The TV is on in the living room and all the men gather there with food while the women eat in the dining room talking about... Stuff? At least that was my experience
Excuse you, I'm one of the women hanging out with the men watching the game. It means I don't have to make small talk with extended family members I have nothing in common with.
For me, it was terrible. You would have the family who would go to the games and just skip thanksgiving. you would just have arguments that night. Moving it made the schedule way better.
Interesting because it's the intra-family rivalry that I most enjoyed about the UT v A&M game. Immediate family tend to share the same team, so you'd have splits between the larger clan that often mirrored their school's cultural divides (rural v urban, cult v sanity, etc). The game could fill that space rather than politics. Friendly hating on half the family, and shared bliss/agony with the other half, was the best. I miss it.
Also, maybe it's a Texas thing, but the women would all watch alongside the men. For sure a family event.
I’ve always wanted college football to have tie games and give both teams a loss as a result. There are several games each year that would make me so happy to see both teams take the L.
Maybe, but if he really doesn’t give a shit, he was giving a face-acting masterclass on the sideline all night. The man was not exactly exuding confidence out there.
Nah, Leavitt is ass any time he can't run. And any good team will spy him all game like Ole Miss did. I have never seen a QB this sloppy with his mechanics. Leavitt threw 3 INTs against Louisiana Tech. I am ready to see Landen Clark.
Honestly, if you think about it, he’s probably already a school legend despite having only coached for six games simply due to the context of what those six games were
Geniune grudge match of the century. Probably the biggest story line game in my 10ish years being a big cfb fan. And then the game was also cinema and the "good guys" won, at home. Gonna be very tough to have a better game for a neutral fan for quite a while
This game will go down as the craziest game of all time. Never before has a coach up and left a contender for conference rival in the middle of a playoff run and then had to face most of his former team the next season. And it will never happen again.
i was watching said game with the fam in C-U. had earned my CS/CE from UIUC "a few years" earlier. very blearily drove back to Lakeview East the following Sunday.
Illinois—well, SURS—now signs my retirement checks.
I remember it being a real bonding moment that really led to the fanmance between Oregon and Tennessee over the hate of Lane. While we didn't match yours, we fully supported it.
I just opened a bottle of red wine that I've been saving for a special occasion. I am not joking. Not going to get it from any Razorback sports anyway, so let's go.
What do you have on deck for that happy day? I love me some good whiskey. There’s a place here in LA that is a reservation only sort of speakeasy that has an insane selection of insanely hard to find and/or old whiskeys. Shit you’ll probably never see again in person
As someone that is surrounded by his supporters, I can't wait. I hate him with the passion of a thousand suns. We should be storming the capital right now, take back our country instead of "voting" him out cause you know he's trying to circumvent elections.. Alas, once you hit 80 years old, health really starts failing. His magic can't last forever.
I mean, ole miss could’ve won it all last season if Lane was there. This means Lane care more about money than being a champion. This is 2 times he was a major dick in his career and 3 if you could trying to add NFL players.

Haters game of the century?
