cain to aid Him. The work is finished. You cannot add to or take away from it by your works or rituals. All you can do is give Him your Cain and walk in freedom and wholeness. Hallelujah! Maranatha!!!

📖Bible Study Rusted Iron

Summary: We have decided we are at peace and have no need to be sharpen for spiritual battles. We are entertainers.

"Iron shapeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of a friend. " Proverbs 27:17

I could not find a royalty free image of this verse, but they all contained an anvil, a piece of iron heated red hot and a hammer. None of the images showed anything smooth and easy like massage therapy.

I have a friend, that is like a brother, who from time to time would point out where he thought I was stupid or wrong and I received it because he was my friend. Since he was from TN, he did it differently than someone from NYC. He was often a polisher, but could hammer me when needed.

My drill sergeant was more of a hammer. Indeed, he could get fired up and that heat was transferred to us and we got sharper or got more of the hammer. We had some hard cases in my outfit. They required a lot of heat and hammer. One had to be sent to a retraining unit and eventually was discharged.

Sadly, I have read where we are entering a new season for recruit training that I fear will create a weaker troop and eventually a statistic on the battlefield or after discharge. Better to find out a troop cannot deal with stress where he cannot get himself or others killed. We need hard troops before they become tempered or battle hardened less they crumble in a firefight. An ice cream soldier will melt quickly whereas a tested sword will survive.

I wonder what happened to Christian soldiers. We used to be the Church militant. Granted there were some excesses of legalism that needed to be addressed, but as Andrew Bonar stated we have developed a weak and effeminate Christianity in the West. Indeed, if Christianity were an army we would have difficulty winning battles because we lack unit cohesiveness with many units AWOL or on permanent R&R. Many change the Battle Book to appease the enemy in hopes of avoiding a battle. The slightest thing makes us reach for our stress cards. We don't like having conduct challenged anymore than the Israelis that stoned their prophets.

The South did not lose the War Between the States because they were outnumbered four to one and poorly provisioned. Indeed, they nearly won. Depending on which historian you read only two battles kept them from victory. They lost because too many of their leaders felt they should have the glory so they did things their way or did not show up at time that was appointed. Divided, they fell.

Just like that war, we see victories, but we may lose the war as we are also greatly divided and like in the time of the Judges doing that which right in our own eyes building personal kingdoms and not His. We are the Corinthians where we are of this group or that group or that split of that group.

The 1950s are long gone. We are no longer a Christian nation. We are a nation with Christians in it. That is because of being asleep as well as divided. We are in a hot fight which will lead to a dark night with no chance of flight If we lose. We needs revival where we will unite for the fight turning out light of our country club churches. We are called to stand. United, we stand. Divided, we fall. Harsh truth, but truth nonetheless What will we do?.

✝️ Advice Why do i feel like I'm not doing it right?

Hello, I've recently converted to baptism and I'm just feeling like I'm not doing it correct. I listen to the Bible, I'm trying to be a good person (lord knows I slip up a lot but it's the thought), I try and pray whenever I can to try and get closer to God but I just feel like a faker and as if I'm not doing it right. I'm starting church this week which actually is the same day my good friend is getting baptised too.

📖Bible Study Set The Captives Free!

Summary: Are we fulfilling our mission?

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

We are left on this earth after salvation to bring others to Christ to receive the same salvation and freedom from sin. That is our mission.

We were set free to bring others out of the captivity of the devil. Jesus came to save, not to judge. Judgment comes at Second Coming and it is He who will do the judging. That doesn't mean we cannot call sin, sin, but it does mean we do not rant and rave sounding like we are thrilled that people are going to Hell.

It is hard to find some preachers/Christians to be true servants of the Lord by the description in this passage of the job requirements. Too many are harsh and cruel. Because of that some will go too far the other way to try and offset the harm caused by the ones who are too harsh. No extreme is good, We must seek balance. Note that there is nothing in this passage about political correctness or sugar coating your message. It does speak to delivery style and that reveals your heart attitude. If you say you preach a gospel of grace given to you by a God of mercy and love then your gestures and tone should reflect that.

During WWII, our troops did not liberate a POW or Jewish internment camp by going in and brutally beating the prisoners as they were being told that the soldiers had come to set them free. No, they treated the prisoners with gentleness and provided care for them during the transition to freedom. Yet, we bash sinners about their imprisonment by their sin while we say God loves them and so do we. Really? We are not to strive and yet we go to battle with the prisoners and not the real enemy who made them captive. Jesus led captivity free. He did not brow beat them before He did it.

He did not bitterly rant and chastise the woman at the well or the one taken in adultery before He forgave and saved them. He was gentle with both. Indeed, by merely writing in the sand he was gentle to the ones who would have stoned her. He could have called each of them by name and called out their sin publicly. Instead, he let their own conscience convict them as He wrote. That is not how many would have done it. We are to be gentle to all, not just the ones who share the weakness to the our personal sins or our ethnic group.

Since our culture is no longer immersed in the Scripture as it once was, many sinners need to be taught the basics. They sin because they are sinners, but also because they do not know they are sinners because they were taught we are only high tech monkeys and there is no God, but themselves

that makes the rules. They may even have some form of religion that does not have the same standards for good and evil as the Word teaches. Gentle teaching is required. You have to plant the seed and water it praying God will give the increase in that person's soul. If you have been taught that two plus two is five all your life it will take some patient teaching by someone to change your mind.

If your attitude is one of meekness where you are seeking the glory of God and not your own then you will be able to understand the principles given in this passage. You will not take their rejection or rancor personally because they are not truly opposing you but God and themselves by not accepting the truth. They have been taken captive by the devil. They are like a wounded animal that lashes out at a person trying to help it. The pain and the lack of trust is delaying their healing. They just don't know that. That is why God has to do the work of grace in them that will allow them to repent and accept the truth. After all it has always been God's work but He calls us to prepare the way. Maranatha!

📖Bible Study Lost Or Broken

Summary: You may be too high to be saved or used, but never too low.

Last night at our men's discipleship group one of the lads brought up the announcement of Christ's birth to the shepherds. It was opposite of most grand announcements of royal births. Usually, they came from the king to his court and nobles and then it would filter down to the least of the kingdom.

God chose to start with the lower class, indeed people not necessarily considered to be invited to such a grand event or even important enough to tell.

Then another spoke of Jesus revealing Himself to Mary Magdalene who had been freed of seven devils. One wondered why He did not just go to the priests to reveal Himself. Indeed, you would think John or him along with Peter and James would be first.

Again, this is Jesus revealing Himself to the least of these. Women would not very respected in those days. She had been possessed and we do not know what kind of lifestyle she had because of that possession. So the least of the least in the eyes of the culture.

Too often we are enamored with celebrity preachers or the highly gifted people in our churches especially if they are wealthy. This is contrary to the Gospel. James warned us about such things. Paul said that God chooses the weak, the base and foolish to be used and the mighty and noble are few among the ranks of the redeemed.

I spoke about John 21 where Jesus recommissioned Peter after his prophesied failure. Indeed, he was commissioned in Luke 22 at the time he was told he would deny Christ. Yet, Peter felt he was done and went fishing even after Jesus told Mary to tell His disciples and Peter knowing Peter would not have responded to just saying the disciples.

Maybe you are feeling that God is not interested in you. You feel like you are lower than whale dung in the Mariana Trench. Indeed, if people could read you heart you think they would turn away in disgust. They might, but He is knows more than them and even you and yet He is still wanting to save you. You may be the least of the least and the worst of the worst, but the angels will rejoice over you when you are saved.

Maybe you blew it and blew it badly and now you feel like all you can do is go back to your old way of life like Peter going back to fishing. Jesus knew where Peter would be fishing that day so that Peter could know he was forgiven and his commission was still in effect. Peter professed a love greater than he had and yet Jesus took what he had and gave the care of the flock to him.

The Spirit and the Bride says, Come to Jesus. Be saved. The announcement of the Messiah paying for your sins came when He arose and ascended to the right hand of God where He will always make intercession for you. Then one day He will return for you or you will be ushered before His presence as a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Broken brother or sister come back to be healed. When you were saved you were given a gift or gifts. They have not been removed. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Your repentance will put you in a place to be used, but He never took them away. Come back and receive healing and power to serve in those gifts.

Micah 7:18  Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

Ephesians 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Leave Tomorrow With God - David Jeremiah Daily Devotional (October-03-2026)

Leave Tomorrow With God - David Jeremiah Daily Devotional (October-03-2026).

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” — Matthew 6:34

Worry has a way of dragging tomorrow into today. Before anything has happened, our minds race ahead imagining conversations, problems, losses, and circumstances that may never come. And suddenly, we are carrying a burden God never asked us to carry.

Jesus does not tell us to ignore responsibility or refuse to plan. Scripture commends wisdom and preparation. But there is a vast difference between preparing for tomorrow and living there. One is wisdom; the other can become worry.

In Matthew 6, Jesus points His listeners to the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. Neither lives anxiously wondering whether God will remember them. And then Jesus brings the lesson home: “Are you not of more value than they?” Your heavenly Father knows what you need.

That changes everything.

Worry asks, “What if?” Faith asks, “Who is God?” Worry fixes its attention on an uncertain future, while faith fixes its eyes upon a faithful Father. The future may be unknown to you, but it is never unknown to Him.

This is why Jesus gives us a priority before He gives us His command concerning tomorrow:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).

A divided heart will always struggle for peace. But when Christ occupies first place, everything else can be entrusted to His care.

Perhaps you are facing something today that makes tomorrow look frightening. Remember this: God gives grace for the day in which you are standing. When tomorrow arrives, He will still be there. The Lord who sustained you yesterday has not abandoned you today, and He will not disappear tomorrow.

So do what God has placed before you now. Pray now. Obey now. Trust now. Handle today's responsibilities faithfully, and refuse to spend today's strength fighting tomorrow's imaginary battles.

And what about yesterday? If you have confessed your sin and received God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ, do not continually reopen what He has forgiven. Yesterday belongs behind you, tomorrow belongs to God, and today is where He has called you to walk with Him.
