Critique My Work Still working on the perfect low-poly to high-poly hand.
I've posted about it before, this is my current progress. The goal is to make a low poly cage that is useable in low poly games, yet can easily be subdivided and work in more realistic games. :P
The rigging and textures are going to follow the same principle. This is kind to land my own personal "ready to use" character mesh as a starting point for the characters I make. So far very fun to work on. ^^
Please tell me if you see room for improvement or have any other comments! :o

Premade poses take forever to make but are so helpful when animating that they're almost a crutch. Here are all of Alethia's poses so far. I think there are 436.. I need to count. As I animate, if I stumble across a good one, I add it to the library. Interesting note that there are so many poses that it will drastically slow down your viewport scrubbing, so I needed to put the poses and the character in a master file and link them to the animating file. For whatever reason, it speeds things up. Anyway, fun stuff. Hope it's interesting.

More info is on Artstation https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ay0J82
Although the modern world is full of uncertainty, this personal project is something I turn to for solace amid the challenges of today.
It harks back to a time when things were made by people, for people - whether it’s a traditional century-old window frame or a video game with hand painted graphics.
I hope that, as you contemplate my work, you will manage to escape from the routine for a moment and immerse yourself in a nostalgic and magical world within you!

It is really hard to find audience these days, I really wish this work will reach more people's eyes and I hope you'll like it!

Need Help! Is the RTX 4060 Ti (16 GB) worth buying?
Hi, I'm using Blender with my RX 6600 and I'm still a beginner.
I previously created a basic, low-poly model for a school project, and when I tried rendering with HIP-RT, I encountered problems due to the 8 GB of VRAM being filled. As a hobby, I aim to create animations using higher-quality materials, so I decided to buy this graphics card before GPU prices increase in my country (I'm already a little late). The RTX 3060 has a maximum of 12 GB, so I've decided on the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, this also means I can access to Nvidia technologies.
I have a 550W PSU and an R5 5500 CPU, and I didn't have many options for an upgrade without replacing them.

Paid Product/Service Promotion The City Generator Paid Plugin review
It costs 65$ for the plugin and it was well worth my time and money as an intermediate blender artist. Their website is https://blender-addons.org/the-city-generator/ , the product page has more snapshots
How it works is you place an initial city square, and extend it from the edges using the resize tool in edit mode. This creates new city segments between roads and with cars. It can make massive cities quickly, and theres options for street lights (you can define your own light in the addon settings. you get to the addon settings by extending the bar on the right hand side using the arrow pointed to the left, kinda hard to explain)
But it does infact generate procedural cities quickly and easily, and they are fairly high quality. Cycles renders are good, and again, the street and car lamps are an awesome setting and can generate a significant amount of light even in somewhat dark scenes.
For an intermediate artists like myself, it was well worth my time since i lack the ability to fully recreate a city myself, I can, but havent done it before lol, but the addon lacked features such as adding meshes to simulate objects walking around the street (like people or lets say fuzzy spheres), but was overall great for wallpaper with shots of a city, and doesnt have that many features. But it's not hard to design a mountain plane, create and extend a city, and add an ocean with proper textures and shaders for a city view, maybe add some fog. But I dont think you can change the license plates on the cars, and the brake lights are always on in the cars, that might be able to be changed, and I believe theres options to use different cars. i believe you can animate some of this too but YMMV. And yeah there are modifications to the buildings I didnt get to
Needless to say, The City Generator quickly and easily generated entire cities, provided ample options (I think the website mentioned you can have entire glass windows for skyscrapers) especially for street lamps and auto lights (did i mention it automatically generates streets and cars?), and it gives the option of converting to mesh so you can do mesh stuff to it, im guessing you can put it through the geometry shader thing. It does work well, and if youre looking to design an entire city complete with lights, cars, streets, buildings, etc this plugin should work well. The buildings are also textured well, and look like real buildings. Still not sure how to get super realistic buildings but it is possible according to the product page.
Im guessing it should work equally well for people making video games, but I dont really write video games, maybe with ai it could work out to a good video game
Attached is something I made in roughly 5 minutes rendered with Cycles renderer
Overall, a good buy and a good tool to have in the average wallpaper makers toolkit

Paid Product/Service Promotion Tintline 2.2 update: my low poly texturing add-on now has one click auto shade (knight textured in under a minute)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Tintline is my Blender add-on for texturing low poly models on a colour atlas, and the 2.2 update is out today. The main addition is auto shade: select the model, click once, every part gets its own tone and its edges get shading, then two sliders tune the shadow and the light. 2.2 also adds your own palette by surface, select piece and ramps along a curve.
If you haven't seen it before: you build your own colour atlas first, swatches grouped by surface (metal, leather, wood...), each one a solid colour or a ramp from shadow to light, with its own roughness, metal, glow and opacity. Then you select faces and click a swatch, and Tintline moves their UVs onto it.
So it isn't just recolouring inside Blender. The result is a real texture: one small PNG and one material for the whole model, or for a whole asset pack. You can save the colour map with roughness, metal and glow maps (or packed ORM and mask maps) for a game engine, and when you change a swatch later, every model that uses it changes with it.
Works in Blender 4.2 LTS to 5.2. It's paid, $12, and 25% off until Saturday 24 October with this link: https://retrygames.gumroad.com/l/epnfg/TL22REDDIT
Happy to answer questions here.

Need Help! Is the RTX 3060 12GB still worth buying for Blender in 2026?
I'm planning to buy an RTX 3060 12GB mainly for Blender. I mostly create high-quality images at 2K resolution using the Eevee render engine.
Is this GPU still good for Blender? How well does it handle complex scenes, detailed textures, and high-quality rendering? Is 12GB VRAM enough, or should I consider a different GPU in a similar price range like Rx 9070 Gre
I'd appreciate your suggestions and real-world experiences. Thanks!
