Ask CTI Why is Sonam Wangchuk's fast not the biggest topic today? What is missing? Why are not enough people talking about it? 15 days fast is no Joke as some people are trying to portray.

I am very confused about how things are going.

- This guy has been fasting for the last 16 days. His health is in very bad shape right now.

- He is fasting for a cause that impacts every indian in a way, even if many of them do not understand it.

- He is not a man of questionable character or having any criminal charges etc. He is a well educated person who has dedicated his life to education and welfare of people.

- He is not totally insignificant. He is probably more significant than Anna Hazare was when he started the fast in IAC.

My question to the people here is what is missing. Why is he not getting enough attention. What can be done to bring the attention of the masses and the government.

IMO, few things that are causing this are:

- Opposition is not asking the government to pay attention. I get it that CJP doesn't want political interference and that's the best part of this protest. But opposition not talking about it is basically dumb on their part.

- BJP IT cell has successfully made everyone to think that anyone protesting is irrelevant, anti national or andolan-jeevi etc.

- People like Samdish, News Pinch, and other independent YouTube based media channels are also not covering it for some reason.

- Abhijeet Dipke is not able to establish any conversation or capture attention which is required for such movements.

I think last reason may be the biggest contributing factor. But this can also be overcome.

Let's not discuss how IAC was funded by BJP. Those things don't add any value.

Ask CTI From Black and White to Bhagwa: Symbolism or Smart Governance?

8.0k Upvotes

The Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly ordered road dividers that were already painted in the standard black-and-white pattern to be repainted in saffron and white.

The move has triggered criticism from sections of the public and opposition voices, who argue that spending public money on cosmetic colour changes serves little practical purpose.

Critics also claim the decision could affect road visibility and safety, since black and white stripes are traditionally used because of their higher contrast, especially at night and during poor weather conditions.

Some have described the repainting exercise as an example of political symbolism being prioritised over governance and infrastructure needs.

Ask CTI Since When Did Spiritual Leaders Become Economic Auditors?

Post image
6.0k Upvotes

When global tensions rise, governments everywhere ask citizens to reduce unnecessary spending and conserve fuel. India is no different. Modi ji ’s appeal for restraint during uncertain economic conditions was neither shocking nor unreasonable. But the public reaction became interesting when questions emerged about his friends luxury aircraft and PM's high profile travel habits surrounding those delivering the message.

To be fair, governance and national security do involve expensive logistics that ordinary citizens may never fully understand. Yet public messaging also works best when leaders appear willing to share at least some of the sacrifice they expect from others.

Symbolism matters, especially when citizens are being told to tighten their belts while images of elite travel dominate headlines.

Still, perhaps spiritual leaders conducting parallel audits of government spending is not exactly the solution either.

Ask CTI Why should cleaners have all the fun?

10.1k Upvotes

A group of young men decided to do something different: clean the streets. Gloves on, masks on, they picked up piles of garbage and bagged it responsibly.

Instead of support, a local shopkeeper responded by spitting gutka onto the very pavement they had just cleaned. That single act said more about our civic decay than any speech ever could.

What followed was worse. The shopkeeper didn’t see littering as the problem. He saw the volunteers as the problem. Filming, he claimed, meant they were doing it for fame. A crowd was gathered, pressure was applied, and the volunteers were forced to apologise.

Here’s the truth. Cleaning is shameful. Spitting is normal. And accountability is offensive. Until that mindset changes, no slogan or campaign will keep our streets clean.

Ask CTI Are we still a democratic country?

1.6k Upvotes

Metro services are shut, railway stations are closed, gatherings of more than five people are restricted, and Delhi Police is on high alert. Police announcements are reportedly being made through loudspeakers at mosques and temples, warning people that anyone participating in the protest will be detained and face strict action.

But why? Are we not even allowed to peacefully protest for our fundamental right to vote? Isn't democracy supposed to give citizens the freedom to raise their voices when they feel their rights are threatened? If we cannot question or protest, then what does our right to vote really mean?

Ask CTI If This Is Growth, Why Does It Look Like Survival?

8.7k Upvotes

Every evening, the Mumbai local turns into a moving metaphor for India’s contradictions. People push, pull, cling, and fight not for luxury, but for a chance to get home after a day of honest work. This has gone on for decades. Yet we celebrate trillion dollar economy headlines as if they erase this daily grind.

Here’s the thing. India’s growth is real, but so is the exhaustion behind it. Millions work long hours in overcrowded cities, with stagnant wages, unsafe commutes, and little dignity built into their routines. Productivity is demanded, sacrifice is normalised, and resilience is romanticised because acknowledging failure would force uncomfortable questions.

Being a vishwa guru cannot be about GDP alone. A nation that claims moral leadership must first value the lives that keep its economy running. When progress still requires people to hang from train doors like cargo, the problem isn’t effort. It’s priorities. True greatness begins when hard work is rewarded with safety, time, and respect, not just slogans.

Ask CTI One scam ends, another begins. Is this the new normal?

Post image

Every day seems to bring another story that raises uncomfortable questions about governance and accountability. This latest case is no different.

A 100 bed civil hospital in Indore reportedly existed on paper for six years, yet not a single brick was laid because of unresolved land acquisition issues(🤣).

Even more astonishing, 87 staff positions were filled and the employees were deployed to other healthcare facilities. While the government cites administrative hurdles, citizens deserve far more than explanations.

Public institutions cannot function on paperwork alone. Taxpayer money demands transparency, planning and responsibility.

Whether this reflects bureaucratic inefficiency, poor coordination, or administrative failure, a thorough and impartial investigation is essential.

Public trust is built through accountability, not excuses.

A joint venture comprising Adani, Ashoka Buildcon and Akshaya has secured a ₹1,816 crore contract from the Brihan mumbai Municipal Corporation for Package III of the Mithi River Development and Pollution Control Project. The scope covers the river stretch from CST Bridge in Kurla to the Mahim Causeway, including the Vakola River.

The project will be executed under a design, build, and operate model, with a construction timeline of around four years, followed by ten years of operation and maintenance. Major components include intercepting polluted inflows, building pumping stations and transfer sewers, river training works, service roads, and retaining structures.

This intervention aligns with Mumbai’s larger urban renewal plans, including the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. Its primary objectives are flood mitigation, improved water quality and enhancing the livability and redevelopment potential of surrounding areas.

Ask CTI One Nation, One Time Zone, At What Cost?

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

India uses only one time zone, IST (UTC +5:30), for the entire country. This system was adopted to maintain administrative convenience and national unity. The standard meridian at 82.5°E was chosen because it lies approximately in the middle of the country.

However, India has a wide longitudinal extent, from about 68°E in the west to 97°E in the east. This creates a natural solar time difference of nearly two hours between eastern and western regions.

Problems of the Current Timing System

Early Sunrise and Sunset in Eastern India In eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, the sun rises very early, sometimes around 4:30 AM, and sets early. This results in wastage of morning daylight and reduced productivity in the evening.

Late Sunrise in Western India In western cities like Mumbai and Gujarat region, sunrise occurs late according to IST. People often start work before sunrise, affecting efficiency and comfort.

Energy Waste Because of mismatch between daylight and clock time, people use more artificial lighting in the morning or evening, increasing electricity consumption.

Health and Lifestyle Issues The mismatch between biological clock and standard time can affect sleep patterns, health, and daily routines.

But splitting India into many time zones? Bad idea. Administrative chaos, confusion and political noise.

The sensible middle path is what experts have suggested for years: two time zones or a shifted work time zone for the eastern states. Same date, same country, better alignment with daylight. Countries much larger and more complex already do this without falling apart.

So no, this isn’t about unity versus division. It’s about respecting geography and human biology. One nation doesn’t need one clock. It needs a clock that actually works for its people.

Ask CTI Goons barge into girl student's house and beat her and friend - Deoria, Lucknow. Please read body before conclusion

6.2k Upvotes

There is no news online or reports where it happend or why are the people coming and beating. Who is the boy and girl and the people. I saw this in up sub.

My question is if the police are not recording fir and if the girl is blaming the incident happend due to some fight at the apartment or at some place with x person. How is this gonna be proved. Without going viral will anything happen.

Whom to trust. First there is video recording of these guys broking into home. There might be or might not be video or recording which led to this.

How to prove that police are not recording as she claimed. Without came or recorded data, nothing can be done.

Will police do proper investigation if the fir is recorded if the other party is influential.

How can this be avoided.

Ask CTI Who is right in this context?

3.4k Upvotes

It’s the end of 2025, and somehow we are still fighting about languages. The reason isn’t that people dislike diversity. It’s that language is personal. It shapes how we think, how we connect, and how we see ourselves in society. When a language feels ignored or disrespected, the speakers feel the same. There’s also a practical side. Education, government services, and technology all work more smoothly with common standards. Balancing that efficiency with cultural identity is tough. The real challenge is that every language carries history, pride, and belonging. So language debates continue, not because we want conflict, but because everyone wants to be heard in their own voice.

Ask CTI I feel like India is heading towards a huge unseen crisis (just a personal prediction)

Post image
2.7k Upvotes

Lately, I can’t stop thinking about something.

Everywhere you look, people are angry. Loud. Frustrated. Unhappy.

Social media is full of rage. Streets are full of protests. Families are divided over politics. Everyone seems like they’re carrying some kind of bitterness inside.

You see people raising their voice against fake gurus, corruption, crimes against women, caste discrimination, communal hatred, unfair systems… everything.

But honestly… have you ever seen India this collectively irritated a few years ago?

Yes, we had big moments like Nirbhaya, major scams, riots, protests. But those felt like exceptions.

Now it feels constant.

It feels like something is boiling under the surface.

Here’s what I notice:

  • People have completely lost trust in politicians
  • People don’t believe in the system anymore — police, courts, institutions
  • Everyone thinks the country is run for the powerful, not for normal citizens
  • Society is becoming more selfish and cold
  • Job stress and unemployment is creating silent desperation among youth
  • Hate speech and communal tension is rising more openly than before
  • Inflation and cost of living keeps squeezing the middle class
  • Social media has made everyone more aggressive and polarized
  • Nobody listens anymore, everyone just fights
  • Even surveys are showing declining trust in institutions like the Election Commission and governance overall.

And the scariest part?

This is how internal conflict begins.

Not suddenly. Not with one big event.

It starts slowly: - The people vs the system.

That’s literally the foundation of civil unrest.

I’m not saying a civil war will happen, and I truly hope it never does.

But I can’t ignore the pattern.

India feels more emotionally unstable than ever. Like we’re heading toward some kind of social breaking point if things keep going this way.

Am I the only one who feels this?

Would love to hear other perspectives. Maybe I’m overthinking. Maybe I’m wrong.

Share your thoughts.

Ask CTI We Accept the Price Hike. Why Must We Accept Lower Mileage Too?

Post image
3.4k Upvotes

I am willing to pay ₹125 per litre for petrol and diesel if the circumstances genuinely demand it. Global conflicts, supply disruptions, currency fluctuations and even losses suffered by oil marketing companies are realities that cannot always be ignored.

I am even prepared to overlook the fact that these very companies failed to pass on the benefits to consumers when international crude prices crashed to historic lows.

But I have one non negotiable demand: give me pure fuel.

Do not dilute petrol and diesel with increasing quantities of ethanol, isobutanol or other additives that reduce mileage, affect engine performance and shorten vehicle life.

Consumers are already paying a premium. The least they deserve is fuel that delivers the efficiency and performance they paid for. High prices are painful; paying more for less is unacceptable.

Ask CTI If You’re So Confident About the Case Against Umar and Sharjeel, Why Are You Afraid of Letting the Trial Reveal the Full Story?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

This question is to those BJP zombies in this subreddit, how do you guys who oppose bail or even a proper trial for Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam actually expect the full truth to come out? Look at the Kasab trial. We got so much detail because everything was put before the court and tested, from his training in Pakistan and the handlers directing the attackers, to the GPS route, satellite phone, weapons, intercepted calls and how the whole 26/11 operation was planned and coordinated.

And honestly, wouldn’t it be incredibly brain dead to believe that the Delhi riots were somehow organised by just two people, Umar and Sharjeel, and that the answer is simply to keep those two in jail forever? Don’t you want the trial to actually establish who did what, what evidence exists, who else was involved and whether the prosecution’s allegations hold up?

Or is the real issue that you don’t want the trial to happen because you don’t want any other names or details to come out? If the evidence is rock solid, why be scared of putting everything on the table and letting the court test it?

Ask CTI Do Gods Really Care What’s on Our Plate?

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

Do human beings’ food habits really make gods unhappy? That’s a question worth pausing on. Across cultures, food is tied to rituals, offerings, and purity codes.

Many traditions suggest that what we eat can either honor or dishonor the divine. But here’s the thing, if gods are truly all knowing and compassionate, would their happiness depend on whether humans eat meat, plants or fast on certain days? Isn’t it more likely that such rules were created by humans to promote discipline, health, or social order?

Perhaps what matters more is gratitude, restraint and kindness. Food nourishes the body, but intentions nourish the soul.

Ask CTI Downvote all you want. Context still exists!

2.5k Upvotes

Every generation claims it will be the one that moves beyond caste discrimination. The next generation will grow up with better education, more exposure, and louder conversations about equality. That helps. But caste is not just an idea passed down in words. It is embedded in family networks, marriage choices, neighbourhoods, surnames and unspoken rules of access.

Children may reject overt discrimination, yet still inherit invisible advantages or disadvantages without questioning them. Silence replaces slurs. Politeness replaces exclusion. The structure survives even when the language improves.

Real change will not come automatically with age or technology. It requires deliberate effort. Honest education about history. Social mixing beyond comfort zones. Fair institutions that enforce equality. Without that, the next generation may look progressive on the surface while quietly carrying the same old hierarchy forward.

Ask CTI Be real for a second, who actually thinks Hindus or Muslims are under threat in 2025?

1.7k Upvotes

We keep saying India is changing, but our debates are stuck in the same tired script, Hindu vs Muslim. Every few months, something reignites the old fire and we all fall for it again. Politicians know exactly which buttons to press, because outrage is easier to sell than reform. As long as we keep reacting, they’ll keep milking that cow.

The real tragedy is that while we’re busy fighting ghosts from the past, the future is sprinting ahead without us. Nations are racing into clean tech, AI, education reform and social equity, and we’re arguing about who built which temple or mosque centuries ago. How much longer can we afford this distraction?

It’s time to call it what it is: extremism on both sides is the same disease wearing different clothes. Arrest them all, no matter which god they shout for. Let faith be personal and peace be public.

India’s greatest potential lies in what’s yet to come, not in what’s already happened. If we truly care about this nation, we’ll stop living in the past and start building the future. Because history doesn’t repeat itself, we do. And it’s time we stop.

Ask CTI What Happens When Fear Stops Working?

5.5k Upvotes

Bullying like this isn’t stopped by outrage alone. It needs a mix of restraint, law and social spine.

First, enforce the law without fear. Vandalism, intimidation and mob threats are crimes, not sentiments. Arrests and prosecutions matter because impunity feeds bullying.

Second, institutions must grow a backbone. Colleges, workplaces, and local administrations should refuse to yield to threats and clearly back the rights of their students and staff.

Third, political accountability. Groups that act as street enforcers survive because they’re protected or tolerated. That protection must be called out, publicly and consistently.

Fourth, social pushback. Calm, collective resistance works better than panic. Silence normalises bullying.

Finally, teach civic confidence. A society secure in its values doesn’t need mobs to defend them. Bullying thrives where fear replaces law.
